Kid friendly spot. My family enjoyed the dishes we ordered: house special chicken was our fave, Shanghai fried rice cake, minced pork rice, beef noodle soup were all good. The fried foods tasted very fresh and perfectly crispy, yet didn't feel too oily.
The service was so friendly - they checked on us a few times to see if we needed more water and was enjoying the food, and had recommendations when we were ordering and patiently explained a few items.
If you pre-order any of the cakes that they make daily (on display in their fridge), you might get an old cake like I did. The cream on the outside of the cake had already dried out and hardened, and the cake itself was also dry. The only reason I gave an extra star is because their cake is good if you do get a fresh one.
Flavors seemed to be toned down and not authentic, but at least it wasn't over-salted. Soups and noodles came out warm instead of hot. Portions are closer to kid-sized. It was sort of a disappointing meal. Service was friendly and fast.
Don't get the Shanghai noodle. No flavor and just covered in oil. It was inedible. This tastes like drive by Chinese worth $1.99 but prices are generally over $10.
Both the purchased yelp deal and the check in offer were rejected because it's Friday! Definitely not in the fine print. And the check in offer is alive and well on the app. So based on principle alone, one star. It's too bad because my coworkers and I order from here pretty often... It's just another day of the work week to us.
Great deal on lunch plates. Good barbacoa. Weird al pastor - I think it was chicken, I always thought al pastor was pork. Carnitas a bit bland. Good horchata. Very addictive habanero salsa.
