My family and I went to celebrate a special occasion recently at Latour. We have had a few positive dining experiences here in the past but this time it fell short of our expectations.

We felt that service was disjointed; for starters, the bread appeared on our table as an afterthought and when we asked for red wine glasses our waiter handed them to us instead of taking the time to place them and pour our wine. In addition, we put our white wine in the ice bucket stand (which was clumsy for us) instead of the waiter taking the lead on this - both examples of wine service gestures that should be standard in an upscale restaurant that Latour prides itself to be.

Our waiter, who might of been inexperienced, rattled off the specials omitting a few that may have been of interest to us. Also, he did not mention any of the prices of these specials, which we quickly learned were each upwards of $44 when we received our bill (Latour is not the only restaurant guilty of not disclosing special prices).

I ordered the lamb special which arrived on a very hot plate yet the meal itself was at room temperature at best and bland. The venison special that was ordered by another in my party, was also tasteless and not impressive.

The chef, as usual, came out to greet his guests which is always a warm gesture and the restaurant was crowded as he made his rounds. But there should be more emphasis on the small details that people notice to make Latour stand out and shine...the reason one goes to dinner at a finer restaurant.

In the current economy, and choosing to dine in an upscale restaurant that Latour should be, I want to feel that my paying well over $350 on dinner for four was worth it; that the service was top notch, attention to detail evident and the food was something exciting to talk about. Unfortunately, I over paid for services not received and our meals were not outstanding. In my opinion, Latour has lost its luster of years past and I will not return.

The owner, I believe his name is John, is very welcoming. He is also an active participant in the dining experience to make you feel comfortable. He will often assist the server in bringing out your food to make sure it is hot and your experience is pleasant.

However, the style of food served is very, very rich with butter, cream and salt. If you like this style of eating than this is your place and I would suggest the creamed spinach with your meal, which was literally spinach sitting in a cup of cream and butter or the pasta fagioli soup, which also had so much cream in it that I actually thought I ordered Penne with Vodka Sauce. However, our server reassured me that it was the soup. I make pasta fagioli quite often at home, and I have never added cream to it so that was not a taste I enjoyed. On another occasion, I had the Cornish Hen but unfortunately it was so salty that I couldn't eat it.

The restaurant seems busy so it appears that there are plenty of people who enjoy rich, salty foods. Personally, that style of eating is not for me. As much as I'd like to support this local restaurant and the owner I will not return.

I, too, don't know what people are complaining about. (There will always just be complainers!) I've always gone to traditional "doctor's offices" but it was a Saturday and I knew I should be seen by a medical professional so I could be functional for work on Monday.

I was initially hesitant to attend a facility like this but when I arrived, I was greeted professionally and impressed with the facility itself. It was clean and my wait was no more than 15 minutes. I realize there will always be other people ahead of me so a wait is quite normal. The doctor I saw was pleasant, patient and informative. I just needed an antibiotic for my throat and chest congestion and was prescribed a Z-pack which fixed me right up.. Thank you for a positive experience. Great to know there are other options besides a traditional doctor's office - especially on weekends!

I have been going to Super Cuts for about a year. I'm a guy who doesn't normally write reviews but felt I needed to write this one so Super Cuts in LP can stick around.

Sara usually cuts my hair (my preferred stylist) and does a good job. She is always pleasant and professional. However, my biggest gripe is the unprofessionalism from Stephanie and Natalie. Stephanie talks sooo loud and Natalie is equally loud but goes on and on about her personal problems, issues and children that no one cares about.

This is a business and they should be aware of this. There is also a new girl Kelly who seems good. I hope she and Sara can hang in there despite the obnoxious behaviors of their fellow co-workers..

Dr. Niedermeyer is a wonderful vet who has taken care of our cats for almost 20 years We are fortunate that we live so close to his office and love that it is for cats only.

It is apparent that Dr. Niedermeyer genuinely cares about your cat as he often will talk directly to you when you call. He is very knowledgeable and has always advised me well with any issues that I have had with our cats over the years.

Recently, when we brought Sofee in for an exam and litterbox issue, Dr. Niedermeyer was very cost conscious with me and only provided the care that was necessary for her during this visit. I appreciated his honestly and concern for our Sofee.

Thank you Dr. Niedermeyer for all that you have done for us and our cats over the years.
