Sarah did place cards for my wedding and they came out so good!!! She has different font and color options to choose from. She's very affordable and FAST! She got 100 cards done in less than a week. She's super nice and very responsive. If I ever need anything with calligraphy in the future, I'll 100% be a returning customer!
Good as always! 818 is a staple in our household. We go all the time in Boca, so happy to see one in Orlando. The inside is very clean and cute. Love that they have the food bar. You choose your broth and order meats, but the seafood, dumplings, noodles, sauces & appetizers are at the food bar.
If you're looking for a fun experience and don't mind cooking your own food, definitely give it a try!
Literally cannot say enough good things about this place!
The staff/servers, amazing! The atmosphere, amazing! The ambiance, amazing! End most importantly...the food & drinks, effing AMAZING!!!!
I'm from out of town and didn't realize how busy they got. I called a bit earlier in the day and asked about reservations, to which they told me they were fully booked but they might be taking walk-ins.
We arrived at 9:30PM (my mistake for thinking they'd be less busy), they closed at 11PM, and they were turning people away. It was my last night in Atlanta for my birthday vacation and I spoke to a host who saw my disappointment, so he went to get who I think was a manager. He told me to wait and he would see what he could do.
After waiting about 30 minutes, he was able to score us a table! It wasn't a crappy table in the back, it was a great spot inside!
The server came over and took our order. Everything we ordered, she would give us a description of everything, in very specific detail. It was great! Love when servers are knowledgeable about what they're serving.
We ordered the seafood spring roll, crab deviled eggs and the shrimp. If you get nothing else, get the spring roll!!!! It's huge, has TONS of seafood and tastes out of this world! The shrimp was good as well, but I'm not much of a fried shrimp person. The crab deviled eggs were definitely different. Very good! They were breaded, fried hard boiled eggs with lump crab meat on top and sauces. If you like eggs, you'll love this!
For our mains, I got the crispy beef and my boyfriend got the fried chicken over lobster mac&cheese. Both dishes were excellent. Giant portions and really tasty. The restaurant is pricey but you 100% get your money's worth.
For dessert we got the pound cake, despite being full. OMG, it was incredible! It was a matcha pound cake with caramelized bananas & strawberries and Grand Marnier ice cream. Holy freaking moly!
If I go back to Atlanta ever in my life, I will 100% be visiting Poor Calvins again!
The cook wasn't wearing a mask. Enough said.
The food was awful. They were out of ranch.
Probably one of the worst experiences I've had in a while.
The atmosphere is unbeatable. The restaurant is nestled on the grounds of the cutest little boutique hotel. However, the food was literally the worst!
For $100 per PERSON on Valentine's Day this place was NOT it. With a reservation the wait was over 45 minutes. The host staff refused to tell people how long their waits were so people started leaving.
The food was not $100 good. The only redeeming factor was the wait staff. Bridget was the best. After complaining twice the charcuterie wasn't being refilled, she took it upon herself to bring us our very own. And after dinner she gave us a drink for our troubles.
I will most likely not return, especially not on a holiday. Such a disappointment and such a shame of the robbery this restaurant is charging for a less than mediocre meal.
