Being a student, this is my favorite café in Philly.
1) Open until 10pm
2) Lattes/ caffeine levels are strong
3) Lots of tables/chairs (and a good amount of outlets too)... despite there may be music playing or people talking, somehow, maybe it's the ambiance of the place that still helps, I seem to always be productive here.
4) Loveee their dirty chai !!! (I am definitely biased bc I love chai tea lattes but) this café makes it spicier than 99% of other places.
Overall: A1 place. Thanks for existing!
Came by here to volunteer/help clean up the park for the Philly LOVE your park service day.
Tbh it's a very quaint park. Just benches and trees, but it's really nice to just sit and take in the scene. (Tbh, I can see why many homeless people would sit and sleep here... it's literally benches/tables and trees. Probably has the least traffic and is "out of the way", compared to sleeping on sidewalks or something, *sad face*). When I came by, there wasn't anyone... but dogs and their hoomans pass through often!! I would love to swing by a coffee shop (Greenstreet and Good Karma are both a block away) and just sit and chat with a friend, given the weather allows. Glad Philly has little parks/corners like these amongst the midst of center city.
Almost couldn't find this place (was on the wrong side of the street) but the Yelp pics of the yellow storefront helped!
This place is pretty big for a café.. lots of tables and chairs in the back. I stopped in to kill time before an event but it looks like even around 9am on a Saturday, a lot of ppl were silently working on their laptops. I definitely would come back to try and study here too!
The prices are pretty comparable to Starbucks (a latte ~$5). But almond/soy milks don't cost extra. And they have lots of baked good options! Vegan cookies! They have a coffee bean dispensary too. Place is cash only ($1.75 surcharge). Pretty hipster ish place (which I love! But slightly felt judged for not being hipster and coming in ). But I was greeted with a friendly smile so what else could I ask for?
Never sat and ate in but both times I've gotten burgers here for carry-out and it's always delicious AF every time. Ugh, totally worth ~$20 for 4 cheeseburgers. Their size is something between a slider and burger... Definitely a staple/must-visit place whether you live in the area or not!
Super large portions. Delicious Philly cheesesteak. Local business. What other reasons ya need to buy/eat from here?
