First let me start off with their hospitality. My husband is currently mobility impaired and in a wheelchair. Once we came in, they quickly helped us and made sure that he was comfortable and could fit in the table with ease. This was beyond my expectations and we greatly appreciated this gesture. The fact that they wanted us to be as comfortable as an abled bodied customer meant the most.

Now for the food, we ordered a little bit of everything. They are known for their chicken here and while I say it was good, it definitely isn't the best ever. It's a solid 3.5/5. It's crispy and fresh and juicy. But felt like it was missing something.

The pork belly combo with kale. The pork belly is very thin but flavorful and that kale is amazing. It's bright and perfectly seasoned. Easily one of my favorites and just thinking about it, I want some now.

The sweet potato pancakes were a pass for us and a heavy on the oily side.

Now, what was a 10/5 was the pig feet or pork hock. It was cooked perfectly and the seasoning and braise was so good. We didn't expect to enjoy this as much as we did but I would hands down come back for this alone. If you love pig feet, then this is a must do. I would undoubtedly come back here for the pig feet over the fried chicken any day of the week.

The garlic cabbage was also another favorite bit was still crunchy and so savory with the natural sweetness of the cabbage. It was just perfect.

The buns with condensed milk are good but not anything that you couldn't find anywhere else.

Overall, we had a great experience. The staff was really amazing. The food was good. And while the fried chicken wasn't the best ever as everyone claims the food is good.

The sq footage on the store is quite big. Lots of room to walk around and stroll the aisles. It is a smaller store with minimal offerings but you will find your Filipino basics.

The prices are on the higher end of other shops I have been to but for the only Filipino store in the area, makes sense. They have a small frozen section with items like lumpia wrappers, bangs, milkfish and tocino.

The produce is also small section but basic necessities that you may need. They get their produce shipped in about once a week.

We purchased some Filipino snacks and some bread that they had. I don't remember the baker of the pan de Sal I purchased but it was horrible. We threw it away and didn't finish it.

Customer service was nice. They were friendly and polite. Offered us a box for our goodies since I didn't bring a bag in.

I should note they no longer offer hot foods and had I known that, I wouldn't have gone out of my way to visit this location.

Walked in and we were instantly greeted with a smile and great customer service. The spot is open with decent seating and very clean.

We ordered two varieties of kimbap and they were both made fresh. It was delicious and flavorful and satisfying. I only wish I was closer because there is so much more on the menu I want to try. We will definitely be back when I'm the area.

    • Meat Shops

I love this meat shop and if I lived here I would definitely support them all the time.

Our first visit, we had purchased some Swiss farmer sausage that they had sliced for us to eat while we were walking around. And this Swiss farmer sausage was amazing. We had not anything like that before and we were hooked. It was meaty, savory and not too salty with just a touch of sweetness on the outside.

So we knew had to come back to get more and get more we did. We had asked if they could cut for us and the lady said they didn't normally cut the sticks but the gentleman said they would do it for us. So I loved that they did it for us again especially bc we thought it was just something they did from our visit.

I also purchased a couple of sticks of landjaeger and wished I had picked up a few more. Those were just as delicious if not more than the Swiss farmer sausage.

The meat selection here is pretty good too. All the meats are fresh and beautiful.

    • Donuts

      Granville Island/False Creek, Vancouver

On our most recent visit to Granville Public Market, we kept seeing everyone walking around with yellow boxes of donuts. We didn't notice these on our previous visits and so we were curious. We walked around looking for it in the food hall area but could not locate it.

After a short while, we finally found it towards the produce section and eagerly decided to say yes to getting donuts.

I love a good donut and not all donuts are equal. And these donuts are definitely top tier. The honey dip donut - oh my gawd. It's soft and pillowy but still the perfect bite with that subtly sweet glaze. It doesn't just melt in your mouth either, it's more substance to it than just sugar. It's truly a deli donut in every sense and just reminiscing of it makes me wish I had a couple now.

We also tried the Dutch crumb, butter crunch, and Dutch chocolate. Their cake donuts were just as heavenly. Not heavy or dry, they were moist and tender and made with love.

We will definitely be back and enjoy these again. Just don't do what we did and cut everyone. Since we came from the inside l, we didn't realize the line went out the door and down the building. What's crazy is no one said anything to us. We didn't realize how many people we cut until we walked out to sit down and enjoy our donuts. All we could do at that point was laugh and say wow.
