I was craving ice cream and walking around in the area, and came across this place. The interior is cute AF. They have a wall of cute, unique tchotchkes, gadgets, and jewelry for sale. As a cat lady, I love the cat decor! They have a huge couch and a few tables for lounging or studying.

Everything on the menu looked amazing, but I went with the brown sugar boba soft serve. It was ready with a cute bear-shaped spoon and it was incredible. The boba was obviously fresh and had the perfect chewable texture, and the whole parfait wasn't too sweet. I ordered mine with the oat ice cream, which tasted just like dairy. There are a lot of milk alternative and lower sugar options.

Would have been perfect, except I'm not crazy about restaurants/cafes that make me order from a touch screen and not a real person. It's so much easier and faster (and more personal) to tell a person what I want, when they know the ordering system so much better than I do. It's also cashless, which is kinda discriminatory and I think might not be legal soon. The products also aren't cheap. My ice cream with tax was almost $8.

    • Sushi Bars

      Downtown, Los Angeles

It's been a while since I went to write a review and was disappointed that I couldn't give 6 stars! This place is a treasure!

Don't be put off by the prices! These fat sushi rolls are freaking HUGE. It was pretty much the equivalent of 2 rolls, or 12 very large pieces (you can't even comfortably eat a piece in one bite). You could easily share with someone if you don't have a huge appetite, and the chef is verrrry generous with the fresh fish. I think I may have gotten a whole salmon fish in my roll.

I was looking for sushi near work. This takeout-only counter is in the US Bank tower, right in the middle of the stairwell/escalators facing the library. It's such a tiny booth that I don't know how 2 people fit in there, let alone prepare sushi! I walked over and placed my order for salmon futomaki, added cream cheese, and truffle ponzu. The incredibly warm, kind woman taking my order asked me if it would be OK that the food was taking around 25 minutes, and I said that was fine! She also enthusiastically told me about how good the chef's green sauce was, and offered to include some for free.

I walked around for a bit, then returned to wait after less than 15 minutes. The lady came out to apologize to me, telling me that they had a lot of orders to fulfill, and offered me a free Fiji water bottle. I hadn't even waited long! She presents the completed orders with so much pride, explaining what everything was and advising me to shake the little bottle of truffle ponzu.

The sushi roll looked like a gift! It was so beautifully arranged, and each bite was heavenly. The thoughtfulness, care, and attention to detail that this chef puts into his work is that of a true artist.

I can't wait to go back and try other items!

This area doesn't offer a lot of late night eats. We were staying nearby at the Brown Palace, where everything was closed, and we found Appaloosa. We were warmly welcomed by the host, who directed us to the left side of the restaurant if we wanted to talk, or the right side with live music if we wanted to party. Gotta love options!

I ordered the green salad with seared ahi tuna, a small bison green chili Colorado, and a lemon drop martini. My husband ordered the green chili bison burger.

We really enjoyed our food! Everything was fresh and tasty. Our server first brought my salad without the tuna, and it took us a while to get her attention to send it back. That took a long time, too. I didn't order a second drink because no one came back after that, and we waited for what seemed like an eternity to get our check. I believe the restaurant was closing, but every time we tried to wave down any server at all, they looked away.

I'm glad this place was open and the food was delicious, but service just wasn't great.

My husband and I stayed here on our first visit to Denver. It's pretty convenient to get to from the train station; there's a bus stop a few blocks from the station and you can use your train ticket, or you can use the free mall bus. When I read that it was a 100+ year-old hotel and that it was haunted, I was sold!

This is a beautiful old, well-kept hotel with a stunning glass mosaic ceiling and atrium. They offer afternoon tea and live music during the day. I'm sure that it's lovely during the holidays! All of the staff we talked to were very nice and accommodating.

Our King room was spacious, upgraded but still with personality and historical charm. I never heard any noise from neighboring rooms or the street, and during our snowy visit, we were able to keep it comfortably warm.

One of the reasons I picked the hotel (besides ghosts) was the location, and that it had multiple bars, restaurants and coffee shops onsite. Unfortunately, everything in the hotel closes so early that we weren't able to get any nightcaps after sightseeing and dinners. Even Ships Tavern closed disappointingly early. It's in a quiet, financial-district area that is pretty dead on the weekends, so it was hard to find late night eats or nightlife close by. We managed to find a late spot in the nearby 6th Street Mall, which was also really convenient for any travel items, souvenirs, or warmer clothes we needed.

All in all, I'm glad we stayed here! We loved Denver and that this was part of the experience!

    • Home Cleaning

      Sun Valley, North Hollywood

      Apr 8, 2024

We've been looking for a new, reasonably-priced cleaning service. I found this one on Yelp and messaged the owner, Indira. She got back to me within an hour with a quote, and told me that she could accommodate my request for the following day (we had a last-minute guest housesitting for us, so I wanted to leave him a nice, clean home!) I was quoted $180 for our kitchen, laundry room, main room surfaces, wood floors and rug vacuuming, and 2 bathrooms.

Carla and Rosa showed up at 9 on the dot and immediately got to work after I showed them around. They were OK with our cats, too. To my surprise, they told me they were all done just before 12PM. Everything was spotless and they took care of details that I've never seen another cleaner handle before... they cleaned/organized my shower caddy and shower head so that the water sprays evenly, swept up and cleaned around litter boxes, and wiped down all cabinet doors and frames. Our home was spotless and smelled amazing, and I was able to send payment through Zelle after they left (I always, always forget to have cash!)

I'll definitely hire this team again! They really helped me out this weekend!
