Not Impressed. Was there a couple of months after they opened. Cat food brands are typical of everything all other big box stores have on hand; generic, poor quality and unhealthy brands. Plus, parking for only about 10 cars if that, and difficult to get in and out of the lot. Will not return.
Could this place be less welcoming?
Finally stopped in for the first time this week around 9:00 am. One would think there would be a nice display of the items being offered for sale, but no. No bagels. About 7 donuts. Empty except for the unmotivated and barely friendly counterperson.
Asked if there were any bagels available. Was told "they are in the back". Asked if I could see one? The person brings out one and it looks nothing like a bagel, more like a large round baguette. No thanks, that's not a NY style bagel.
Was starving so I opted to try one of the donuts. Five flavors for sale and not a one sounded like anything I'd be interested in. Settled on the Vanilla Chai. Flavor? Interesting? Texture, terrible. Heavy, dense and too chewy as if it wasn't cooked through. And extremely small also - not worth the $2.00
Won't be back and can understand why this place always appears empty. Because it is.
Holy smokes what has happened to this theater?
Was just there to see Black Panther. Aside from the incredibly rude and lazy service, the women's room was SO disgusting. Clearly had not been cleaned in hours, if at all today. Pee and feces in toilets, dirty toilet paper in every stall on the floor, some stall missing toilet paper, overflowing feminine hygiene receptacles, no hooks to place your coat and bag - had to put my very expensive purse on the dirty wet floor.
FYI, the actual room we were in had not be cleaned inbetween showings either. Popcorn and remnants of drinks all over the floor creating a tripping hazard. Garbage strewn everywhere.
Honestly, bad enough to be shut down by the health department in Linden.
Management should be ashamed to allow this to happen and we've notified AMC corporate about it. The condition of this location shows a complete lack of appreciation for their customers.
This was our go-to local theater for the last 10 years. Love the seating and screens and it's close to home but there's no way we'll return without assurance that this issue will be fixed quickly.
This is an embarrassment of sushi.
Ordered 2 salmon cucumber rolls for lunch and a side salad with ginger dressing.
Sushi is completely generic, rice pasty and smashed together to the point where it appeared to be rolled in a white paste instead of rice.
Ginger dressing has no flavor at all.
So very disappointed.
Stay away.
I've been going to Luxie since they opened. I've been happy with services with a few poor experiences but for the most part, they are good.
However, this weekend I yet again was assigned someone who speaks NO English whatsoever. In New Jersey, all manicurists are required to be licensed - not just the business itself. There's no way anyone who can not speak English would be able to pass the required exams.
It's impossible to communicate if the manicurist is doing something which is painful, harmful or not wanted. Let alone, the possibility that human trafficking is taking place which is a real problem in this industry.
I will not be returning.
So far, so good other than a couple of minor comments.
First, the atmosphere at Luxie is soothing and spa-like. The 2 times I've been there it was wonderfully quiet. The employees are very nice and professional, although some seem as if they haven't quite received proper training, which makes me wonder if all staff are licensed to perform these services. Owner was very pleasant and genuinely seemed to care about everyone's opinions, a refreshing change from other local nail spas.
They have a decent choice of all services. I especially enjoyed being able to pick out the scent I preferred for my pedicure (Olive Oil the first time, Lavender the second). Everyone gets brand new emery boards and buffers. The entire space is really clean; they don't even put your feet directly into the baths, it gets lined with plastic wrap to ensure that nothing icky gets passed from one client to another.
Prices are fair and until this week, discounted for their grand opening. Parking is easy since it's in the outdoor mall area where King's is located.
I also had my eyebrows waxed and the person who did it gave me a nice cleanup and shape.
The only small thing which I found to be a problem for me personally, was that they had a Christian Preacher/Evangelist on the TV while I was there Sunday. While it was muted, it still is not appropriate content to have running in a spa. Many people are not of that faith (I am not myself) and might be offended being forced into watching this type of programming while spending good money to be pampered and relax. I hope this was just a single occurrence because if it were to continue, I'd have to find somewhere else to take my business. They did, however, accommodate my request to switch the channel to something more appropriate to a spa atmosphere, which I appreciated.
Overall, a great asset to the community and I hope they are able to maintain the good service they are currently providing.
