A first time for everybody, we celebrated our very close friend's birthday last night at Dana's Restaurant. We celebrated with an authentic kamayan feast!! For those who are non-cultured Filipino, like myself, I must say that I was a little hesitant eating with my fingers while all the food are spread out entirely on a long table resting on banana leaves for the whole party to pick and choose what they want to taste. But once I got my fingers dirty, it was game on! Everything tasted so good! Even though it was touching each other, each food item had its own distinct flavor. And when I say they give a lot, they give a lot! We had a party of 14, ordered two kamayan packages plus an add on of different meats, and it was just so plentiful! The only junk thing is you can't really take home the leftovers because everything just looks like a disaster after everyone is done eating, but I think we did some damage on eating all the main food items. It's is a great experience, everybody had so much fun because it was totally out of our comfort zone, but we really enjoyed ourselves. Aunty Mely who owns the establishment, was very welcoming and such a fun person to do business with! Her staff was very attentive and had great customer service. Aunty Mely also mentioned that they were planning on offering a Hawaiian food kamayan next week. Try this place out, reservations are preferred when requesting a kamayan because they put a lot of love and soul into their preparation and setup. We'll be back Aunty Mely!

Almost every Thursday we have dinner with my son and his gf since they live in town now so we reserve one day out of the week to eat together and reconnect. This past Thursday we decided to venture out their way and try a new place for everyone. My husband's choice was Honolulu Skewer House, and it was such a fun and creative place to hang out and feast on little sticks of joy! This little restaurant is located on a side street, right across of Ala Moana Shopping Center, although they'll be moving soon to a new location. I should've took a pic of their new location but I'm sure they're on social media so the word will spread. I wouldn't mind going again, their concepts are fun and the presentation of all their options make you want to try everything!

Adel, Megan and the rest of the kitchen staff and crew were so amazing when we had our son's graduation party back in August. It took a while for me to write this review, but it doesn't change the fact that Pueos restaurant is a great place to have celebrations, big or small, and the staff are so accommodating and very easy to work with. The food choices for our menu was delicious! Our guests of friends and family commented on how good the food was, which I quickly relayed the messages to Adel, who is the food and beverage manager. She was always quick to answer emails and calls. When she was busy, she would always call back and even text back. She made the party planning really easy and even helped out with setting up. Conveniently located in Ewa Beach, choosing this venue is close to home so traveling between the two places to transport the pupus, decorations and other things was an easy process. I would recommend this venue to everyone, give Pueo's a call, located at the Coral Creek Golf Course.

Since we had such a great time our first visit, I decided to throw my husband's yakudoshi over here. It was the best decision I could've made as far as intimate get togethers go! My kids invited 50 of our closest family and friends to help celebrate my hubby and we couldn't have been any satisfied with the coordination and smooth running service that we received. The assistant manager Nicole, made sure that my requests were answered through email and text in order to try and pull a surprise off. My family arrived before us and Nicole and her staff assisted with the setup. I was very appreciative. Nancy, and especially Kalei who tended to our party was so AWESOME!! I can't thank them enough with getting all our food and drinks out in a timely manner. But overall, just having them take care of us during the whole time we were there. We didn't feel rushed, and although they were getting busy as the night went on, they still made sure that we got our drinks and whatever else. Thank you also to all the servers that helped with making this event a success! The food was amazing!!! We went home with a lot of leftovers because even though everyone ate a lot, the portions are indeed "family size" and there was more than enough for everyone to take home. I'm very happy with Moani- the service, the atmosphere, and most importantly, the experience! Thank you for taking care of the most important people in my life and we wish you many successful years to come!

This past weekend I was thrown an epic surprise birthday party and my husband, along with my two best sister-cousins hired Yaymaker Company to help us explore our artistic sides! Kate and Leinani were our two awesome hosts and artist experts who walked us through this beautiful interpretation of a beach day print. They setup tables enough for twenty two of the guests that attended, and it was a big hit! My two sisters and I have attended an event like this at one of the sites they were at, but nothing beats having them at a private event! All of our kids enjoyed it, anybody can really do it, because our youngest painter was 7 years old. Kate made it very easy to let us paint how we envisioned our picture to be, her descriptions were super easy to follow. Leinani was very positive, walking around and encouraging everybody to not give up and to just relax. In the end, I'd say everybody's paintings were all different, but yet the same. It was nerve wracking, but the finished product came out awesome! They also shared a couple games that had the whole party participating and rolling with laughter! They were very easygoing, fun women that you wouldn't want to miss out having them at your next event!
