We live across the street from MF sushi, and after hearing how expensive it was, we decided to save it for a special occasion. We ended up going for Valentine's Day. My boyfriend and I went around 7:50 (our reservation said 8) were sat promptly by the lovely hostess, but then didn't see our first dish until 8:45. From then on it was downhill. Quick disclaimer, the food was INCREDIBLE. The quality of fish was absolutely fantastic, but for how much it costs, the quantities were laughable. We ordered two orders of special nigiri, the yellowtail appetizer, the #8 roll (smoked salmon and eel) and the Chilean sea bass entree. The waiter took so long to put in one of the special nigiris that it sold out and we never got it. There were no comps and barely any apologies. Again, the food was incredible but the quantities and service ruined the whole experience. Do not come here hungry. Eat appetizers before, even maybe a small meal, unless you want to spend tons of money.
I realize it was Valentine's Day and restaurants are busier than usual, but good god the service was absolute crap. The server was nice enough, but obviously forgot about us several times. He offered next to no recommendations and showed little to no interest in our table until it came time for the check, when he had us cashed out in less than 3 minutes. The only reason this place got two stars from me was because of the quality of the food. Will not be returning, which is a huge bummer because it's so close and I LOVE sushi.
