What a cute little spot! Conveniently located near USC campus, too. The overnight oats were so yummy and I really enjoyed my milk tea. I will definitely be back to try more flavors. Staff were friendly and I enjoyed the city of dreams wall in the back.
This felt like a safe covid-friendly event. I noticed as I was waiting for my order that the staff were running online orders out to patrons in their cars. Thanks for offering a safe and fun yelp event!

A perfect little spot for a quick lunch in Boone. The Local has a diverse beer menu and tons of interesting and tasty items to try. I tried the fried cheese curds and the pork and Gouda nachos. The cheese curds were light and gooey while the nachos had a sweet and spicy element. I had the fried green BLT which was a new dish for me, and just the memory of the creamy goat cheese perfectly spread within is making my mouth water.

I believe this is my first restaurant outing in 2020 since February! The Local has social distancing in place with the strategic placement of their tables, offers hand sanitizer, and has signs posted about wearing a mask while not seated and eating. They have a rolling window/garage like door (not sure what it's called) that opens out to the porch, airing out the entire restaurant.

We sat on the front porch enjoying the cool 70's temperatures and winds and occasional sprinkle of rain. Between the food and the atmosphere I had a great time that also felt safe and clean.

    • Bakeries

      Connelly Springs, NC

      May 8, 2020

Having an enormous and sugar-decayed sweet tooth, bakeries are top tier in my favorite establishments and places to visit. I first encountered Grey Ghost Bakery at the Charleston 2019 Yelp Con and got to sample the chocolate cayenne and almond toffee flavors. The texture and flavor of these cookies could not be more perfect! While locked in during quarantine I saw that this amazing company is still completing online orders so of course I HAD to have some! I have not been disappointed in a single flavor. The chocolate cayenne is still my favorite, but the chocolate bourbon is a close runner-up. The bourbon flavor is strong in these cookies, making them super boozy! No shame, I have already gone through half of my online order of cookies; can't help myself! I cannot wait to visit Charleston again and experience this bakery in person.

New burger joint on the block, popular for a Thursday night. My friends and I had a small wait before being seated at this dimly lit semi-industrial themed bar. The theme reminds me of a warehouse with black chain linked fences that a tough motorcycle gang might frequent, but if you make it clean and family friendly.
I started with the fried pickles (one of my favorites) which were thin sliced sandwich cuts cooked perfectly. I had The Frenchie burger which is a turkey burger with Brie, garlic mayo, and grilled green apples. The apples and Brie are what sold me on this burger and it was absolutely delicious. It had me reaching for the roll of paper towels on the table; the burger was juicy and dripping melted Brie and mayo.
I appreciate the listed calorie counts on the menu, because it would definitely be easy to go overboard here

This was my first time attending YelpCon and it was an absolute blast! Food and drinks were flowing, the costumes were incredible and creative, and the fun never stopped! I really appreciated the charity "We Are Family" and was happy to donate and see them there.
I loved the live entertainment; the drag show was spectacular, and my favorite parts of the night were the photo booths and the spin art. The silent disco was such a cool concept too; a more controlled and dark place to hang out if the party was too loud or overwhelming.
My favorite vendors were the Bacon Station with the creamy Mac & cheese, Miss Katie's Sweets (those brownies were heaven!) and Tito's handmade vodka.
And the smashmallow s'mores table, oh my GOD, perfect! This event was incredible in every way and I'm so stoked I got to attend.
My husband and I had so much fun and we left full and happy, riding the high of the night straight to bed.
