I highly recommend the Music Room for any child who is just beginning to learn piano. The material is very beginner-appropriate and child-friendly, with cute pictures and large prints. The class is conducted in small group where children with like-level and age are learning piano together. Parents accompany the kid(s) in each class and after the class Miss Jessica sends out an e-mail with a practice note. Every semester Miss Jessica organizes a recital where every student participates even the youngest child. This really boosts the student's confidence playing in front of an audience. My daughter is now in Harmony level 4. She went from hiding behind the pew during recital, to comfortably play in front of a crowd (even voluntarily give us a mini concert during Christmas) All credits go to Miss Jessica: for her dedication, patience, and for creating a supportive and fun environment which a child needs the most while learning his/her first instrument.

I regularly sit in on my grandson's class with Miss Jessica. He's in a class of 3 young boys which I would have imagined to be a squirm-fest. But Miss Jessica captures their attention and cooperation. She's so tolerant of their concerns and all 3 boys have developed into accomplished pianists who can memorize 2 pieces and perform with panache at recitals. Hooray for Miss Jessica!

Thanks so much, Lynn. That class was so fun to teach! I know your grandson has kept up with piano lessons in his middle-school years. It makes me so happy to know that I helped him get started!
