Service was attentive. Granted I went in on a relatively slow day and I was on my way back to Boston I decided to find a breakfast place. I got the impression that this is a local hang-out spot as many people came in and spoke to the Servers by friendly conversations. The decaf Coffee was so good I had like 3 cups and took one to go!
Trust me when I say the Irish Eggs Benedict was dayum good! Home fries were just the way I prefer them and food came up fast. If I am ever back in this neck of the woods again I will stop in for sure.

When the March / April edition of Yankee Magazine updated their "top New England diners" list, AND INCLUDED ZIP'S, it was only a matter of time. I am a diner person, and go out of my way to hit a great one, and hadn't been here in over 15 years (I think it was pie, maybe carrot cake, and coffee, on the way to Providence).
Today, it was the full Monty - roast turkey w potato, stuffing, choice of two vegs, dinner rolls (I passed on this) and cran sauce. Also, choice of cup of soup or salad. I opted for New England clam chowdah (excellent). Everything hit the spot....no room for pie (or carrot cake for that matter).
Zip's is one of those iconic diners, in Dayville since 1954. Same family, third generation. I met Kevin, 3rd gen owner. Very personable. He mentioned Zip's uses about 4,000 eggs (not a misprint) in a typical week. Local hens are exhausted, as are the roosters. Hours curtailed a bit in past few years, mainly due to shortage of kitchen help (note that food came out quickly today). There was no shortage of waitstaff. My server, Michelle, was the definition of excellent, efficient, effective, and as bubbly as a fine bottle of champagne!
Definitely worth a stop. Bring your appetite.Helpful 4Thanks 2Love this 5Oh no 0 - Oct 30, 2023
Zips Diner is a true hidden gem, and their year-round Thanksgiving sandwich is a delightful surprise that keeps me coming back for more. The combination of tender turkey, savory stuffing, and cranberry sauce is a comforting taste of the holidays any time of year. But it's not just the food that makes Zips special - it's the charming, old-school diner vibe that transports you to a bygone era. The cozy booths, checkered floors, and friendly staff create an atmosphere that's both nostalgic and welcoming. Zips Diner is a 5-star destination for a classic diner experience with an unforgettable Thanksgiving twist that's worth savoring.

Great little diner, I got the Zip's burger and it was huge! It and the fries were very good, the bottom bun was a little soggy but expected for a big burger such as that. Such a nice small-town diner feel. Would definitely go back if I was in the area (I live out of town). Would like to try their breakfast food sometime. Our server was very polite and continually checked back to see if anything was needed. Young girl, great personality.

When will you stop using styrofoam for take out and leftovers? Surely you can find a more suitable substitute that is better for the environment. Also why do you still use single serve plastic containers? The pandemic is over! Funny thing is I left a comment on your Facebook page but it was promptly deleted.
One last thing, fix your drippy ass ceiling! Last time we ate there I was afraid that was going to drip into our food. This place has definitely gone way down hill in the last few years.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Daniel C.Salem, CT7401Mar 11, 2024

Surprisingly good food, fast service, friendly staff.
I ordered mushroom and swiss omelet and was surprised to see that it was bursting with shitake mushrooms! Not button mushrooms out of the can like many other diners. Two thumbs up!
Also, smart people work there. They serve Frank's hot sauceHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - David C.West Haven, CT2067256Jul 2, 2022
Not a long wait for a Saturday morning.. Staff very friendly!!
Went with my "go-to" of corned beef hash and eggs with rye toast - incredibly acceptable (which is much higher praise than it sounds like)
Logan had the blueberry pancakes...good flavor and "plenty of blueberries ".
Coffee was good...and frequently refilled!!
Will be back!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Henry Y.Galilee, Narragansett, RI43202Dec 9, 2023
