Z barbershop

The haircut I got is significantly shorter than the haircut I asked for, and the onw I showed photos of. As I was describing what I wanted, the razor was already shaving, which was frustrating. That said the final product does look good, it is just not what I went into the haircut looking for.

Walked in, and Zack took me right away.
He did a great job my sort, fine hair, even razored some of the gray. Looking forward to going back.

Decided it was time to change my beard a bit, so I went back in to see Mike for a haircut and beard trim. We took my beard and hair down shorter for the rest of the summer. Now I'll be prepared if it ever stops raining! It's always a good time seeing Mike!

They just didn't have it together today. I won't name my barber but I went to him once before and he did a super good job - came back a second time and he remembered me. This time he was clearly heavily intoxicated at 1PM in the afternoon. Could barely hold the scissors and was hitting my head with the comb in a really odd way. Breathing super heavy and was very rushed, man was sauced out of his mind. Butchered my hair and forgot to even cut the top of my head. Worst haircut I've ever received. Maybe it was just a bad day or something but they were just not on their game. I ended up going to Acoste on Newbury Street and Gaston's fixed me up for free. Go there instead.

Mike cut my hair last minute when I couldn't get an appointment anywhere. It's tough these days to even get a spot at an old school shop, but Mike C. Delivered service with excellence, respect and the personal banter I expect from someone I'm stuck with in such close vicinity for 45 minutes straight. Thanks Mike!

Took my 15 month old for his first cut today on a recommendation. They pulled out all the stops (big screen cocomelon, paw patrol seat, toys galore). Baby was miserable, but had a great cut in minutes. Ziad is very good at what he does (giving screaming babies a haircut before everyone loses their minds). He even made a balloon animal after, but my kid knows how to hold a grudge. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately, I won't be coming back to Z's. Z as a barber is outstanding and genuinely friendly. However, I took a chance on booking w/ Mike C due to Z being out of the shop. I showed him photos of the style and gave him numbers for both hair clippers/inches. The guy cut the sides way too short and cut more than needed on the top. On top of that he asked me if I wanted to change anything or "cut it shorter" 3 different times - after he was done. He knew he had messed up.

I'm giving my rating a 2 because Z is a great barber, but this was a tough experience.

This is my go to barbershop in the South End. Ziad has been cutting hair forever and is a master. He is incredibly kind and caring and makes sure that you look your best leaving his place. The prices are super reasonable too! He accepts credit but prefers cash if you have it!

Just the absolute best place for a kids haircuts. Awesome SUV barbers chair, paw patrol on loop. They have got it down pat. Narry a tear from this little fella. OH! And it is super duper clean and they adhere to the whole mask thing well.

I have to agree with some of the other reviews that some of the barbers are much more talented and have a better attention to detail than others at Z's. In my case the bare minimum was done for my cut and not the level or detail to make sure when I got home that the cut would still look good the next day. Such as things as uneven trimming on the sides, and having to ask for certain additional trimming after the barber was done to improve the cut. Unfortunately I will not be back.
