About the Business
Since 1950, Whataburger has proudly served a bigger, better burger. It all started when a young entrepreneur named Harmon Dobson had a bold idea: to serve a burger so big that it took two hands to hold, and so good that after a single bite customers couldn't help but exclaim, "What a burger!" He named his humble burger stand in Corpus Christi, Texas, "Whataburger." Over six decades later, we're still family owned and operated. Each and every Whataburger® is still made to order. We still use 100% pure beef and serve it on a big, toasted five-inch bun. And now, as we proudly serve burgers, chicken, salads and breakfast at more than 800 Whataburger locations across the country, that first burger stand is still close to our hearts.

It's a little crazy doing a review on a fast food chain, but I have nothing but the highest regards for this location. The work they have done to ensure health and safety during covid is amazing. Their staff is helpful, professional, well presented, and all the things you'd hope for but seldom see.
The sign on the window says "Family owned and operated since 1950." From what I see, it has to be true as no corporate franchisee would show the care and attention I see here.
WELL DONE, and thanks.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jose T.Erie, PA73350Apr 29, 2024
I don't know why the low stars but my meal was excellent. It has been years since I have been to a Whataburger. And let me tell you it did not disappoint. A double with jalapeños, cheese and bacon. Also a spicy chicken sandwich and a Dr. Pepper milkshake. I was very satisfied!!!

VERY hard to beat the green chile double. It is one of my fast food burgers ANY where BUT... beware! It's a regional burger which I believe is only available in AZ, NM and WEST TX. Tried ordering one once in San Antonio and felt a little silly. I never order anything else! To my surprise it wasn't on the menu. Hatch Chiles!!! Que Ricoooooo

My first visit here and I found it very disappointing.
The whataburger quality was subpar. I like simple burgers with fresh fillings and quality but this one was teeming with semi-fresh, hurriedly choppedveggies that were haphazardly put together on a bun that had an afterthought of mustard slapped on it.
What earned the extra star was the grilled sandwich which aint even worth returning for. Disappointed and never revisiting this joint in the future. Save your hard earned money and use it somewhere else.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Xavier M.Los Angeles, CA1765Mar 1, 2024Updated review
Whatadisapointment- Upon entering, the place looks like it's full of customers, but it was actually full of employees standing everywhere and just talking to each other. No acknowledgment as I waited a few minutes before anyone offered help. This time they got the order correct, but what the hell kind of buns are you using now? My two burgers had buns that looked like burnt pancakes. I grew up in El Paso and moved to Los Angeles 35 years ago, I always looked forward to having Whataburger when I'd come here to visit, but the last two times have been utterly disappointing and now I know I will never eat here again.

There's just something about these burgers n fries that I gotta have when I get to this chain. Not cheap or expensive but consistent flavor. Bonus is the spicy ketchup

The dinning room is open 24 hours, after midnight it is full of drunks and drugged up people with no security, felt sorry for the staff . Drive through should be the only think open, not safe going after midnight

Seriously got a chuckle trying this Texas icon to burgers. No idea how they got a reputation of a great burger, it's not even as good as McDonalds. Son and I didn't even finish ours and headed to Sonic. Brutal food.
