Walt's Ace Hardware

This is my least favorite ACE of all time. The manager's name is Wes and he bullies customers constantly, it seems to be a reoccurring situation just read the other reviews. I do not recommend this place at all. Wes needs to be replaced with a person who practices good customer service, because he has zilch.

I'm always blown away with there service. Somebody is always willing to help and they are genuinely useful. I had a tricky return and they were very reasonable about the situation. I also get coupons sent to me on a regular basis which helps keep the costs reasonable.

Wow, these people really take care of you! I worked across the street overnight & came here because my key fob battery died. They helped me with everything & I truly appreciate the great customer service

This review and rating isn't about the store per se, not the location, people, or products. It's about a bad, out-dated non-competitive return policy.

I had shopped here for years and then fell victim to the policy and started shopping at the Ace at 7th Street and Missouri. Today I was in the neighborhood and needed a few things. I'm not opposed to Home Depot or even Amazon but prefer shopping locally. I went in, got what I needed - everything is fine - but I saw the archaic return policy on the receipt and remembered why I don't shop here regularly (see the attached pic).

There a number of categories not returnable. If you open the product, try it or find it's the wrong item or you don't like the way it works, you are SOL! They also reserve the right to arbitrarily refuse a return. I'm not aware of any other store that does that, their competitors allow returns, and I'm afraid they're sealing their own demise. When that happens, it won't be because customers don't want to shop there but because they've made it harder to shop there than their competitors have.

So - this is a BUYERS BEWARE post! As for me, I've been reminded and I'll avoid them again. Nobody wants to hand over their precious $$ and be stuck with a product that doesn't meet their needs!

This is by far one of my worst experiences with ACE hardware. I will not say all of them , but this particular store is the worst, they should not be allowed to run a franchise as they give the company a horrible name & representation. The manager son of the owner was horrible on his customer service talked down to people and when it was my turn for a return, he refused to even give me the time a day, receipt or no receipt he didn't even look at me, like I didn't exist, yet gave the cashier a red light to be rude herself. I didn't not know ACE hardware had a no return policy!!!??? NOT!! Just this crappy locThe item was broken when bought a crappy Industrial bucket that was broken and with a receipt yet they said NO and the reason BECAUSE I SAID SO & my father is the owner. Talk about arrogance and flat out crappy individual. As soon as I started to record his behavior he ran away to the back & refused to speak! Consider going elsewhere or other ACE. These people do not deserve the business . By the way extremely racist.!! My

Not everyone who walks into your store want to steal from your store. You don't want people with backpacks in your store! But ....you let the women who walked in before me to keep her handbag, that was bigger then my backpack.
Now why would I care if I have to leave my backpack behind the counter! Well I have a firearm in my bag. I ask do you have a weapons locker to keep my firearm. Answer girl behind the counter "We don't let them he store."
Ok so you don't need me in your store.
I walked right out and drove to a closer Ace down the road. Walked to there store, said hi to the people at the front counter and walked right back and found the $200.00 plus tool I needed. That I know your store had and I like to buy from local ace store because it help keep them open.
I think your fear and your lazy staff will keep me from your store in the future!

Angel is the best! Called several Ace Hardware's trying to find a very specific thermocouple for my water heater. Angel and his coworkers went above and beyond to locate the part that showed "in stock" but was nowhere to be found. Incredible customer service, thank you again!

A small task, but a necessary one! I needed to duplicate some house keys. More often than not, the duplicate keys never quite match up with the original, and are a source of annoyance to get them to work. I have shopped at Walt's Ace Hardware for many years, and always get great customer service. * MARCOS * made several duplicate keys for me, and they are perfect! Thank you, Marcos, for getting it right.

I've never been so insulted and treated soo poorly for the way I look. I'm a female plumber working in over 100degree weather!! I need one part, that not even the employees are educated in and I'm watched and followed the whole time! So insulting and degrading!!! This place needs to be shut down!!

They run this place like a casino floor and every employee is a pit boss watching your every single move waiting for some action. The old school two way mirrored surveillance loft makes you feel like you're in the black market. All the employees are wired with ear pieces and look at everyone as a threat. I bought four screws recently and a employee near me began escorting me to the front with my screws. All I had were four screws. Just for fun I sped up to lose my tail and b-lined it down a random aisle. She got on the wire and then I hear all the radios sound off -" white male black shirt coming down with 4 screws at .24 cents a piece". Wish I was joking. I still shop here because it's closer than Home Depot and I like their pens, but it's also fun giving the employees a chance to act their authority kink out.
