Walker's Pub

This is a great little pub right in the center of athens. It is close to everything and has great cocktails and beers, as well as coffees, teas, and ciders. Scotty runs the place and is incredibly friendly and sweet. They offer free WiFi and great suggestions. It is definitely the best place to meet up with friends or colleagues if you are in downtown athens.

This is a very chill spot to hangout with your friend. If you are alone it a good place to sit and read a book or browse the internet. The bartenders were friendly and nice. They do not serve food, but you have options of drinks to choose from. It varies from teas to coffees to cocktails.

Owner is ageist. he'll give anyone under 50 a small draft and overcharge them. What does it matter, place is only for regulars anyway. DONT GO if you haven't been. waste of time.

My favorite espresso martini! A great study spot but also a fun bar on busy weekends. Would recommend for either- vibes are always good

I've been coming to Walker's since I was a freshman in college, and have consistently loved it. Their breakfast burritos are tasty and reasonably priced, the vibes inside are immaculate (like seriously, the best coffee shop in Athens in terms of aesthetics), and the coffee, tea, and hot chocolate are good as well.

I know a lot of Yelpers are commenting on the service, and I can attest as a 5+ year Walker's visitor that the service isn't great. That said, most Athenians I know have come to expect that at Walker's. Walker's isn't for you if you are looking for kind and dotting service. Otherwise, though, I think you'll love it.

Such a cozy vibe, perfect for a chill coffee/beer and late night studying on a weekday or grabbing a drink with friends on a night out. I love the warm, wood booths and the staff are gruff but take good care of you. An Athens standby.

Love doing homework and meeting my friends there. It's so fun and the coffee was good. The baristas were so fun and nice to interact with.

Way overpriced and shame those who would prefer Starbucks. The alcoholic coffee drinks are low quality and the hot chocolate was significantly subpar. The cashier/bartenders were completely insensitive and didn't even look me in the eyes. I'm trying to think of something shwae to say about Walkers but nothing is coming to mind. Don't bother going here unless you're already black out drunk.

I have been going to Walker's ever since it opened about 20 years ago and it has never lost its quintessential Athens personality. It is a chill spot with perfect location downtown that still looks the way it did when I was an undergrad. While the staff has obviously changed over time, I feel like they always get replaced with equally friendly people. I am so glad this place got embraced by generations of UGA students to become an Athens tradition and can't thank Walker's enough for the decades of memories it has given me.

We came here late Saturday night for a drink and the pub was very cozy, clean and not too noisy or crowded. I ordered a decaf latte with oat milk and it came out just perfect.
