I ordered delivery from here by Ubereats this past Friday night. I actually ordered it as I was ordering an Uber from Brickell back home (about a 25 minute ride). Well a roommate actually had to open the door for them as I missed it by 3 minutes since there was a delay with the Uber but still I think it arrived about 30-35 minutes after I placed the order which is pretty impressive as usually they're close to an hour, sometimes even surpassing that.

Onto the food, I ordered the bruschetta pizza and shrimp scampi spinach linguine to share with my boyfriend. At first glance it was all packaged nicely and looked even better than I pictured. Portions were also pretty generous and honestly it was a pretty good deal at $35 (that's including the delivery fee). Both items tasted great, but my one complaint would be that the shrimp scampi didn't really have a lot of shrimp? This could be overlooked though as the pasta was really good. They also added 2 tiny plastic containers of gummy bears. Definitely not something I usually get with my food deliveries but as someone who enjoys ending a meal on a sweet note I loved it. We will definitely keep this place in my for future deliveries and likely try it in person sometime.

Stumbled into Vapiano for lunch today and it is quite a large and lovely space. They explained the whole concept of ordering our food at specific stations and paying at the end, which I thought was an interesting concept.

My friends had pizzas and we had pastas. The chaf said she'd call us when it was done. Then if you want drinks you have to go to the bar and order. We arrive before noon and were practically the only ones there, yet the drinks took forever. And so did the pizzas. Our pasta was made promptly though and was good. My friends enjoyed their pizzas as well.

I'm not sure how this place would be enjoyable if it ever got crowded. You'd have to get someone to save your seats while others travel around the place ordering food and drinks. I think if the drinks and pizzas didn't take so long, this would have been a better experience. The food was good though and the prices somewhat decent for the area.

Vapiano! Welcome to Doral. Please stay forever.

Vapiano serves some of the most delectable fast casual Italian food using only fresh ingredients. The pastas here are FTW good and they're made fresh daily in-house. Flavors and textures are on point. You can choose a pasta dish from the menu and then the pasta chef creates and customizes it right in front of you. Would I like some fresh garlic in it? Of course! Would I like it a little spicy? Yes please. Also choose your preferred pasta style and type of meat. We ordered:

-All Arrabbiatta with Pappardelle and Beef Filet
This was made with a delicious and fresh red spaghetti type sauce.

-Crema Di Funghi with Tagliatelle and Chicken Breast.
Loved the Tagliatelle style fresh pasta. It was a creamy dish and loaded with mushrooms. To my surprise, the chicken breast alone was tasty AF. This dish was to die for.

I saw someone order a customized salad that looked incredible for a salad. Someone else ordered a very tasty looking lasagna. They also have pizza. Everything looked great.

I've been avoiding Vapiano since they recently opened, but they seem to have settled in by now.

Charge Card - When you dine here, you're given a charge card that you charge all the food and drinks on as you go and then pay for it at the end. It can be a little confusing. Also they gave us 2 when we only needed one.

Can't wait to come back and try more things.

Was stuck between giving this place 3 or 4 stars. I went with 3 because my favorite thing was the carpaccio. Our meals were just "ok".

I was caught off guard with their style. I expected a normal, sit-down dinner. But this is more like a hip, casual spot where you get assigned a card and tap it into whatever station you want to order from. they have a pasta station, pizza station, salad, etc. Even for drinks, you have to go to the bar to order them, even non-alcoholic. Even for refills, you have to get up and go get one.

I just wasn't expecting that but if you are in the mood for a quick lunch or just a very casual dinner, this can be the place. Like I mentioned earlier, food was not terrible but I've had better. I do have to say that the carpaccio was great.

I came by to celebrate a fellow foodie friend's birthday last weekend. Ya'll know I like pizza so it doesn't take much pushing to get me to try Italian food so I definitely enjoyed the taste. We had the upstairs mezzanine reserved, which means I was able to burn off some of the food!

The concept of Vapiano is basically a food hall, where you order literally each item from a different station. Your order gets tabbed on a smart card and you pay with that at the end of the night. Other than a minor misunderstanding when I ordered dessert - and that it'd have been nicer to have our group at one big table rather than scattered - it was a pleasant dinner.

My dishes were a caprese salad with a big, creamy ball of mozzarella as well as a generous side of red and yellow heirloom tomatoes (rather than the traditional beefsteak tomato slices). It had just the right amount of balsamic vinegar for a hint of sweetness. Prosciutto pizza was next, and the crust had a good amount of crisp, with a good spread of salty prosciutto and shaved cheese. A little more sauce would have pushed it to 5 stars.

Moscato and a creamy strawberry panacotta closed my palate for the night sweetly. I can definitely stop by again next time I'm in Doral.

      Updated review

This night they knocked it out of the park. A Friday night and they set aside the upstairs for a few hours for my party of 25. The process of getting in and everyone their card and coached on the process of ordering went well. They were very busy for relatively early on a Friday. The staff did great. The chefs were on point with coaching folks and the bar was quick to get the drinks out. I appreciated the wait staff coming up to clear the trays and empties to help keep the tables uncluttered. The elevator worked and some in our party really appreciated it. Thanks to Vapiano's for making my family and friends feel welcome and special on a very important day in my life. Way to go.....you proved me right.

This place is conveniently located in the 2nd floor of city place Doral!!

The restaurant its self is awesome! It's very large and spacious with plenty of seating on the first floor and second floor. The decor is really sweet and simple with cute plants and intimate lighting at the tables. So the concept is a little different... I would compare it to la centrale in brickell city centre but this one is a lot cheaper and I actually enjoyed the taste of the food more (it could have just been what I ordered; la centrale is a beautiful Italian food hall) so basically you order your food in the back and the chefs grab the pasta of your liking and cook your dish right in front of you! There's a variety of shapes of pastas and if you have read my past kindergarten posts you will see that i have a thing for interesting shaped food!

Carbonara- a classic! I chose spaghetti as the pasta option and it was delicious! You can really taste the bacon

Scampi spinache- BEAUTIFUL!! The sauce is a white creamy base mixed with pesto, spinach and cherry tomatoes! Shrimp was mixed in and it was lovely

Both were topped off with parmesan cheese! Awesome place! Highly recommend

It was pretty good. Other than the whole "self-service" thing. The concept is fine, but I think they need a better way of explaining it to customers. We went last night and the 6 of us were running around confused.

For example, I was asked what I wanted to drink at the "salad" line. Nobody told me I had to go to the bar to get my drink. We just figured it out when nobody was getting drinks with their meals. Why ask what drink you want if you're not going to provide it, you know?

But the food was good. Everyone liked their meals. And the prices were pretty good for the quality. I'd go there again.

Oh and I don't remember what I ordered. Some salad with shrimp in it.

I would give this place 5 stars for its food but the service is terrible. We stumbled upon this place after watching a movie and the cinema next door to it. When we walked in, the hostess just handed us two cards with no explanation. We weren't sure if we were supposed to wait to be seated, if there were menus, where to order, what to order. Nothing. The hostess had a line of people waiting to pay so she couldn't pay attention to us. Perhaps they should have someone taking payment and someone greeting and explaining the process.

So the way it works, as we found out on our own, is that you walk up to a station and tell one of the cooks what you want. There are different stations for pizza, soup/salad, pasta/risotto, and drinks/desserts. Each station swipes the card we were given by the hostess and at the end, she swipes your card for the total bill.

There were only two cooks when we went -- one who split herself between the pizza and salad stations and another cook at the pasta station. Neither one acknowledged us -- again, the I can't express how rude the service is. As I walked up to the cook, I told him I wanted the featured risotto and he told me they were out of risotto so I asked him to make me pasta with the same ingredients. He asked which pasta which I then asked what type of pastas they had, and he answered impatiently as if I should already know this information. He then handed me a pager and looked away. Again, I wasn't sure what to do next -- do we take a seat? Does someone seat us? Where do we go for our drinks? Any question we asked, we were made to feel dumb for asking.

As for the food -- it was delicious. Absolutely delicious! Pasta was al dente and I had mine topped with peas, a creamy cheese sauce, asparagus, pine nuts, pears, and spinach. So freaking good. We also had bruschetta which was topped with fresh basil and tomatoes.

We'll definitely be back if we're ever at City Place again, but I really hope they read the reviews and fix their service asap!

This is an annoying place to eat at. I spent $60 and had to get up for every little thing I needed. We ordered 2 pizzas, 2 pasta dishes and 2 deserts...We got up 4 times just to get the food ( you have to order from different stations) then if you want a drink you have to go to the bar... went a total of 4x (glasses are small) wanted plates had to get up again... wanted parmesan cheese had to get up again got told by the pasta side to go to the bar then got told by the bar to go to the pasta guy... that was interesting .... wanted a container to go for one of the desserts and that was another mission standing at the bar while someone figured out where the Togo containers where. At the end you go up to the lady to ring you up and you give her the card to cash you out... at this point I was so annoyed I just wanted to get the hell out of there!

      Food:
spinach ravioli in Alfredo sauce and they cooked it Al dente (you can't cook ravioli like that bc the seams around the edge don't get cooked right so it was just raw pasta. No flavor AT ALL!!

1/2 pizza during happy hour that was awesome

Cheese pizza fantastic (I added feta)

      Veggie pizza sucked

      Terimisu bland

Nutella cheese cake tasted like it had gone bad!!!
