This is a great place to meet up after work with a large group. Since it's a hall, everyone can eat something different for dinner and no one has an excuse to not find something. There's a bar for drinks, mako matcha for coffee tea and desserts, Brett's deli for sandwiches, Briggs also for sandwiches, international chicken house which has great tenders and sandwiches, and a Japanese place I didn't try yet that I think is by ippudo. I definitely recommend!

The day after Christmas the family went out for the day. We stopped by Urbanspace because no one wanted to eat the same thing.
There is so much good food here. My husband got Roberta's Bee Sting Pizza. It's a perfect balance of chewy, sweet, hot, and savory. My son got the 2 baos 3 dumplings combo. The deep fried dumplings were a pleasant surprise. The skin was crispy and the inside was juicy. The pork belly bao with the pickled vegetables was also very good. My son who usually hates the pickled vegetables said it added a nice balance to the bao. My daughter got the chicken tikki masaala wrap from Mysttik Masaala. It was quite big and filling. It was also $2 cheaper than the one at Bryant Park. I had a bacon cheese burger at Bash Burger. The beef was juicy and the bacon was crispy. It was a solid burger. All the meals were under $15. There were plenty of seats that day and the staff went around making sure the space was clean.
It's a nice place to go for people who like choices of good food.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 24, 2023
Love the variety of restaurants that Urbanspace offers -- many different types of cuisine to choose between. And a decent amount of high-top table seating room as well.
The tricky thing about rating this place is that I had two very different experiences from the two restaurants our group ordered from. First, we ordered pizza, and were told it would take around 7 minutes. While we waited, we ordered a chicken masala bowl and some pita. The Indian restaurant made our order on the spot and got it out to us within three minutes. The food was amazing and the Masala restaurant gets 5 stars for its food and service. After we've finished eating (mind you, we've ordered, received the order, and eaten all of the Indian food by now), we still haven't gotten our pizza, so I go and check on it, and they say it will be ready shortly. Another ten minutes go by, and still nothing, so I go back and literally watch them make the pizza -- 35 minutes after we've placed our order and the worker told us it would be 5-7 minutes. The pizza was decent, but 1 star for the pizza venue for its awful service.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - David E.Manhattan Valley, Manhattan, NY2610012Nov 21, 2023
Place is disgusting. Awful design. Depressing.
Nowhere to eat the slop they serve / the few seats were taken with some kind of bizarre bar scene.
I ate at the Greek stall. Was passionless and subpar.
Stay away.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Nov 19, 2023
Food hall located just north of the MetLife building and Grand Central. Rotating 18-20 shop restaurants and food stalls, and very busy at lunch. Small tables, though, high ceilings and staffers going around cleaning. While their trash is labeled for compost, trash and recycle, they just dump everything into any of the trash containers. Not a good start there.
They have pizza, ramen, desserts, sandwiches, and more - lots of variety for folks, though no speakers so if you want to wait on your number, better stick close.
Very long lines at one point during lunch.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Oct 27, 2023
Came here for lunch to pass the time before an appointment after getting off Amtrak. I came at prime lunch hour ~ 12:40-1:00ish. And wow was it packed but I still managed to find a seat; though, it did feel cramped-was sitting elbow to elbow with my neighbors...but what isn't cramped in NYC...
I ended up getting a very generous amount of salad at extravert. The thai chicken and peanut salad was delicious--and had a bit of a kick from the jalapeños. Could not finish it all; even though i started as famished.
The tables were being cleaned promptly by the staff, and it definitely kept the table sitting moving!
I did not see a water fountain, but know that a lot of vendors had bottled water for sale.
Would definitely love to come back and try some of the other vendors.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1865834995Sep 27, 2023
Pretty cool food hall for a quick bite to eat or chill with friends. Many styles/choices of food to choose from. We went for a poke bowl spicy salmon $15.99 and a lamb pita wrap $12.95.
Poke bowl was ok, but the pita wrap was legit - juicy flavorful meat, sprinkle of fries, and a decent size pita. Tummies we're satisfied.
Lots of table seating inside.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jan 1, 2024
Packed, lot of people and food stalls. Loud and busy. Went with a friend to try the color of chocolate pop up from former city bakery hot chocolate creator. Hot chocolate was good. Not a lot of space to sit, but a casual place to meet friends for a drink or bite.

Very depressing interior, but have tried for location convenience.
Yesterday I ordered two wraps at the Indian stand. Disgusting. Despite being in a curry sauce, the chicken was so dry it was inedible. We threw both wraps away after two bites. Of course, the two bites were enough to give me stomach and bathroom issues later.
This is the third time trying Urbanspace's int'l stands. The others were the Vietnamese one--now closed--and the Mexican. All were subpar, but the Indian stand was the worst by far.
Wouldn't waste my time or money here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 29, 2023Updated review
Today I ate a quick bite of a chicken puff from Lady Wong. As I wasn't very hungry and didn't want to spend a lot of money this puff fit the bill. At $6.75, the puff was warm, tender and flaky. Frankly I could have eaten two but sometimes I have to use financial self control. The lady at this food kiosk was friendly and told her that I would be back. The atmosphere today was still busy as most of the seating was occupied. Security guards are efficient and cleaners make sure that tables are ready for the next customer. I like coming here.

Thank you for your kind words - we also love Roberta's pizza and LaPalapa tacos. So glad you had room for dessert from Partners coffee. See you soon!
Apr 27, 2023Previous reviewWhat should I eat today? Roberta's pizza? Carnita Tacos? Lobster Roll? Perhaps a smoothie and then a glazed doughnut from Dough? Urbanspace Vanderbilt is my favorite and is the first food hall created by the Urbanspace company. One can eat very nicely on a different cuisine every day of the week and feel satisfied. I know that I do. Whenever I am in this part of town I drop in to see what catches my eye. This time I ate two baos: Peking Duck and Pork Belly. Both were luscious and I almost wanted to get seconds. Since the pandemic all the prices here have risen which makes second helpings a tad pricey. I always like to end with a Cortado and a slice of the lemon pound cake from Partners Coffee. I sat there to savor these two tasty treats.
Service at both food kiosks is excellent and friendly. Restrooms are located to the side of this cafe which is essential at a food hall.
