It's not only a salon, it's a gem of place that feels more like thoughtful wellness and care. The time spent here on highlights and cut recharges and inspires me. Never had this type of care from any other salon. It's a privilege to watch such masters at working their craft. Highly recommend.

I have been in the Atlanta area for 20+ years and have just now found a salon where the stylist knows how to do my hair. I am so excited! Finally! The whole experience was great!!!

This was the worst haircut I've ever gotten in my life.
After calling and calling and calling (they didn't answer, or said they'd call me back and never did) I finally managed to make an appointment. The owner was extremely late to our appointment. I told her exactly what I wanted and showed her several pictures of myself with my hair freshly cut. I just wanted a trim to maintain my current style. I have long, wavy layers and long side swept bangs. She cut several inches off my hair, at least four, and gave me SHORT, straight across bangs. It was all I could do to pay and leave without bursting into tears.
It was a hideous haircut and practically the opposite of what I'd asked for. Even my friends, who are nice, complimentary people, couldn't lie and tell me it looked good. One offered to let me borrow any of her hats or to have some of her bobby pins. Another couldn't hide her horror when we skyped later that week and she saw me. They really are lovely people, it was just too terrible to pretend. I couldn't look at my reflection for weeks, and it took months of growing and another hair cut before I felt even remotely like myself again.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Christine G.Atlanta, GA405716Mar 9, 2018
So impressed with Tutor - Dee and her team are not only masters of their technique but are also dedicated to creating a highly personalized, nurturing experience.

Great salon, Highly recommend!
The staff are knowledgeable and always ready to answer any questions you may have during your visit. The atmosphere is relaxed and pairs well with the cup of tea they offer the second you walk in the door (I'm not even a tea fan but you have to try it!) I love that they call and email me regarding my appointment time in the week leading up to my appointment, especially in cases where I schedule a haircut 3 months out. Last but not least, if you're looking for a colorist, you must check out TUDOR.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Carolyn D.Colorado Springs, CO110817Jun 5, 2014First to Review
Tutor is all-around amazing. I recently moved to Atlanta from California where my tresses were only allowed to be cared for by a dear friend and hairstyling genius. We both cried at my last appointment, not knowing if my next haircut would be up to par for both our standards.
Well Tutor kept my standards and even added a little extra awesome! The colorist consulted with me on my color and assured me if I needed more pop she would add pop! It was perfect the first time around and I have received nothing but compliments. While I was cooking the apprentice gave me an excellent hand massage and great conversation. The entire atmosphere was relaxing.
Now for the cut. L.D. is a rockstar. She spent more than 2 hours giving me one of the best pixie cuts I've ever had or seen. Her precision is unbelievable and the pride in her work is very apparent. She even showed me the best technique for drying my hair and styling it both super fun and punky and sleek and sassy. They have won me over and I am definitely going to stay a regular client.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Andy K.Lindbergh, Atlanta, GA14013947Mar 18, 2017
The owner of this salon is a sweetheart and a great neighbor to us. We are glad she is here. If you are looking for a spa like experience we highly recommend tutor.

I visited Tutor to see the amazing Meredith. She recently moved here from a different salon and it was well worth the drive inside the perimeter to see her. The salon is decorated beautifully and smelled fantastic. I was offered tea/coffee/water upon my arrival. Prices are reasonable and my cut/color look great! I'll definitely be a regular here.

This is the most poorly managed "high end" salon I have ever encountered.
They made a major scheduling error and then, instead of doing what it took to correct their error, they informed me that "things happen."
I get that they want to cultivate a Zen vibe. But they're still a business and should conduct themselves thusly. This was an appointment I made in person, and which they had called to confirm. It wasn't until my arrival that I learned of the change.
I've encountered other scheduling hiccups in the past. They rely heavily on an answering machine instead of a "front end" person. And, in the past when I had left messages about an upcoming appointment, they called me back clearly without having heard my message. (They just hit redial I suppose.) But I dismissed those incidents because the inconveniences were only minor.
I should have listened to my gut.
We won't be back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
