I've gone here before between 2013 and 2014. At first it seemed fine, but then I realized how strict they were. Whenever their was something different going on, nobody would tell me until the day it happened. I have a learning disability, you have to have a journal to write and remember the moves. I had a lady who helped me. But then she stopped showing up after the class that I took and NEVER seen her since so It was hard for me to try to write in my journal. I kept missing class because I would get nervous. I called them up after my contract was over. A lady told me nobody has ever quit, which I think is bs. And I didn't appreciate an instructor yelling out in class and pointing at me "no more missing class!" After that I quit.

Other than that everybody was nice, the dojo is nice. I just didn't like how they were so strict like as if it was the military.

I can't base my review on actual class, because no one actually responds.... This is solely based on professionalism and lack of communication. We never signed up. Anyhow we found an amazing place in Vacaville and can't wait to start

My kids and their cousins have been in TRK for a little over 5 years now. The weaving of discipline, self defense, and family oriented training Grandmaster along with the amazing black belt team continue to be a major impact in our boys lives. I highly recommend Tony Ramos Kajukenbo if you're looking for a life long learning, discipline, self defense and fun experience for all levels. I am so glad and happy to be part of the TRK family.

I started out expecting to learn karate, but I thought it was weird that they forced us to pray, because obviously a karate school isn't a church. And a lot more of my experience there seemed like they were more pushing a religion onto me rather than teaching me karate. Nonetheless, I felt extremely uncomfortable.

This place is extremely cultish. In regards to the actually self defense everything you do is choreographed. All the classes throughout the week are choreographed and do not teach useful self defense. If you have kids please do not enroll them thinking they will be able to defend themselves after taking classes... they won't. I will say the people are nice but they simply do not teach useful techniques. *watch GM tik toks at dva tactical they are almost laughable. I definitely would recommend a different dojo. Also the culture around quitting in this place is weird. It's almost as if you're made to feel bad about quitting and moving on in life when you terminate your contract.

This is a wonderful school, i took my son there 8 years ago and he loves it still to this day. He has learned so much not only in martial art but in family values which i am very big on,and they also teach the importance of education. Not only dose my son study here but my daughter has been going along with my wife. it is a school that the teacher earn the knowledge that they pass on the there students.

This martial arts school really has it together. Not only have they been in Fairfield since 1962, they teach black belt excellence, along with discipline, honor, integrity, and are very family oriented! I have trained here for years when I lived in Fairfield and could not imagine going to any other school. My daughter trained here, too. There is a very strong feeling of "Ohana", and the younger students are required to keep up their grades if they wish to go up for their ranks. They are taught the importance of school and family. Younger students learn the value of respecting their elders and most importantly, respecting themselves. They learn to only use their martial arts in defense and not to show off. The dojo is kept clean and organized. Bonus: you learn a vast amount of kajukenbo history, too. 10 out of 10 recommend for anyone!

Great staff, clean facility and very knowledgeable instructors. This is a place any parent would feel comfortable training their child... and while your there, check out the adult courses!

Visited this place with my 11 yr old son one night coz he wanted to learn self defense. Nice and clean place. There were a number of kids as well as adults. Was approached by a tall chunky kid that seems to be a blackbelt, but doesn't look like one. Observed for about 15 minutes. Instructors seems to be all overweight. Not sure who is the head instructor. A little apprehensive to enroll my kid there. It looks pricey as well. Not sure if the instructors can actually kick since like i said, they are all overweight. I have been in other karate schools and their instructors look very tough. This school, not so sure. Well i guess we just have to keep on looking for the right school for my son since this one is definitely not it.
