I been in this place few times already, the place is awesome and do very very sharp haircuts and the barbershop super clean ask for Arthur or Greg they even offer complimentary shots

Okay just to be fully transparent this review should be rated at a 4.5 but i couldn't find the way to do half star.

The guys did a great job today. I questioned them before I sat in the barber chair as one should do when you have 4a-4c hair. (I have waves to be exact.) I am not at elite level rn..... im retired...

But i got a Mid/low drop Fade with a 1.5 (with the grain) on top. I think they did well today for only charging $40 in West Village. As an NYU student I was able to bargain them down to less than $35.......but i advise you not to try this unless you have your ID on you.

My only complaint is that my barber didn't spray me with the hot sauce at the end of the cut but ill be sure to let them know next time I go.

This only gets two stars, because I got a good haircut here once, but today I went in and this guy gave me a haircut so bad that I immediately had to go out and buy a hat to cover it up. It's not that he was technically a bad barber, it's that he totally ignored me and did something terrible.

I went in with hair that had gotten a bit too shaggy and I asked to tidy it up and give it a bit of a trim. The guy said 'short, right?'

I said, 'not too short, just a bit shorter.'

'Like mine right?' (he had very short hair)

'No, not that short, just a bit shorter and like, tidy it up a bit.'

He then proceeded to shave the sides of my head and when I told him it was too short, he disagreed and gave me what I can only describe as the 'Richard Spencer', then charged me $40.

I got four blocks away, wincing at my reflection in store windows and looking like I'm about to march on Charleston and now I own a brand new hat.

Now I really do not want to look like a white supremacist, so I'm obviously going to have to get this situation fixed somewhere else.

I now hate this place.

Village Cuts is always on-point with their service. The barbershop itself has great ambience, their staff give off amazing vibes, clean & friendly atmosphere and most importantly they pay very close attention to the detail of each & every haircut. I didn't feel rushed, Greg took his time to bring my sexy back!

I just moved to the neighborhood from California and needed a haircut. Had no idea where to go but found this place on Yelp. I'm fairly particular about haircuts and got a fade (Greg was the barber) and it didn't disappoint at a reasonable price. Will be returning.

I've tried every place in the neighborhood. I think I've found a great place to get my haircut. AG did a great job

Greg gave my son an amazing cut very professional! He had his mask on the place was very clean and he entertained my son. Will definitely go back!

Extremely unprofessional and unclean! They take appointments and do not keep them. I called up at 7:10pm on Friday and spoke with Greg (the owner) and I would be there in 15 mins. He confirmed he would wait. I reached at 7:23pm (13 mins later) and the salon has a deserted look with only one assistant. I ask him where Greg is and he says his basement flooded in Queens and he left. It wasn't even raining, just a slight drizzle.

The salon is extremely dirty with hair lying all around and they don't wash their hands after sneezing or cover up while coughing. Extremely poor hygiene standards! Stay away from this place or you will catch a flu!

Greg is on the phone continuously while cutting your hair and speaking incessantly in Russian! Or they're talking to each other in Russian. Seems like a weird place. Stay away!

I had my first professional haircut in 5 years here. Finding a barbershop with a comfortable atmosphere has been difficult with my anxiety, but I finally went into Village Cuts and I'm very happy that I did. I loved the end result (it's been a LONG time since I've received a haircut that I was THIS happy with.) I was welcomed, enjoyed my experience, and left exceedingly satisfied. I'm planning my next visit here as I type this.
