The cucumber martini is top notch, I can taste the cucumber and it's not too strong for my taste and I prefer that. Ordered the cobb salad, its farm to table so you could taste the fresh lettuce, onion and tomato. The mushroom is savory and tasty. I had the lamb chips perfectly cooked from the sauce to the meat.
Service is 5stars, every one is attentive even the manager.
For a date or any type of celebration, the ambiance here is definitely fine dining.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 3, 20241 check-in
Ambiance: it's very classic and super spacious inside, the dining room was divided into several sections, the main hall right after the the entrance including a full bar service, on the left hand side of entrance next to the waiting area, a smaller but bright dining room, then followed by two area one for sofa booth, and then regular tables right in front of the kitchen area
Service: super friendly and knowledgeable with their food, attentively refilled water and cleaned the table
Food & Drink: classic steakhouse menu with appetizers, main courses and sides lasting for over ten years, and seasonal farm menu changes every two weeks
Bread Basket with Butter - **** the wagon-wheel bread is made up of seven different rolls types, Dark Squaw, Brioche, Cranberry and Walnut, Multi-grain, Jalapeño, Sweet Portuguese, and Sourdough, it's shaped like a flower, and I like the cranberry one the most
58 OZ. COWBOY RIBEYE - **** Grafton Farms White Cheddar Scalloped Potatoes, Bordelaise Sauce, cooked perfectly medium, melting in your mouth, although there's a lot of fat part, recommend
LOBSTER MAC N' CHEESE - **** Vermont White Cheddar / Home-Made Pasta, recommend
MILKY WAY - **** República del Cacao Chocolate / Malted Nougat, Salted Caramel Ice Cream, creative way deconstructing the candy bar, layers of flavors, recommend
TAHITIAN VANILLA BEAN CRÈME BRÛLÉE - **** Seasonal Madeleines, recommend
PIE IN THE SKY - *** Grey Goose Vodka / Fresh Lemon Juice / Muddled Blueberries, House-Made Cinnamon-Vanilla Simple Syrup / Ginger Beer, light fruity taste
Price: premium quality and expensive items, and the meal costs $150+ per person, I would still recommend this place for the overall experienceHelpful 6Thanks 1Love this 5Oh no 0 - Andre S.Los Angeles, CA612913Apr 26, 2024
This place is ranked as the best steak in orange county but let me tell you.... Whoever ranked them is a liar.
The steak, along with the rest of the food here stinks. Bland, flavorless and overpriced
Came here for a nice date night and we both are leaving unsatisfied and disappointed.
The highlight of our evening was the great service by the our waitress. She knew the menu by heart and was kind and courteous.
However the owner (or manager) treated us like unimportant minorities. He walked by our table multiple times to check on other guests and ask them how they liked their food. But never once stop and asked us.
For clarity i am a black male and my gf is a Persian female. The guests he did check on and talk to were white. He treated them like royalty.
Place sucks. Dont waste your timeHelpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Apr 12, 2024
Skip and DO NOT waste your dinero's here and head over to Fleming's, Ruth Chris, or Mastro's. We will NEVER come to this place ever again! We were recommended to come here from a work colleague. It was Easter Sunday and instead of cooking a nice dinner, we wanted to take our kids to a nice steak house dinner. (it was their first time) They got the steak meal off the kids meal. One of my kiddos wanted fries and the other wanted mashed potato's. Well, the waiter (Jesse) got it wrong and ended up ordering 2 fries instead. (He apparently forgot) We didn't say anything cause they were hungry. We noticed the kid's meat was bloody rare. (2/5) My DH and I split the "cowboy rib eye" with scalloped potatoes. I mentioned medium well (light pink and more done) and we when we received it, it was super bloody rare & looked raw (1/5) Really hard for me to see that as raw meat terrifies me. Even the manager (Chad) and waiter (Jesse) saw it and apologized & took it back & had to re-cooked it (2/5) 2nd time was fine but we had to wait. Steaks are nothing fancy. Sad part...... My two kiddos got major food poisoning by eating here within 12 -24 hours (both ends) sorry for TMI but it was super awful and they were traumatized.
I immediately called and talked to Chad Litten next evening and explained what had happened. There was no empathy on what happened. Chad promised that he would call me back to touch base re: the situation after he talked to his manager (Jordan O'Brian) After 9 days of waiting to hear back from him, I was getting frustrated! I called and talked to the manager above him (Jordon O'Brian) and he was super shady and rude over the phone. Again, no empathy of what had happened and no apologies of Chad calling me back. Jordon did mentioned that Chad was supposed to call me back and he didn't know why he didn't...
He mentioned the case was closed . Apparently Jordon doesn't like kids I could tell by the sound of his voice. Lack of empathy... After that conversation, he said he would call me back after he talked to VP.
He then called me and again had made it sound like it was my problem to deal with and they couldn't do anything about it.
No nothing. He made it sound like I was making it up. My hub had to take the day off of work to help care for one of our kids and my daughter had to miss her field trip that she was looking forward to. Poor thing rarely vomits but she had to take Zofran to make it stop. She mentioned to me that she never wanted to eat at Ranch House restaurant ever again. Poor thing and she loves a good steak. She mentioned she liked dad's steak better.
For the amount of money we spent here ($425!) and to experience what we had experienced, my advice is to skip this restaurant and go to Fleming's or Mastro's Ocean Club. We always had wonderful experiences there! Lastly, we noticed Jesse charged us for a kid's drink that was supposed to be included. The kids's meals were $40 each so the drinks better be included. The 3 positive things I can remember that were good:
scalloped mashed potatoes (5/5) wedge salad (3/5) tart dessert (4/5)and hazelnut desert (4/5)You can go to Fleming's on Tuesday night and get a Tomahawk Tuesday and save a ton of money and get wonderful service. If the Owner Andrew Edwards is reading this, I hope you take these reviews very seriously and hope you have read the same negative reviews of similar experiences from other customers. I still cannot forget the way I was treated from the managers listed above, especially Jordan O'Brian. (just read another review from 4 days ago with same experience)... the rudest manager I have ever encountered in my entire life. At least hire a manager that has good communication skills. It looks like they have gone through a few managers based off the previous negative reviews. It was def. not a true American regional cuisine experience Mr. Edwards. I have never wrote a negative review like this ever. I've never given a restaurant one star, it's a first for me. I was expecting high standards for a high-end, expensive, steakhouse.
We ended up tipping more than we should have. Never again! The end
Ps) the starter multi bread they offer with butter is a joke....dry, no flavor, cold, stale and yuck. Worst bread ever! My Texas toast tastes way better and even Cheesecake Factory bread way better and served fresh & warm... usually you can't stop eating bread, but this bread nobody wanted more of. Even with butter or ranch on it, it didn't even taste good (1/5)Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 3 - May 6, 20241 check-in
The Ranch is a hidden (or not so hidden) gem! Reservations are highly recommended. This time I had an early reservation (5:45p) as we had a large party. Parking is easy to me but some say challenging due to the semi small lot. There is valet and another parking lot next door. We were seated immediately and had the best server! My sister and I shared the Tomahawk. Although it wasn't exactly medium well as we ordered it was still tasty and I took the rest home and cooked to my liking. Despite my "unbothered" attitude about it the manager treated us to dessert because of it. My wedge was top notch per usual. The other orders were great as well as the dessert. As you can tell, I enjoy The Ranch and cannot wait for my next visit.

Top 5 dining experience hands down for me. Quality and execution of the steaks along with the impeccable service made this meal one that I'll remember for awhile. Even my wife, who is a moderate steak aficionado at best, was loving every bite as well. Definitely an elevated, high quality establishment so be prepared to spend a bit. That said, everyone deserves a treat now and then right?
We shared the 50 oz. porterhouse, which was perfectly prepared. I learned that that sous vide their steaks so it's the perfect temp and then baste it so it's charred and full of flavor. All the sides were lovely and drinks were great.
Special shout out to Jesus, our server. He and the team were friendly, attentive and took great care of us!
Highly recommend for a special night out!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 19067963Mar 16, 2024
$6000.00 Louis XIII Rare Cask Cognac kind of a night!
Our friends were treating us to dinner over this past winter holidays. When they recommended "The Ranch", we said sure as this place has been on my radar for being one of the best Steak houses in Orange County.
I had their Chilean Sea Bass that was melt in my mouth! Risotto paired well with the fish. ($64.00)
Ian had their Prime Rib. Our friends recommended trying an end cut, and our waiter (Happened to be named Ian too) was able to score one for us. Ian loved his dish. He could manage to complete only half of the served steak. ($78.00)
Mrs. only wanted to try their Scallop Potato ($15.00) and Green Bean Casserole ($15.00). Being from the Midwest, we are both suckers for Casserole!! She loved these 2 items.
Service by Ian was very good. He was on top of all our requests throughout the evening. Valet parking is convenient and easy.
Unbeknownst to us, our friends had ordered a special toast for us tonight. At the end of our meal, the general manager of the restaurant showed up with a brand new bottle of Louis XIII Rare Cask. He popped the bottle open, used a metal syringe to scoop an Oz each for my friend and I. My jaw hit the floor when he informed us of the price. The drink was smooth, and left a lasting taste in my mouth for a couple of hours. This is a once in a lifetime sort of an experience and I am happy that it happened at this restaurant.
Book your next special day at this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.Helpful 12Thanks 2Love this 11Oh no 3 - Mar 30, 2024
The moment you see the exterior and walk through the entrance this is a restaurant that exudes class and it extends to the exemplary service as well which is prompt, courteous, and efficient. The interior is like a modern farmhouse (think a la like the Yellowstone show) and the ambience is more business casual but not stuffy nor pretentious.
As to the food would consider it all around solid if not spectacular and always consistent which in itself speaks volumes as surprisingly very difficult to find in other establishments. The bread is hot and fresh, the Caesar salad savory, and the steaks with accoutrements are well executed. There are competitors that may do their steak a little better, there may be some that have better ambience, and some that may even have slightly better on service but none balance out across all those categories like The Ranch.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mar 23, 20241 check-in
I wasn't NOT expecting what happened. And how this place is. Don't worry it's all good. Let's get into it.
From the moment I parked to the moment we walked in from the doors opening, to the hostess stand/counter this was a great first impression.
We were a party of 4. They gave excellent corner seating at a booth.
Once we sat down we were attended to immediately.
And it didn't stop there. We were attended to continuously. Probably some of the BEST service at a steak house I've ever received. And I'm not exaggerating.
I've been to your basics BOA, Masteos etc all trash.
THIS was a far different experience. More personal and professional with everything provided. From the menu and its explanation. From the food to the specials.
Our waiter Jose C did an outstanding job. With professionalism, clear speech and easy understanding that all the menu has to offer. From start to finish I don't have a single complaint.
Let's move onto the food.
Ceviche trilogy.
This is as mixed.. the crab one tasted like imitation crab... even though they swear it wasn't... I don't know I think I know my crab lol. It's ok if you use it as a filler for using real crab and that's what they did. But just admit it. That's my only issue.
However the heirloom and lobster mango ceviche was INSANE. Absolutely delicious. Cooked perfectly in citrus. Marinated just right. Highly recommend just asking for those two if possible.
NY strip.
Seasoned and cooked to perfection. Medium rare.
One of the best NY strips I've ever had. Without a doubt.
Five onion soup/french onion soup.
Not too salty. Just the right amount of savory.
Onions caramelized perfectly. Cheese melted perfectly. Can't go wrong with this if you like a good French onion soup.
The drinks were amazing too! They don't skimp on the liquor and mixtures. Had a few and they were outstanding.
I highly recommend the "now you see me"
So would I recommend this place? I think that should be obvious by now. YES. If you like steak houses and want a different atmosphere. A bit more classy and less loud. With a much more sophisticated and older crowd? Go here. Enjoy!Helpful 2Thanks 2Love this 1Oh no 0
