I've been living at The Plaza for almost two and a half years. As someone who has a tendency to move around year after year, this is the longest I've stayed in one apartment. The entire property is very peaceful and quiet, especially if you are near the Zen Garden.
The neighborhood around the Plaza is great. It's quiet, as I walk my dog pretty late at night sometimes and I never have to worry about my safety.
Back when I moved in the leasing process and move in was very easy. The leasing staff are very nice and friendly. The maintenance staff is responsive and no service request ever took more than 24 hours to remedy. Management here is great. Having worked as an account manager that dealt with a lot of large apartment complexes and their management staff, I can say with certainty that The Plaza has some of the best.
In recent time, the water meter for my unit is having some issues but Kevin was quick to remedy this and made sure I wasn't getting over charged for my water usage. At one point it jumped up 10x my normal usage without cause and Kevin was able to work with the utilities company and got it taken care of.

Like several of the other bad reviews here, I had a good experience while living here, but am left with a negative perspective due to the move-out process.
Note that even if you request a pre-move out inspection, they will not do it for you so that you don't have an opportunity to remedy anything that will be deducted from your security deposit. Regardless, I have a feeling that even if they did do my pre-move out inspection, they would still charge for painting and cleaning. They confirmed via email that they charge all tenants for painting and cleaning upon move-out just to turnover the apartment even if there is only normal wear and tear.
Per my research and understanding of the California tenant law, landlords cannot charge for painting when there is just normal wear and tear (which includes minor scuffings, nail holes, etc.). The Plaza claims that these count as damages and not normal wear and tear (also I already indicated scuffing and holes existing on my move-in inspection form but they are disregarding this and stating it is my damage anyways), so I will be bringing this to small claims court for professional guidance since I'm not a tenant lawyer.

I moved into my apartment in January 2020. I moved after my husband passed so I could be close to my son and his family in San Mateo. Believe it or not I had never lived in an apartment in my 75 years...I was a tad anxious, however, that was short lived...
I am on ground level so I wondered about noise from above...I know the unit is rented, but I never hear anything.
i have had to contact maintenance a couple of times,for mostly minor issues...I could not believe how quickly they responded and how professional and knowledgeable they are. I certainly would allow any of the maintenance people in, even If I'm not home...That says a lot for me.
The staff in the leasing office have been very accommodating. I utilized the club room and pool for my grandsons birthday party...They were amazing explaining the rules and helping with deliveries for the party.
They allow dogs and I am so impressed how everyone appears to clean up after them. The owners spend money to maintain a wonderful environment to live.
I hope to meet more people after this COVID is done with. Meeting in the hallway everyone seems friendly...I look forward to socializing more...

Just moved across the country and was looking for a clean and safe place to stay. I have visited a few places in the Foster City and The Plaza facilities, environment and the leasing office team were the best out of them all. Especially, I would like to give a huge shoutout to Danilo - nothing but the truly top notch customer service. Otherwise, facilities are well maintained, a lot of amenities to use and it's a very peaceful neighborhood with a couple of options for food and coffee nearby. Would definitely recommend for future residents.

I lived in this apartment for almost 4years. I love the garage its safe and secure All the staff were very helpful. A special Thanks to Mohammed, Miral and Rosalyn. The visitor parking was ample Very pet friendly, close to everything including easy access to all freeways

My friend and I recently signed our one-year lease with The Plaza Apartments and moved into our apartment. I gotta say it has been so nice living here! The neighborhood is beautiful and very convenient to live in, with coffee shop/restaurants/grocery stores right outside the complex. It's also very safe and well-guarded.
What's more important is that the staff members at the leasing office are always very friendly and helpful. Our leasing agent, Silvina, has been extremely responsive and approachable since we started the touring/leasing process; and even when we have become official residents at The Plaza, she is still always there for us and makes us feel very well taken care of. Whenever we have any questions (e.g., how to pay for our water bills, how to access mail, need help moving heavy packages into our apartment, etc.), we just call or walk into the leasing office, and Silvina and other staff members will help us out.
