What an amazing experience! We randomly stopped with a group of 6 people and the place was so welcoming. We happened to be there at happy hour and 1/2 off for all the starters. We got almost each one and tried family style. Everything was incredible. My favorite was the coconut shrimp. The tuna tacos were up there. Frank got our drinks and orders efficiently and was very nice to meet and chat with. He asked us each where we were from and we all talked about stories from our places. We told him we were going to Austin and he gave us some awesome recommendations for music joints. So happy we stopped here to get some excellent food, drinks and conversation.

Everything we ordered was delicious! The service was amazing! our server Frank was so kind and so funny, and gave us information about what to do in town. We got the coconut shrimp, truffle deviled eggs, tuna tacos, chicken wings, truffle fries, brussels sprouts, lime shrimp salad, and the ribeye to share, and everything was phenomenal. I would highly recommend this place!!! the appentiezers were on happy hour too!! amazing place, and the desert dump cake was off the chain!!

Was looking forward to tonight's visit to the League in Belterra for their Oktoberfest celebration. Had been to one pre-Covid, and it was stellar. Polka bands playing Ein Prosit every five minutes, small but very decent selection of traditional German dishes, choice of German beers. Beer Maidens!! Totally fun evening.
This year the opposite. They advertised "German Inspired Fare," but that amounted to one schnitzel burger which was their burger of the month anyway. That was it! No pretzels, no sauerbraten, no wurst, no spaetzel. No band. No beer maidens. They'd run out of the Alstadt Oktoberfest beer before 6pm, so they substituted a Sierra Nevada attempt (fairly bland), but I got to keep the glass anyway. We should have left then and finished ahead of the game.
But we ordered anyway.
Two orders of the crab cakes from the chefs special menu. They left something out of the mix. Egg maybe, or cornmeal. The cakes were spongey and fell apart too readily. The spicy ailioli was fine, but the cakes were a bland mess. There was a credible amount of crab meat, but the recipe was not well thought out.
We decided to share an order of the fried catfish, again from the chefs special menu. The pictures on their e- newsletter showed a massive hunk of fried catfish on a plate. I should have known better. One problem with catfish is that the larger fish produce cuts that are mealy and bland. That occurs even with wild caught catfish. It certainly occurred with our order. They sacrificed quality for size, perhaps unknowingly. The breading was acceptable, but the fish was egregiously subpar. You can't make up for that with a mountain of French fries.
The only two highlights were our server Isabelle and my companion's Spicy Passionfruit Margarita. Isabelle was cheerful, prompt and attentive. The margarita was spot on and refill-worthy.
League, this is Central Texas with a long history of German immigration dating back close to 200 years and an embedded culture around things Teutonic. And pride in that.
To put on so poor a show and call it Oktoberfest in this locality is a major strategic mistake. Add to that a substandard meal and you get reviews like this.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

Good morning Robert. My apologies for our Oktoberfest in Belterra. This year The Galleria in Bee Cave put on an Oktoberfest of sorts in their green space in front of our Galleria location with activities and live music. We put most of our energy into that event. I grew up in Michigan and really enjoy Oktoberfest seemingly as much as you so I can understand your disappointment in Belterra. I agree with your assessment of the catfish. I prefer much smaller filets as well. With regard to your crab cakes if you woud send me the last 4 digits of the credit card you paid with, I'd be happy to refund them for you. Please email me at cfranklin@tc4.co so I can search for your check.
I hope to hear back from you soon.

TC4 & Co.Dec 12, 2020Previous reviewAnother outing at League. Another mostly fine meal.
Service: Sidney (sp?) was attentive and cheerful. She delivered on time and was extremely pleasant.
Appetizers: the only disappointment. We ordered the coconut shrimp fried tempura style. The alioli was terrific, but the shrimp had stayed overlong in the deep fryer. We've had it before at League and liked it, but the kitchen must have been too stressed this night.
Entre : we both had a weekly special - redfish with shrimp and broccoli in a lemon butter sauce. Stupid good. I love redfish and rarely find it on menus, as commercial fishing is still limited. But I have caught plenty in years past in the Laguna out of Rockport to know just how special it can be. And League did it proud. Flakey but not overcooked. Tender and light. The white sauce was a good choice as it didn't overpower the fish, which tends to be delicately flavored but not 'fishy'. The spinach was also nice, a thoughtful and spare addition. The shrimp complimented the redfish well. League actually paid attention to the side of broccoli, which was perfectly cooked, not mushy and not al dente.
I also had a glass of Kung Fu Girl Riesling. I ordered it mainly because of the name as an impulse. But, surprisingly, it was damned good.
Thanks, League. Cure that overfried coconut shrimp, and you've got a five star review. And, add that redfish dish to the regular menu.Feb 3, 2019Previous reviewWe have dined at the Dripping Springs League location three times now, and all were top notch. First time was just a visit for a beer, but they brought us the deviled egg appetizer because another diner had ordered them to-go and they had prepared them for in-house dining. Nice touch - it pays to befriend the bartender.
Second time, we had the lobster roll sliders. Incredible. BIG chunks of lobster, tomato slices and a rich remoulade. Wonderful. For entres I had the fish and chips, and she had the shrimp cilantro lime salad. Spouse loved her salad - lots of large grilled shrimp and a healthy portion of greens, with corn and avocado. I had the fish and chips. What can I say. It was bar food fish and chips. Good for what it was, but I ordered it more out of nostalgia than culinary interest.
Tonight, we reprised the lobster slider appetize. Again wonderful. She did a reprise on the salad. Said it was good but not as good as last time. I had the pecan crusted trout. STUPID GOOD! Beautifully presented stack of trout filets over a bed of sweet taters and the sauce is to die for. Trout was flaky and they didn't skimp on the pecan crust.
League is a very high-end sports bar and kitchen, but that kitchen can be awesome.
Fifth time. I had the chicken fried pork chop. She has the chicken pot pie. Both were delicious and MASSIVE. Lea
Sixth visit - for lunch. First disappointment. We both order pthe lunch special of the day, 8 oz prime ribs with mashed potatoes and mushrooms. While the treatment was fine, the cut of beef was not. It was tough and very chewy. Also, she ordered hers done medium, and it looked more like medium rare. We asked the waiter to pass the word to the kitchen. Their meat buyer flopped in this instance.
Seventh visit. With friends who were here for the first time. For appetizers we had lobster rolls and deviled eggs, both very good. I had the special - chick-fried NY strip. While I think it's a shame to do that to a NY strip, it was still delicious and incredibly filling. Wife and one friend had the chicken fried pork chop and both were super happy. The other friend had the pecan encrusted trout, which she liked, though she didn't care for the sweet potatoes. All in all a very satisfying 4 star evening.Jan 24, 2019Previous reviewWe have dined at the Dripping Springs League location three times now, and all were top notch. I was browsing Yelp for dinner ideas and came across The League. The menu looked good so my parents and I decided to give it a try. We had a difficult time finding the restaurant because we didn't realize it was in a suite down by the movie theater.
We were greeted immediately by the host and were sat at a booth in the bar area. The bar area was a little cramped, but the booth itself is pretty large.
Service was a bit slow at times, but both of our servers were so nice and attentive! One of our servers was also tending the bar and the bar area was busy so they were holding it down.
Smoked Avocado Margarita - Recommended by one of the servers. It was good and had a slight kick to it.
Truffle Deviled Eggs - I really enjoyed the flavor of these! I could have done without the piece of truffle potato chip, but I did enjoy the scallions and tobiko.
Cobb salad - My stepdad ordered this. It's actually considered an entrée, but he ate it as an app and enjoyed it.
Herb Rotisserie Chicken - The chicken was huge! The seasoning was good and it was served piping hot. I subbed the sweet potato with mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were lukewarm and the gravy was a bit congealed. It would have been better had it been served hot like the chicken. I also wish it would have been a larger serving since the portion of chicken was large. I didn't have enough potatoes for all of the chicken.
Grilled Atlantic Salmon - My parents both ordered this. I had a bite of salmon and ginger broccoli and immediately wished I would have ordered it instead. The flavor was so good and the fish was tender.
Dessert - We were able to get a free brownie and ice cream on the house since it was our first time visiting. We ordered it to go since we were full from dinner. I tried a bite when we got home and was underwhelmed. The brownie was like any ordinary brownie and the ice cream tasted more like vanilla bean instead of homemade vanilla. It was okay, but at least it was free!Helpful 18Thanks 0Love this 11Oh no 0 - Monica R.Lakeway, TX95108Feb 23, 2024

Stopped in to give this place a try since their menu sounded pretty solid, and it was great! Located in a convenient shopping center, this place is upscale casual and has a creative menu that tastes as good as it sounds. Our server was also fantastic - very knowledgeable and sweet.
We tried a variety of things and enjoyed it all. I'll admit the pricing is a bit more than I'd say the food is worth, but it was still good, and nothing disappointed. The fries were delicious and tasted homemade! Everything was made fresh and delivered on flavor and generous portion size. Overall, I'd revisit this place again!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lizz S.Wimberley, TX726833Aug 24, 2023
Oh my gosh! I got to share the love for this place! The food is excellent and the service is really wonderful, too! The two-for-one burgers on Monday are worth the trip for me. Don't forget to ask for your free dessert if this is your first time to the League.
Great atmosphere with lots of big screen TVs and sports in the bar area.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
