We stopped here because it was the weekend in a tourist town and everywhere we were planning on visiting was a 90 minute wait. There is a massive chicken out front so it's hard to miss this place. We stopped at for lunch. While most of the group ordered off the menu, I opted for the buffet because I like a buffet and I think that's the selling point here, right?

For lunch, the cost of the buffet was not too bad at all. The main proteins included chicken tenders, ribs, ham, fried catfish, and a baked fish, and, of course, fried chicken. It's a buffet, so it's fine. The food line was not dressed up, but the food was fine. I liked how the various fried foods had their own batter (and not just using the same batter on everything). The fried chicken meat was good, but the batter could stand a little more everything on seasoning. There is some fruit, but most of it was the canned variety (I like me some canned peaches so that's not totally a problem with me). I didn't try the salad bar.

The theme was farmhouse and there was live music.

The wait staff was attentive and everyone looked like they were picking up, moving things, and keeping busy - even though they were all chill about it and not moving all harried-like.

I do not know why this place gets such a bad rap. I visited here on Thanksgiving Day for lunch. You cannot miss this place, it has a huge chicken standing out front. It definitely catches your eye. They have a decent sized parking lot and a large dining area. They had a guy sitting in the front sining songs. They were only serving buffet lunch during my visit, which was fine with me. We were seated right away and then cut loose to peruse the buffet.

They had salad, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, stuffing, turkey, sweet potatoes, fried okra, mac and cheese, chicken and dumplins, ribs and of course fried chicken. The food was pretty good, especially for buffet food. I really liked the fried chicken, their flagship food and their name sake. The stuffing and ribs were some of my favorites too.

The service was really good. Everyone was very friendly from the hostess, to my server, to the line chefs and food preps. This is Branson, so you will be paying tourists prices, as with most places. It costed a little over $20 per person.

I really enjoyed my Thanksgiving lunch meal here. I would gladly eat here again and recommend this restaurant to others.

The food wasn't fancy, but it was still good. I do like when a place has sweet potato fries, and these were tasty (and waffle-cut!). Service was courteous. We were seated right next to the buffet table, which was nice for those of us who got the buffet, but the buffet line was sort of right on top of us part of the time. That's a little too close to the buffet table. They had someone singing live, but we must have gotten there just as he started his break.

The food was not good at all. the price for the buffet was not comparable to the choices. The peach cobbler was raw and they did not offer any compensation for getting raw food.

We stopped in on a Sunday morning around 11:30. There was a few minute wait before a hostess greeted us and took us to our seats. She explained that they were getting ready to switch from their breakfast buffet to the lunch buffet and gave us our options. We chose to order off the menu, because some of our party already knew they wanted waffles.

Two of us ordered the Chicken House Slam, one ordered the chicken and biscuit, and one waffles. It came out relatively quickly. Our server, Jeff, was on the ball -- very friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed our food.

We were short on time and saw Chicken House so we figured we'd be ok. When going in, it almost feels like you're in a barn, cute decor, clean, and a jolly man was singing and playing the guitar.

Our server was amazing-sweet, young kid (Brandon?) was so friendly. He met all of our needs and with his deep accent, made it an enjoyable time.

I ordered the lemon chicken. It came smothered with pepper, which I do not like. It was tough and I couldn't taste any lemon at all. I ended up eating a few bites and leaving the rest, the green beans had added onions and it was a but spicy. I do t eat onions either, so I left those. So I paid $15.99 for some great okra! My husband said his was good.

I should've sent mine back, but I didn't. It was over cooked and way too much pepper. For the steep price of the meals, I wouldn't recommend this place. It was almost like cafeteria food. Service was good though, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars.

      Buffett was 24.99!!!

The food was extremely bad. Biscuits where so dry like they have been left out all day. The gravy was very little, so basically you are Eating dried biscuits. Daughter and Chicken and dumplings and they where extremely bland.
My wife and Chicken fingers and sweet potatoes. Chicken was extremely greasy.

      Wow.
Get a tetanus shot before entering this place.
Nasty dirty filthy gross , be prepared for some sort of stomach issue.

And all of this is before you even eat anything.

      Bathrooms are ridiculously filthy.

You can tell what the kitchen looks like by how they keep the bathrooms, same cleaners!

Management is non existent and doesn't care except when you're paying.

Whoever the owner is needs to be written up in a newspaper and not for positive things.

All we heard was how good of a guy he was, we saw first hand how good he was. His restaurant is brutally filthy and the food was worse again.

This place shares a building with the horrible seafood place whippersnappers.

The same issues with lack of hygiene and cleanliness.

Same horrible type bathrooms and seems like they share a kitchen with some of the same food offered.

We saw at least 4 employees on a smoke break at 730!

      Food was horrible .
How can someone honestly believe the owner doesn't know these things , he's just after mighty nick from tourists.
Someone needs to warn these biases and tourists to stay away.

All these reviews can't be wrong.

The wait staff was great. The food on the breakfast buffet was terrible. Kind of hard to ruin breakfast food but they succeeded.
