      Is there parking?

      A:

There's only street parking. If you can find it, there are some other local places around that allow you to park in their vacant lots. Just read the signs.

Nestled in the heart of the Alphabet District, The Fireside offers a perfect culinary experience. With an ambiance that strikes a balance between old time chic and cozy elegance, the restaurant sets the stage for a memorable brunch experience. However, while the food tantalizes the taste buds with its delectable flavors and artful presentation, the service falls disappointingly short, leaving much to be desired.
Despite the exceptional quality of the food, the overall experience is diminished by the subpar service. Unfortunately, the brunch experience is marred by lackluster service that fails to match the excellence of the cuisine. Throughout the meal, there are noticeable delays in taking orders and bringing out dishes, leaving me feeling neglected and frustrated. The waitstaff is inattentive, lacking professionalism.
I still recommend The Fireside for brunch with an excellent presentation, taste, portion and flavors. I can't take anything away from that.

I joined a group of friends for dinner here. I loved the vibe of this place.

I had an aromatic G&T that blew me away along with dinner. I honestly don't recall what I had for dinner - I was more into my drink and my kick-ass company. So it didn't leave a big impression on me. I do recall our server was "meh" could take a lesson in customer service due to the lack of what I experienced.

If you're looking for a spot with a good atmosphere and a good drink give it a try.

I have been looking for a modern restaurant/bar that has a cozy vibe, specifically, one with a fireplace. It's not easy, so when I came across pictures of this place, I wanted to try it. We've been to Portland multiple times and I always missed an opportunity to visit, until last night. We are in town to celebrate my wife's birthday, so I managed to get a reservation for 9:00 pm. When we arrived, we were immediately seated, and we got to sit right in front of their big fireplace near the entrance. This was the cozy vibe we were looking for. The music was upbeat but chill, and the service was great.

The food menu was not big, but everything on it sounded good. We ordered some the cheese and charcuterie board, Brussels sprouts, half roasted chicken, ribeye kabobs, and the French dip. Everything was AMAZING. Very delicious. The charcuterie board had a great and tasteful variety, the chicken was very tender and juicy, the French dip was delightful, the kabobs grilled perfectly, and the Brussels sprouts.. OMG..bomb. So far, the best I've had in any restaurant. We also ordered their spiced Bundt cake and it was very yummy. What a great way to finish our meal.

Honestly, one of my new favorite spots. The vibe was exactly what we had hoped for, the food exceed our expectations, and the service was great. Overall, a must-try and will continue to try. Perfect for an intimate dinner and drinks.

Sitting outside, we could hear the street performer on the corner while we sipped beers and chatted. The weather was cold, but with the heater on, I could take off my jacket. We also ordered some mussles, which were wonderful. It is not a large portion, but there was plenty of bread to soak up the broth.

My wife and I stopped in for a quick bite and a drink while doing some shopping on NW 23rd, and enjoyed the experience from start to finish. Impeccable (if slightly snobbish) service, a bombastic Bloody Mary with all the trimmings, a potent yet pleasurable Spicy Lemon Ginger Turmeric Toddy (wonderfully soothing for anyone suffering from a cold!), and a side of tick cut bacon and Zenner's sausage (unbeatable!): we call that "living the high life", folks!

On a warm/clear day this has the best ambiance in the area. It sits right on 23rd street and the top half of the walls are all windows which open upward and give an indoor-outdoor fusion to the space, you can hang your arm over the wall and feel like you're getting the liveliness of the neighborhood while enjoying a meal.
I started with the orange creamsicle, maybe i just had different expectations but i didn't love it. So watery, i wanted it to have a thicker creamier texture.
The food was okay, i got a burger and my friend had the vegetarian bowl. Her bowl was kind of slim pickings and the burger was cool. The setting is what sells this place, next time I'll just have a drink and maybe try a different plate.

Came in for dinner on a Friday night. Sat at the bar, with no wait. Small wait for an inside table. Bartender was really nice to begin, but she got increasing agitated with the number of orders coming in as the evening ran on - I don't blame her, but she could've used some help manning the bar.

Ordered the French dip sandwich, was pretty spot on. Roasted carrots took 40 minutes, but eventually did show up. Sipped on a strawberry mule. Beer selection looked good.

This bar is located in cool hipster neighborhood in Portland!

The outdoor sitting is nice but we sat inside!

I love Mezcal so as soon as I saw Desperado, I ordered.

This Cocktail is very strong and spicy. The presentation comes with fire on which is very fun to watch.

      Love it!

The Cheeseboard was very exciting as well, the jam tasted homemade and cheese was good quality.

      Totally recommend this place!

I met my bestie from Portland here for dinner and it just reminded me of why I still love Portland, though I haven't lived here in 20+ years. NW 23rd Street hasn't changed and Fireside fits right into the neighborhood. I started with their well-crafted take on a Manhattan, inhaled the roasted Brussel Sprouts, thoroughly enjoyed the Garden Salad with Blackened Shrimp (perfectly prepared and satisfying as a main dish) and ordered the warm brownie dessert knowing full well I was already full. I asked our lovely server if it was enough to share and she said, oh yah, it's huge. And I thought to myself, no desserts are "huge" anymore; we are going to be fighting over the last bite. But she wasn't lying, that brownie was monstrous and so chocolatey with warm chocolate sauce flowing over the sides and melting a big scoop of ice cream. We didn't finish it (that was a first ;).
