Vanilla Bean Night Goat is worth the trip, as is War Horn. Here late Jan. and the fall flavors were running out. Can't wait to try the summer selections and sit outside.

Absolutely one of if not my favorite brewery (even though I live 50 mins away)
The hubski and I Went there on a Saturday evening with a friend of ours and we LOVED it. I honestly liked every beer I tried and that's rare in a brewery. The owner is amazingly friendly too :)
I decided that the astronaut dreams is my fave and even got a growler to take home.
Love how clean, simple and not fussy this place is and Will definitely be back!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 23, 2020
Love this place and their beer! Bartender serving us is always friendly and helpful. We normally get a big flight and share it. The beer is amazingly good. Normally some old classic on the TV which makes for good discussion. Along with flights , you can by a glass, or get from the fridge to go. Been here twice now and always left happy.

I will probably never get back to Devil's Trumpet. We stopped in on a road trip. You're never going to stumble on Devil's Trumpet, but it's there, tucked into an industrial offshoot of a large commercial strip.
The space itself is nice, although dark, and the theme is a little dark as well - which is to be expected with a name like Devil's Trumpet. As a weird, positive surprise, the bathrooms were impeccably clean and very nicely appointed. I would hire whoever did the bathrooms to do my house. When you see that attention to detail in an unexpected place, you can assume that it's there in other places you don't see too, which I appreciate.
We sampled several of their Pale Ale/ IPA's. At first, they were very good. As they sat for just a moment, they didn't hold up as well, but I think there is promise there.
I rounded up to 4 stars on this one not really because of our visit, but because I think they can 'grow into it' a little. If you're in this area, stop in for a visit and check it out for yourself.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Samantha S.Merrillville, IN6088Apr 18, 2019
I've been here twice in a month. The atmosphere is super mellow a great low-key place to chill and knock back some fantastic beers, ales, and stouts. Would highly recommend checking this spot out. Nitro Goat and Astronauts Delight were amazing. In no particular order.

Situated in the back of an industrial area, this brewery was a nice surprise. They have a decent patio in the parking lot and a nice, dark taproom. The bathrooms were clean, too. The beer was decent with a nice variety, but nothing stood out as fantastic. The bartender was friendly.

I've been here a few times and it's always great. The staff are really nice, fun, and funny, and the beer is really good. This time around I had the Vanilla Porter (forgot the name) but I usually get the chocolate taco.
This place doesn't serve food, and is non-smoking. It's a nice place to visit and hang out with friends, especially in the summer.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Andy D.Naperville, IL6115387Aug 3, 2019
Great beer selection. The server had a very extensive understanding of the menu. I'd recommend this brewery for anyone looking for a place to grab drinks before dinner or a great place to hang out after dinner.

I really like The Devil's Trumpet brewery...when you go there. Lemme 'splain:
- Overall, the beers are tasty. Almost all of them are.
- They have a variety: instead of just having IPAs like a lot of breweries, you'll find stouts, barleywines, sours... there's always a nice mix.
- Some of their beers I would say are EXTREMELY good: Vanilla Night Goat, Heaven's Court, Cherry Deee-light, English Muffin... I bring my out of town friends here because of these types of beers.
Here's the issue(s):
- They do have "Heaven's Court Day" but they don't really know what to do with it. It's their answer to "Dark Lord Day" from Three Floyds which has become such a money grabbing circus, I know people are actually stepping away from the FFF insanity festival. Great... we can go to Heaven's Court Day. Last year there was no cover and they allowed kids... until the plastic fence which they could not enter. Two years ago they charged a cover charge of $10. The Surfaholics played which was great - they're always good - but the set up isn't convenient and you kind of can't stand (or sit) anywhere near the band and expect to have a conversation. It's WAY too loud. Put the band in a corner, don't have tables right next to them, and have them turn their amps down a little bit. No one was singing along so the music doesn't have to be turned up to 11. Also, the Heaven's Court beers are EXPENSIVE. I know you want to do Dark Lord Day but you're not FFF and this isn't Dark Lord. If you want to gain a following, sell your rare beer at a price we can afford so we can buy extras to share with our friends and spread the word about your brewery. Don't make it so we can only buy one (or last year, a four pack) and not share it with anyone. You can buy draft beer there for $5 a pop which is nice. You can get rares and I really do like their Heaven's Court Day. They rent tents so in the sun, you won't roast.
- Their bottled beer. My lord. I don't know if they don't know how to package their beers but WELL OVER 50% OF THEM EXPLODED. Look online. People gripe about this all the time. When I DO buy their bombers (which I'm doing much more rarely now), I have to open them over my sink because chances are they will explode and I'll lose half of the beer. At that point, you're worried about the QUALITY of the beer - and you should be. Many of the beers taste sour or oddly carbonated. Something is simply wrong with their packaging.
I brought this up numerous times to the bartenders who want to blame everything but their brewery for their problem but this doesn't happen to any other bombers by any other brewery. I had an Occupancy 46 which I had saved for a holiday to share with family and friends. It BURST when I opened it and it tasted like fizzy sour trash. When I had it in the DT Tap room, it tasted like sweet, smooth hot chocolate flavor. SO confusing.
I'm happy to give them three stars for their taproom experience (kids are not allowed, btw) but I should also have the option of enjoying their beer at home. Knowing that more than half of what I buy in liquor stores or in their taproom in bottle form will explode is NOT a good gamble.
Final verdict? Drink there: good! Bring beers home: bad.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kay J.Schererville, IN9850689Feb 9, 2016
Nice selection of beer and we enjoyed all we tasted.
In all fairness, it has been a few months since we visited Devi's Trumpet and I hope that they have added food. When we visited you could buy a chunk of cheese (in the plastic wrapper) and jerky. We wanted to eat but it was... odd.
The pub is very nice. Quiet and well decorated. The bartender could have been a little more attentive considering there were 5 people in the bar.
I'll be back with hopes for a 5-star experience.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
