No question that this is the number one premier deck builder on Long Island! PJ and his crew are fair, prompt, highly skilled, kind, and so easy to work with! We have done many construction projects, and the Deck Guy beats them all when it comes to making the project happen comfortably. There was no stress in the estimate phase and during construction, every crewmember was considerate and showed excellence in their trade. The deck came out perfect. There were clean edges and perfect miters, and you could not ask for more. This was the easiest construction project that we've ever done with no headaches and no problems. We highly recommend PJ his crew. Thanks.

PJ and his crew were extremely professional; they did great work, cleaned up their mess, wore masks, and were thoughtful when it came to the safety of our dogs. PJ took the time to sit with us to go over the exact design that we wanted and he delivered exactly what we discussed! They showed up on time and the job was completed within a few days. He kept us up to date throughout the process. We couldn't be happier with the way our new deck turned out. He replaced the old, horrid aluminum decking, disassembly and removal. Installed approx 8' x 15' deck, mix of Fiberon stairs and decking with Trex border and custom railing. He even matched the lattice to the Vintage Lantern color.

In 2019 I had shopped around for an on-ground deck from several companies. The price range from the 5 companies that responded was wild. Although not the cheapest, The Deck Guy was the company we chose. We were comfortable with PJ, the owner, who sat with us as long as necessary as we barraged him with tons of questions. He's obviously a very patient man.
He fully explained how many footings were going to be needed, how far apart they'd need to be, what the whole process was from start to finish.
We were extremely happy with the finished product.
I called him back a couple of weeks later because something looked a little "off" on one step. It didn't bother me, but it could give the false impression to someone else that something was settling. Two of his men came back and took care of it and I was very satisfied.
Last year we called him back for an additional railing on our existing stone steps from the deck to our pool patio. Although it looked to me like he and his team was almost finished with the job when I had last checked on them, they had pretty much disassembled most of what they had just installed. And to top it off, they were working in a torrential rainstorm!
They reinstalled everything. The rain had pretty much stopped, and as we were settling up the invoice, I asked what had happened. PJ explained that the stone step that they had secured a post to had never been cemented down properly and he wasn't comfortable with that. So he secured it himself. That was at least an extra 90 minutes for him and his two guys.
There was no additional charge.
Would I use this company again? Absolutely.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
