Have been back a number of times already (both in the Parlor and in the Taproom) and continue to have great experiences. Was at the Taproom on a Friday evening for dinner, it was busy but felt energetic and lively. Our server remembered us from our previous visits and she was terrific.
The menu changes occasionally and provides some different selections. Tonight we had the Lamb Stew which is one of our favorites and also enjoyed the All Day Irish Breakfast (may seem to be a little unusual to have it for dinner but it was great!)
Highly recommend!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

We're thrilled you had great experiences at our Parlor and Taproom. Delighted you enjoyed the Lamb Stew and All Day Irish Breakfast. Looking forward to your next visit!

Jack McGarry, Managing DirectorSep 22, 2023Previous reviewHad always wondered why The Dead Rabbit - now I know, great food and drink in a lively atmosphere (albeit a bit crowded).
We started with the Crab, Cauliflower and Cheese Fritters which were excellent and for our mains, Lamb Stew, Chicken Pot Pie and Ham & Cheese Toastie - all terrific with perhaps the Lamb Stew standing out the most. For dessert we had the Irish Coffee Tiramisu which was also very good (can actually notice the alcohol).
Friendly staff and our server was great. Have already made a reservation to come back! - Apr 2, 2024
Nestled in the heart of downtown Manhattan's Wall Street area, The Dead Rabbit Bar is a true Irish gem that promises an unforgettable experience for patrons seeking the perfect blend of tradition, quality, and atmosphere. My visit during St. Patrick's Day weekend was nothing short of magical, as I discovered a haven for Irish coffee aficionados and whiskey enthusiasts alike.
After scouring the web for the best Irish coffees in NYC, The Dead Rabbit Bar emerged as a top contender - and boy, did it deliver. The classic Irish coffee was a delightful concoction of rich coffee, smooth Irish whiskey, and velvety cream, perfectly balanced and utterly satisfying. And for a twist on tradition, the frozen Irish coffee offered a refreshing and indulgent take on this beloved classic that had me coming back for seconds.
While the prices may lean towards the higher end, rest assured that every sip and bite is worth every penny. The commitment to quality and premium ingredients shines through in every aspect of the experience, from the meticulously crafted cocktails to the impeccable service.
But it's not just the libations that steal the show at The Dead Rabbit Bar - the ambiance and atmosphere are equally captivating. Stepping into this old rustic Irish pub feels like stepping back in time, with its warm wooden furnishings, dimly lit lanterns, and lively chatter creating an atmosphere that is both charming and inviting.
As for the culinary offerings, the Irish point oysters and corned beef sliders were nothing short of exceptional. Each bite was a testament to the culinary prowess of the kitchen, with flavors that danced on the palate and left me craving more.
Whether you're in the mood for a perfectly crafted cocktail, a delectable bite to eat, or simply seeking the quintessential Irish pub experience, The Dead Rabbit Bar is a must-visit destination in the Wall Street area. Trust me - you won't be disappointed. Cheers to good times and great drinks at The Dead Rabbit Bar!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

The Dead Rabbit is an Irish Pub/Bar that has the traditional bar downstairs (The Taproom) and a more intimate setting upstairs (The Parlor). I've been two times and both experiences have been in the Parlor. The taproom and the Parlor have two different menus. I highly recommend making a reservation as it is hard to get into the Parlor otherwise. It's easier to get into the Parlor room during the weekdays with a reservation and you should probably look weeks in advance just to be safe.
I came with my friend for his birthday and we started off with the Amazake Kick and the Button Down. The Amazake Kick had a perfect amount of sweetness to it and the combination of ingredients makes it a perfect starter. To eat we got the scotch egg, sliders and the fish and chips. The scotch egg was good. I felt the meat between the egg and the breading was a little dry this time but still good overall. The fish and chips were alright. The fries were crisp along with the fish but I felt like the fish was missing a little more flavor. The sliders were good. We ordered a couple of other drinks as well and if I had to choose 3 for anyone to try, I would probably say the: Amazake Kick, Hotmail and the Lock & Key are well done. If you're looking for place to get light food and libations with an intimate setting, I would add this place to your list.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Joseph,
I appreciate your valuable feedback on your experiences in our Parlor. On the food side, I've shared this with our chef, so we can look into this further. If you send me an email (jack@thedeadrabbit.com), I'll be more than happy to refund your food items or issue you a credit for your next visit. It's important to us, and to me, that our customers are totally satisfied with what they've purchased.

Way over priced and the food was tasteless. A spoonful of beans and one piece of very poor quality black pudding. The sliders were greasy and tasteless.
The Irish coffee was great.
How can an Irish bat restaurant run out of tea.
All in all it was a bad choice and won't be repeated. Next door is much nicerHelpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 2Business owner information

Wowowowow. Made reservations here for 6:30 on a Friday for the Parlor and the process of getting in and getting seated was seamless. Me and my boyfriend arrived a bit earlier but didn't have to wait to be seated. We were lucky and got spots at the bar and every drink we had was amazing. We also ordered the Scotch Egg to try but didn't really order much for food because we had dinner plans elsewhere for after. I cannot wait to come here again and also enjoy a full meal here. The service was great, the bartenders were friendly and attentive, and all the drinks were unique and flavorful, loved all the variety and I have no doubt this menu has something to cater to everyone's needs.
I seriously cannot wait to come back and try all the other drinks on their menu.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Business owner information

This was my first time visiting and my friend's second time. It is a fun Irish bar with a lot of decor on the wall and ceiling, a live band, sawdust on the floor, and tight seating. Our drinks were well made and tasty, and the ambiance was really fun. The bartenders were upbeat and engaging.
We would come back!Helpful 36Thanks 4Love this 36Oh no 0Business owner information

I love the concept and idea of this spot. A little hidden in an old factory building, this place has a nice menu and a great vibe. Unfortunately the day we were there, the food was nothing special and the wait time was extensive. To be fair, I am a bit of an egg sandwich snob and feel that if you are going to play on that space you have two choices, the basic, easy, cheap, and familiar, or creative. But if you are going to charge $13 for an egg sandwich, if better be something more than the local deli's $4.99.
They tried, but fell about $5 short and it took about 20 minutes to make a breakfast sandwich with bacon that had been precooked and just reheated. (Not that I have a problem with that, but it shouldn't take so much time)
I love the local vibe and the effort. The menu is limited, but creative. I think there is potential. I will be trying them again and think you should too. Just be aware that they are developing the concept.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

A lot of history in this place and a mix between tourists and local lunch crowd.
I stopped in for a quick lunch. Had the corned beef sandwich. There was a decent amount of meat and it was really tender. It had coleslaw on it which I enjoyed. The fries were good.
I definitely recommend the food based on that sandwich.
The service was lacking and a little inattentive. Not terrible.
They still use a QR code menu which is fine but there was no direction to do so. I didn't see a sign and the bartender didn't say anything but not difficult to figure out.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Carrie,
Thank you for sharing your experience and recommending our corned beef sandwich! Sorry to hear about the inattentive service and lack of clear instructions regarding the QR code menu. On the latter, we’re actually working on implementing paper driven menus again in the Taproom, so that will be removed in a few weeks. On the former, I’m going to flag this with our team. We appreciate your feedback and will use it to improve. Feel free to reach out to us at jack@thedeadrabbit.com when you next visit us.
We hope to hear from you soon!

Drinks are good but service is slow and sometimes negligent. I went to the Parlor Bar. Drinks are $22-25 so very pricey but well crafted. New York prices I guess... I did not appreciate that the waitress grabbed my drink when I was not even done. The courteous thing is to ask if you're done rather than grabbing it and assuming. Prices are high for the food and they charge a 3% service fee which is also a bit absurd.

Hi Cindy,
First of all, we deeply value your feedback and will issue this to improve our service. I want to apologize for your experience with us as it’s not reflective of our standards.
Regarding the prices, we use extremely high end ingredients, products, and processes, so I stand by those and as for the cc transaction fee, this is much more commonplace and we actually use this money to heavily subsidize our team members health insurance plans.
That all said, that doesn’t condone your experience and I apologize unreservedly for that. I’d love to learn more about your experience with us so we investigate this and improve accordingly. My email is jack@thedeadrabbit.com.

This is my second time being in this bar and the first time in the parlor room. The drinks are phenomenal, suits its title, "the best bar in NYC" very well. I do not have any comment on the food since I only got the devil's egg.
As for the drinks, I had: Overboard, Steakhouse Martini, Almost Famous IPA, Doppelgänger.
Overboard is perfect to start with, refreshing and definitely appetizing. The tropical fruits bridge the gin and mezcal in an unexpected way.
Steakhouse Martini is my favorite among all. I am a huge fan of martinis, but yet never tried using "late harvest chenin blanc" as the vermouth. It was an exciting, and also a tasty, experience for me.
The IPA is just mid. But it made me want to have something sweet, so I had the tiramisu and asked the mixologist which drink go with the dessert. As the results, the Doppelgänger, which was a big hit for the night. The house made walnut vermouth simply danced with the coffee while the mascarpone helps ease the sharpness from the drink. Be careful, it's a heavy drink indeed.
The mixologists are friendly, I asked if I can try the house made walnut vermouth, they had to get them from the other floor. They even gave me a smoothie on the house.
As a single walk in at Wednesday 5:00, the parlor was not crowded.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information
