About the Business
When you enter a mall food court, do you ever wonder around having trouble finding something you actually want? Why does having multiple places, competing for your mouth, not think to make the food taste better? Asheville is a town where local products, food and drink are king but don’t you think our Mall is kind of lacking? Lets change that.

We had doner kebab in Germany and read a recommendation for this place in the mall. (Okay, side note: I just read a bad Yelp review about this place and the reviewer said they were looking for Greek/Mediterranean food and were disappointed because they wanted a Greek restaurant with music and a full menu. Don't give a place a bad review because YOU messed up and wanted something completely different. Doner is NOT a gyro.) Back to my review. On a Saturday night, the food court was busy enough but not overly crowded. Unfortunately, they had just run out of the doner kebab beef and lamb rotisserie meat so I had chicken in flatbread instead. The staff was pleasant and apologetic. My wife got a lentil soup and some hummus and chips. It was quite filling and we even took some of it back to our hotel. Our food was tasty and inexpensive. Maybe one day we'll get there early enough before they sell out of the beef and lamb rotisserie meat.

This was our drunk food in Germany. They stayed open till 5 am, and we ate the heck out of our Döner's.
If you have rated this place less than 5 stars, then you have lost your dang mind. Sure in Europe a dime a dozen.. but here in the states, finding a rare delicacy -- in a mall no less? I mean, it doesn't get better than that! I have no reason to be at this mall other than to have a kebab.
100 percent brought back the memories and the love all the Soldiers shared for a night out. You made this girl super happy!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Takisha B.Newport News, VA17355176Jan 9, 2021
I went for lunch one day and had the lamb & beef dürüm wrap with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, & garlic sauce & a side of fries. The price was reasonable and the food was great. The wrap was bigger than what I expected.

The ONLY reason I go to the mall. I love The Doner. I usually get a chicken wrap and they pack so much stuff into the sandwich that I'm always stuffed afterwards and ready for some shopping (not in the mall tho). I can only think of a few places out in East Asheville that I go out of my way to eat at, and Doner is one of them.
If you have not tired their awesome food yet, what's stopping you! Go check it out, you will not be disappointed in your food!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Dec 19, 2016
So, this is the 3rd middle eastern place in Asheville and definitely a welcome addition. I love that they are locally owned by a couple that is bringing traditional Turkish fast food to Asheville and the mall. They have great doner (mixture of lamb and beef). But, we didn't arrive until 9pm, and it was during extended holiday hours, so they have taken all the meat and put it aside (which meant that it wasn't hot when served). Otherwise, the traditional doner in the middle eastern bread was delicious, as I had a bite of it.
I had the spring mix salad (which they keep underneath the counter), so don't be fooled by the chipotle assembly style look of the place. I added falafel (which was average) & hummus (which was delicious) along with a few of their other toppings. Next time, I'll definitely order the meat (which is where I think they shine). However, for mall food, it was spectacular, and even the salad with just the hummus would have been great.
They also did a great job with the Turkish pizza. They nailed the spices perfectly.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 1, 2018
I've been hearing about The Döner for a while now and just haven't made it in simply for the reason that I rarely eat at the mall. My husband and I finally decided to try it out and the first thing we noticed was that although it is in the food court of the Asheville mall, they serve beer! How crazy/cool! There were only two people waiting in line in front of us when we arrived but by the time we got up to order, there were about ten more people in line behind us.
I knew exactly what I wanted when I saw the menu but I already know that I will be back to try some other options. I went with the Salad with Sweet potato falafel! Yes, I said it, sweet potato falafel. I had never heard of such a thing so I just had to try it and I'm really glad that I did! The sweet potato falafel was soft and served fresh and hot. The falafel balls were super tasty and had a sweet simplicity that really worked for me. The salad was a very small handful of mixed greens and then I got to add whatever salad toppings that I wanted. Although I added tomatoes, cucumbers, pepperoncinis, feta and pickled onion, the salad was very small. It was not enough greens for a meal in my opinion. Next time I go back I'll either order a pita instead or ask for extra salad. I also had the Baklava which was really delicious. It was quite sweet and didn't have the bitterness which some do.
My big annoyance with The Döner is that they use plastic to-go containers to serve their food in but there is no where to recycle at the mall. That was a huge turn off for me. I'd love to see them using plant-based serving containers for their food.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Apr 1, 2017
Good flavors, fresh, fair priced, and much better than average mall food. This is not drive way out of your way and fight super nasty mall traffic, good. It's just a great alternative to standard mall food. Except the sweet potato falafel I would not mind little traffic and a small drive out of my way for those tasty nibbles. Those dipped in the chili tomato sauce were the stars of our meal.
I had the salad with the beef/lamb I also got a bite of my companions sandwich and did I mention the sweet potato falafel. The bread they use for the sandwich is good has plenty of fluff and a little outer crunch. I wouldn't mind buying a loaf for home use. There is also the option to have your meal over fries which is absolutely my next order.
Service was insanely nice and organized. Looking forward to stopping here lots more times.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Susan W.Asheville, NC2118Apr 2, 2021
Awesomely fresh and great everytime! So glad they are on DoorDash! Delicious food! I love their falafel wrap and spring mix salad. They are in the asheville mall, which I very infrequently go. But definitely a great delivered meal!

Falafels here are superb! In the land of fried rice and chicken it is refreshing to have different options especially Mediterranean. I did the falafel wrap and could not finish it. Was not disappointed if in the mall, I shall be back.

Garlicky and served with toasted slices of a yeasty bread. Staff were friendly and it made a perfect snack. Oh and I added a cup of feta because it's my fav in hummus. I think it was like $3.07....snack happy!!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
