Steve W.
The Bay House has been in business for 45 years. Steve Wilson has been the sole owner of The Bay House since 2005 (19 years) and was located on the shore of Siletz Bay in Lincoln City, Oregon. In 2020, the restaurant re-located 3 miles south of the original location to the Salishan Coastal Lodge located in Gleneden Beach, Oregon and became The Bay House at Salishan. The restaurant is on the main floor of the Lodge, not far from the reception desk. Steve and his culinary team are so very proud to have earned One of only three AAA 4-Diamond award-winners in Oregon! We have also earned the DiRōNA Award of Excellence (Distinguished Restaurants of North America) who recognizes the top restaurants across North America placing The Bay House among fewer than 1,000 distinguished establishments. Our commitment to true hospitality and unparalleled service continues, and we hope to welcome you for dinner in the near future.

We are long-time happy customers of The Bay House, but we're not able to visit the new location in the Salishan Resort until a few days ago.
The Bay House is better than ever! The new space is comfortable and inviting, the tables are well-spaced, and the background music and customer sound level is just right for privacy with a nice sense of dining along with the guests at the other tables who are enjoying a great evening.
The chefs turn out superb dishes. Everything was delicious and the service was professional and friendly. The owner, Steve, makes everyone feel welcome.
Great for date night, dinner with friends, and family occasions.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Aug 16, 2013Previous reviewRecently took my wife to the Bay House for her birthday dinner. We had the tasting menu and accompanying wine flight. Choose them, if you want a full-evening, relaxed time. The servings are not big (nor would you want them to be), but add up. Every course had nice, surprising touches. This is a labor-intensive kitchen. We had a great time.
I want to comment that this place would also work for parties who want to have a quicker, but high-end dinner. You don't need to have the five courses of the tasting menu. There were even a couple of parties I saw with (well-behaved) pre-teen kids, who did fine--the waitstaff was very attentive to the kids.
The staff is professional and knows the food.
The owner, Steve, clearly loves what he does for a living.Oct 28, 2009Previous reviewBest restaurant on the Oregon Coast!
We have had dinner here many times over the years. The view and ambiance are superb. Food has always been sublime (with one rare exception, which management immediately made right). The wine list is a massive tome--after looking it over for fun, ask your server to make a recommendation.
Pricey, but worth it.
The service is attentive, friendly, and professional. There is extraordinary loyalty from the staff. Ask for "Mac" to serve your table if he is there, but all the staff is great. - Ali H.Portland, OR1723534Apr 11, 2024
This has been the best meal of our lives. Chef Conan didn't disappoint. He is gold! The server and owner are delightful and fun. We just celebrated our 20th anniversary and we will never forget this meal!

Oh wow so many wonderful things to say about the Bay House. First of all the owner Steve is amazing. He is welcoming, kind, professional, knowledgeable and all the rest ! The food and ambience are perfect. So gooooooood. The service is excellent. We had Leo 2 nites in a row and he never failed us. Separately Steve has an awesome wine tasting a days out of the week where you can also purchase wine at excellent prices with quite the variety. We will always dine at the Bay House when staying at the Salishan Resort.

What an amazing experience from start to finish! The staff is so kind, patient, and explained everything in detail. Our dinner was also fantastic. We chose the three course option and the flavors, presentation, and quality of ingredients were the best we've experienced in Oregon. It was my birthday, and they made it special in a way that wasn't instructive. Oh! The wine list is extensive as well - we enjoyed the free wine tasting beforehand in the wine room adjacent to the restaurant and found a new favorite cab. Thank you Steve and staff for helping create a special evening.
I ordered: clams, beet salad, scallops - 100% recommend!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Mindy D.Hollywood Park, Sacramento, CA012Aug 17, 2023
Such a delight to find this caliber of fine dining in a resort. A lovely room with a view of the coastal forest holds just the right amount of tables. Wait staff Mark and Steve were top notch, very welcoming and professional.
Options are a 3, 4 or 5 course tasting menu. Interesting and creative items to choose from. It was a great experience from beginning to end and Mark made one of the best Old Fashions I've ever had. We hope to come back some day.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kira D.OR, OR073May 27, 2023
Our prom dinner was perfect here, yes they are a little pricey but so worth it all. My boyfriends sister is a pastry chef (I'm pretty sure) here and they made our night even more special with a complimentary bottle of nonalcoholic cider and dessert for us all to share and try together. Great memory, great time and great service!

Went here for my anniversary on the 7th of January. Reservation was made the day of. Started with a nice bottle of wine ($100+). Went with the soup to start, it was an asparagus soup, about 1/2 way thru it I pulled a hair out of my mouth. Handed it to the waiter and he blamed it on the asparagus! Never had I had a fiber that was HAIR in my mouth from asparagus. He basically ripped it and threw it on the ground. Didn't offer me a new soup. Didn't offer a discount at the end of my meal. Just disregarded the whole situation. I'm not one to look for something free but I'm also not one to go out to eat and expect HAIR in my food and have the situation disregarded. Lighting was a little dark, serving food that should be appealing to se should be seen. What a shame that I have to write this review. 2 star cause the food wasn't bad just the experience.
