Thang's French Coffee & Bubble Tea

This is the go to spot if you're looking for fresh fruit smoothies and chewy, delicious boba. They have a variety of fresh fruit smoothie options such as honeydew (boyfriend's fave), lychee (grandma's fave), mango (mom's fave), and watermelon (my fave). I've bought my family and friends drinks from here and everyone has loved it. You can taste the fresh fruit and it's not too sweet like other places. They are consistently quick and delicious!

One thing to remember is they are CASH ONLY, but they have an ATM in the store! Although it can be a hassle that they are cash only, I appreciate it because they are able to keep the prices affordable. It's around $5.50 for a drink with boba which is such a great deal especially since they use fresh fruits!

I'd recommend going early or later during their store hours as it can get crowded around lunch time. There's a lot of great food spots in this plaza so don't forget to stop here for dessert!

I've had some great smoothie in Hawaii but this is one of the best. The fruit you can tell is fresh and very delicious. Sweet but not too sweet. Perfectly ripe unlike in California.
Never had Thai Iced Tea but this was a great intro. The sweet condensed milk really brought out the flavors of the coffee. Great choice.
I love homey hole in the walls like this. The staff was also nice about questions I had.

Their avocado smoothie is so so so good! Definitely very heavy so it's a meal replacement if you decide to get it. It's creamy, smooth, savory and sweet at the same time with great avocado flavor. The boba was chewy with the right amount of sweetness too. Ahhh maybe that's my dinner tonight.

Their lychee drink was very refreshing too, using real lychee fruits. I wanna try their mango next time.

The best thing about this place is they use fresh fruits for a lot of their drinks. I now understand why this place gets crowded! Good thing there were a bunch of people working there to get their drinks out in a timely manner with just a small wait.

Inside the City Square Shopping Center on 1199 Dillingham Boulevard, it's been one of those stores that I've taken notice of but never visited...until the last couple of weeks.

Thang's French Coffee and Bubble Tea is situated on the Kalani Street side of City Square SC; next to Sumo Ramen, if I recall correctly, or Sugoi Bento...one of those establishments.

They specialize in fruit smoothies with boba, those tapioca pearls that sit on the bottom of milk teas. Boba or bubble tea isn't necessarily something I seek out but I do enjoy fruit smoothies.

On my initial visit, I received a great Watermelon Smoothie with Boba for takeaway. Sweet but not cloyingly so...it was very refreshing. It was a deal at $6 but be prepared as they only take cash for payment.

Second visit, I went with the Strawberry / Taro Smoothie with Boba; Thang's offers combination options for $7 and this was advertised as one of their favorites on signage. It was disappointing as it was medicore. I think the taro threw it off.

They use fresh fruits and they blend their ice into a fine shave.

Today, I tried their Vietnamese Coffee Smoothie...quite good. Condensed milk and strong coffee is an excellent combination.

I want to try more flavors but I think the watermelon will be my favorite.

Cash only! There's an ATM inside too, but I'm sure there's a fee. On the upside, it seems like the posted prices already include the tax, so a $6 drink is exactly $6.

We got a Thai tea, a vietnamese coffee and my friend got a mocha. The thai tea was fine. The vietnamese iced coffee was great though! Super rich and strong and a huge cup was $5, so worth. I had a sip of my friend's mocha too, it was really good, a bit sweeter but still keeping that strong coffee flavor.
I have to come back to try the boba and fruit smoothies too.

I was so sad to hear the Aiea location closed up. This location is a tiny bit higher in price, but still super good value and quality.

I come here every once in a while when I'm in the area. I love their milk teas and smoothies. I'm a mango and lychee person, so I usually get those smoothies with boba. They also sell tapioca pudding for $5.

This time around I went with the lychee smoothie with boba $6.50. The boba comes free with the smoothie. It had a nice lychee flavor and was blended perfectly. It hit the spot on the hot day.

It's located at City Square with a fair amount of parking. Bring cash because that's all they take.

Love this place and it's always my go to every time I return to the islands. Be aware that it is CASH ONLY. And prices have gone up since the pandemic but it is still that refreshing drink you can count on. Now it's not necessarily known for their boba but the drink itself. They have a list of their favorites but you can also mix and match flavors (they charge 50 cents extra for additional flavors). My favorite is strawberry lychee.

The husband and wife who own this shop are always so nice and they do remember faces especially if you are a frequent THANG lover and you talk story with them.

There's a "bar stool" area to drink and hang out but I've never really seen anyone who stay there to drink their entire drink. It's more there for people to sit while waiting for their drink to be freshly made. It's definitely a stop and go place.

Bring your cash and head to THANGS but this place is legit and sooo good! You won't regret it!

I had the pineapple with boba and it was really good. Not sour or too sweet. It was nice and mellow. My drink was ready real quick and I'm glad because it was hot so the cold drink hit the spot. Mahalo to my drink model. Teralina.

Amazing smoothies! The avocado smoothie and lychee-mango smoothie were both delicious and refreshing. They're packed with tons of fresh fruit and are well blended so they aren't icy.

No indoor seating so be ready to take your goodies to go.

And if you get your drink with boba, you might wanna ask for half boba since the portions are pretty big.
