Tacos El Jr

We settled to try this place because my go-to Mexican restaurant was suddenly shut down. The parking is located in the back and beware the parking spots are tight and close together. We entered through the back through a tight hallway. The inside is very old looking with traditional Mexican decorations. The floors were dirty and I stepped on about 4 different types of food before sitting down in the booth.

The menu has a lot of variety. There is sit down available or you can order to go at the front. I ordered the carne asada torta. It really tasted and looked like a hamburger. It had mustard, tomato slices, and lettuce. It was pretty dry. I was expecting the more traditional torta with queso fresco and the carrot veggie stuff.

Overall, the food wasn't good but it also wasn't bad. I would not come back here as there are plenty other Mexican restaurants to try.

Great food and service. Very welcoming staff. Close to my office, so I am here regularly for breakfast burritos.

I love eating here, but the owner refuses to buy limes. He says they are too expensive.
But so is his food, expensive.

What a joke.

I'm going to start with their horchata, it was sooo good!! I don't know if it's because we went in the morning and it was freshly made or if it's always like that but it was great!! For food, I had their steak fajita- it was okay, came out sizzling and looking great but the flavor wasn't as good as it looked. Their tacos were also mediocre nothing fancy. Their shrimp cocktail was good though! The servers were extra nice they forgot my horchata so they ended up giving me a free one before we left. They are pretty busy (I went on Sunday afternoon). It's a casual dine in place. It's not too loud nothing fancy but good place to go eat and hang out. I'd come again but I'd consider eating different items.

Chile relleno burrito and tacos de Cabeza are incredible.
Small parking lot in the back. Employees were sort of nice. I feel like the lady could've been nicer but that's besides the point the food here is amazing.

We are visiting from Texas, and this restaurant was amazing! The Lady serving us was very sweet and fast with our orders! The burritos are HUGE! and the tacos are all tasty! Super yummy and great service! Thank you

Food is very authentic and treasonably priced! Our go to for Mexican food. Chile verde wet burrito, chile rellenos, and shredded beef tacos are our favorite

Why I give this place 2 stars, The customer service is horrible. The cashier took my order as she was one the phone with her boyfriend. Messed up my order TO-Go! After I just got out of work. Called back the same day for a refund, her response was," I took your order while I was on my break", I responded back with,"well if you were going to take my order you shouldn't be on the phone, you know customer service comes first right?" She replied back saying," Well I'm a worker & we need our breaks too & I can't refund your money back only my manager can". Called back the next day, the manager told me," I should have brought the burrito back & we can't refund your money back but we will give you another burrito". I live in Redlands & this place is in Riverside, I'm Baffled.
Watch out for the young cashier lady!

Love this place. Been going here for 15+ years. Great chips and hot salsa. I gravitate to the asada torta, taco plate, chicken flautas or a bacon/egg breakfast burrito. My wife sticks to the shrimp tacos.

Food was great and very reasonably priced. The service was great, and the place was very clean. Definitely a hole in the wall that is worth a repeat visit.

So I went Saturday for the first time and it was great I returned Sunday because it was so good and this time there was a different lady . A younger lady ! She was cleaning up and then came to take my order and then grabbed my food with dirty hands . She was so rude and mean . Sunday around 630 pm , also I ordered the exact same thing as I did on Saturday and paid two different prices . Thought that was odd also
