great outdoor space, large for groups. lots of parents with strollers here on Saturday afternoon. find a table closest to the building to ensure shaded area. no food today but you can order and have delivery.

We noticed t.b.d. brooklyn while out on a run around Greenpoint--they have a H U G E outdoor seating area, so it's hard to miss. We read the review about it having "identity crisis" before visiting and laughed about it, but as soon as we stepped inside I realized what the other Yelper meant. The inside is super dark and kind of trendy, but it basically just feels awkward with a lot of unused space.
We went up to the bar to grab a beer and quickly realized that they don't really have a great beer selection. Their draft list consisted of five standard mass-produced beers, and four or five pretty common local beers. I didn't like either of the two beers we ordered, but that isn't necessarily their fault.
You walk out through the backdoor seating area, and there are a ton of picnic tables and other tables with umbrellas, which provide some much needed shade. There is a space with grills and a food menu posted, but the, I guess, kitchen wasn't open when we were there. It almost feels like you're in someone's backyard, and it a nice place to sit and enjoy a beer. Like other reviewers have commented, there are lots of children there. While we were there, only five or six of the tables were occupied and half of them with children. Thankfully none of them were poorly behaved during our visit.
If you are looking for a nice outdoor space that will accommodate a large group, t.d.k. is a good place to go.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 213815565191Nov 5, 2016
Very friendly bar with great outdoor space and a ping-pong table.
I was here Saturday afternoon for a birthday get together of a friend of mine, and had a good time.
The female bartender - I can't recall her name - was very welcoming and knowledgeable.
Great drafts available for every taste.
Highly recommended, especially for groups, and worth the trip to Greenpoint.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - 333349226Mar 30, 2016
I loved this place!
I went because my job was having a meet and greet for newly hired staff (yada-yada). It's a huge space compared to so many bars and it has a great atmosphere. Lots of space for friend groups, or even just mingling.
Because I was there for a special event, I'm not really sure how it is on other nights, but I think its worth stopping by and checking out.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1572122Sep 3, 2015
Large, open space with a killer backyard. There's a grill in the back that cooks up burgers, and GRILLED CHEESE. YAS. When the grill isn't going, you're welcome to order food in. There's ping pong and lots of area to lounge. It has yet to be crowded when I've been which makes it a nice group setting.

Nice, unique open space, clean, doesn't smell like old spilled beer like a lot of bars.
Bartender on the day I went (tall dude with glasses) was just a very courteous, professional and friendly guy.
They had a nice selection of happy hour $4 draft beers including some nice IPAs.
Really can't ask for more from a neighborhood bar.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alex P.Brooklyn, New York, NY3328Apr 25, 2017
Great decor and lounge bar that is great for large groups. The staff are friendly and the price is standard. Not the most robust list of drinks but definitely something for everyone. The outdoor space is beautiful and the area also has games.

i haven't been back since my initial time trying this place when the entire backyard was overrun with a childs birthday party that seemed to consist of throwing rocks, climbing the metal walls and running and screaming, all while totally unsupervised by their young white parents.
But now after reading new reviews I see that they are trying to remedy this situation by asking rowdy, loud kids and their parents to leave. For this, they're being attacked with 1 star reviews by entitled, douchebag, gentrifying parents who have no regard for the happiness and well being of the people around them trying to enjoy themselves.
These people moved to their tiny Greenpoint 1 bedrooms to raise a family and now they need to use our bars for their backyard. They should be embarassed.
I'll be going back to give t.b.d. another chance very soon.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0Apr 18, 2013Previous reviewPretty good backyard space and friendly bartender. Sadly I only stayed for one drink and told my friends to meet me elsewhere for our daytime drinking because there was literally, an 8 YEAR OLDS BIRTHDAY PARTY happening that day!!
Wtf?! Even Park slope bars wouldn't have gone for this shit. There were kids climbing the walls and throwing rocks and playing tag. There were fewer adults there than kids and absolutely no supervision. The bartender told me they allowed minors until "8 or 9". Unbelievable.
This is infuriating as an adult who wants to enjoy a nice, drunken adult environment on the weekend, free from all the screeching kids that I have to deal with every other day.
Please let's make a statewide ban on anyone under 21 in bars, It's not safe and it's unnecessary. Take your kids to the park, or hire a babysitter. - Siobhan F.Putnam Valley, NY0252Jun 4, 2017
Terrible service. We waited at the bar, right in front of the bartender, he ignored us and kept taking orders from people who would just come up to the bar. I couldn't understand it. Then he lost my friends card. She waited over a half and hour for him to remedy the problem as he continued to ignore her and served other customers. Highly unprofessional and rude! The bathrooms were disgusting and not tended to. Also for such a big space, why is there only one bar and only two bartenders on a Saturday night? Poor management. I can see this place closing soon if they don't get their act together soon. It is screaming Bar Rescue!

Went on a late Saturday night recently and the bar was quite empty. I was surprised. Sat at the bar for a while having beers and wine. The place wasn't too loud, which I always appreciate because I hate losing my voice.
The bartender was really friendly and polite. He was also attentive and quick with refills. I absolutely adored him.
Would definitely go back ... I just wished there was late night food closer by (other than pizza).Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
