Came here once for Poke and once for California roles. Poke bowl was small but a decent value for $8. I wished I had ordered two of them. It included very little tuna though. They also don't let you pick your toppings or sauces and they don't have brown rice. 2nd visit purchase two sushi rolls. I thought they were better. Spicy tuna roll was actually spicy! Not great food but definitely good.

T&T Cafe brings sushi, poké, and speciality teas to Downtown Baton Rouge! They are right in the middle of the 3rd Street dining and entertainment area, right by the junction with Florida Street.
The entrance is not super obvious, as there is a beautiful little courtyard between the sidewalk and the front door. This planted and shaded oasis has some limited seating, so one can eat outdoors.
The interior is beautifully decorated, and divided into a number of small intimate spaces where one can dine in. The space in the back would be able to accommodate a small group.
In the front, by the counter, there is a area where one can pick up various items for take out. These grab and go offerings vary, but always seem to include some sushi selections, and poké bowls. If you want to order specific take out, tell the person behind the counter, and it will be made while you wait. There are a couple of computer stations in the front that customers appear to use while waiting.
The sushi is very good, and I think the most interesting thing on the menu is the Mango Shrimp Tempura Roll. This is a most beautiful roll, a feast for both the eyes and the taste buds! The poké bowls are a healthy and easy option, and very portable if one is getting take out.
I have just scratched the surface of the extensive selections of specialty teas. I find the Watermelon Green Tea refreshing, as is the Dragonfruit Green Tea. These come sealed with plastic film over the top of the glass, so the portability factor is there, if one needs it. The variety of tea combinations available is amazing!
Lastly, there are desserts. These include rich cheesecake slices, cute little molded mousse animals that are works of art, and something different called silky ice. This silky ice is something like shaved ice, but more complex in flavor and texture. I recommend you try it, as it is something you need to experience for yourself!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Aug 31, 2019
I have to give major props to T&T Cafe for opening up a tea shop downtown. T&T Cafe is absolutely a hidden gem. They have the cutest decorations, the most calming atmosphere, they serve poke, sushi, bubble tea, shaved/silky ice, AND the cutest animal-shaped mousse desserts. I honestly wasn't expecting much when I went there, but they definitely won me over.
The Good:
- Staff. So kind, so prompt, and great about offering suggestions.
- Desserts. We got the Green tea silky ice and the Teddy mousse cake. It was so sad to eat the Teddy bear, but it was oh so good. I was really impressed with the Silky ice. Wonderful flavor, and the addition of mochi and the Pocky sticks give it a little variety. Also big portion size. I shared it with another person.
- Interior. So many pictures you could take here.
The Not as Good:
- Parking. Downtown parking. 'nough said.
- Bubble Tea. I wouldn't say bad, but not the best. But hey, for being the only bubble tea place downtown, I'd drink it. And their prices are significantly cheaper than other bubble tea places.
Overall, I would highly recommend T&T Cafe. It's a great place to stop in for a quick meal or for a cute little date. They do offer WiFi but it's a pretty small cafe. They have MAYBE 5-6 tables?Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Adam W.Chicago, IL2589110Jul 21, 2021
This is a pretty cool little spot tucked in the city center. Really cool walk up, you'd miss it if you weren't paying attention. Sit inside, outside or ToGo!
I tried a few items on the menu and they were all better then the next.
Coconut milk tea, miso soup and a chicken avocado salad for round one!
Round two, took a swim with the salmon lover and fought the dragon roll head to tail!
Check it out!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Deni D.Baton Rouge, LA1558117Jun 6, 2019
Living downtown, you'll realize quite quickly how many places are closed by 2pm. I was in the mood for something different for lunch and as soon I went for my walk, I realized downtown was a ghost town by 1:30. Red Stick market was my first stop. Their sign said open but all their vendors were "closed". Annoying. So I decided to stroll a bit further downtown and realized this place was finally open and I had such a wonderful experience! In addition to having delicious food, from poke bowls to sushi to milk teas made with real ingredients (no powders or fake fruit flavor) to fluffy almost Japanese-like cheesecake, this place has it all; and to top it off, this place also has wonderful owners. They are so genuinely happy to greet their customers and are passionate about the food they make and about making people happy with their craft.
I had a rose milk tea with a tuna poke bowl and it was the perfect lunch to have on a balmy n breezy Louisiana day. The rose milk tea was SO good. I'm a sucker for anything flower flavored and this was just delicious, and it tasted so good I wanted to bathe in it and hope I smelled like rose tea too. The poke bowl was so good too and not overly filling and had lots of crunchy and fresh vegetables to compliment the tuna and soft bed of rice. Then we had the cheesecake and omg it was so good. Just light enough to be the perfect ending to lunch, without leaving you feeling bogged down and overly full.
The inside is SO cute too and as soon I saw the clock wall (you'll see the pics) I felt nostalgic for all my favorite Miyazaki movies. Something about that just gives the place such a whimsical feel. Then in the back, they have an actual chalkboard with adorable drawings of all their food and of course, a little Totoro to add to the lightheartedness. We got to chat with the owner (who is also the sushi chef) and he was such a gem. He told us all about the food, ingredients, his favorite dishes, and even gave us complimentary cheesecake because he wanted us to better understand how different and special his cheesecake is compared to traditional American cheesecake. He was so sweet and also explained to us how he wants to make sure his customers get real and healthy ingredients in their meals to better enjoy their experience in his cafe.
I cannot say enough good things about this little spot. They have great hours and a well sized menu, so there is something for everyone. They're also open from 10:00 - 8:30 pm (and 9:00 on Fridays and Saturdays I believe) and are closed Sundays for family time. Please give this place a shot. They are local and not only have great food, but genuinely nice people and they deserve your business here in downtown Baton Rouge! It was such a pleasant experience and I can't wait to go back and try the sushi and silky ice!Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Bella C.Port Allen, LA4989617Jul 30, 2019Updated review
I had heard about this new place from different people and decided to give it a try, here is my experience.
The building is very cute, there are menus outside, which I kind appreciated because if you are passing by and would like to know what they offer you don't have to get in and ask for a menu.
There is a computer and a printer right in the lobby, which made me feel like I was entering a place target to tourist or people visiting downtown Baton Rouge.
Right at the entrance you find the counter, that's where you make your order and they'll bring it to your table, staff is friendly and the place is super clean, decorations are trendy and "cute", I can tell how much effort was put into the "Asian" feeling to the decorations.
You walk up stairs next to a few high tables for two people each, and there are large tables in the next half floor, it felt like walking into somebody's living room... the place is not too big I guess that's a good or bad thing depending on what you are looking for...
We had a salmon poke bowl, and everything was fresh and nice, the portion is very good. It is served in a plastic container, like a "to go" order and it costs around $8 (taxes included).
I also had Passion fruit milk tea. It was good, I am not impressed but it was good.
The milk tea (or bubble tea), is sold in two sizes and the cost is between $4-$5 each (taxes included)... it may sound pricey, but again, it depends on what you like and are willing to pay for.
For those with young kids: My friend had a toddler and we were not offered a high chair the kid, so I don't know if they have them available (we didn't ask, but they didn't offer it), with the stairs on the way you may wanna to consider seating outside (if weather allows), or seating in taking your kid out of the stairs.
As I stated before, I felt this place is more oriented to tourist than local people, I haven't decided if I like it or not, but the food was good and I like business bringing new things to the downtown! So, I wish them the best luck!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0Jul 2, 2019Previous reviewI had heard about this new place from different people and decided to give it a try, here is my experience.

Tea: The cheese foam tea here was really not noticeable or worth the extra charge. I wish it was left as a cheese foam cap instead of shaken for me before I received it because it did not taste like cheese foam to me. The tea tasted a bit too sweet as if they dumped peach syrup in it. The boba flavor and texture was good but I wish there was more. I do not think I would get their cheese foam again and I thought the size and value was not worth it.
Atmosphere: Indoor seating was blocked off but there were 2 outdoor tables. The courtyard was cute and it had the potential to be a nice afternoon study spot, but the outside music they were playing was terribly loud. It was like tribal music which did not make a lot of sense and when trying to work on a laptop and make some phone calls, it was a terribly loud, distracting, and not great at all. I had to step out into the street a bit aways to take some phone calls so that they could even hear my voice. I would pick up from here if at all, but not stay. Especially with needing to pay for downtown parking, it's not really an ideal place to stay and linger. The drinks alone are not worth going out of your way to get.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Claudia D.French Quarter, New Orleans, LA01322Jul 2, 2019
We stopped in to this quaint tea café while strolling down third Street in Baton Rouge.
The "we" is my 10-year-old daughter and myself. Wow! What a hidden gem! Aside from the beautiful courtyard that greets you as you turn into the cast iron gate, the service and friendliness of the staff is second to none.
They made an amazing recommendation of what I think is called fluffy ice to my daughter. She got the strawberry flavored and it was absolutely amazing!!!! I'm blown away not only by the delicious recommendation, but that he took the time to notice that my daughter was having difficulty deciding what to get and made an excellent recommendation. I will definitely be back! I got the pineapple green tea and it was refreshing and fruity and delicious. You have to try this place!Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Feb 13, 2020
Bruh this place has such wack vibes....the whole time I was there I just wanted to leave. I'm not gonna give them one star because their cheese tea was delicious and I want to give them the benefit of assuming they were just having an off day. But i definitely won't come back unless it's to get a cheese tea to go.
The courtyard is gorgeous but the interior smells like fish in a bad way. The guy is nice but incomprehensible and not just because of a language barrier. It's like that plus he's really nervous and doesn't understand working in a restaurant. You order at the table which is a weird choice for a bubble tea place. The menu has a lot of typos and is kindof disorganized. My spring rolls were not very good.
But here's the kickers; the weirdest parts. They only played flute music but other than that there were no standards for the loud music. So this included loud spa music, the LION KING SOUNDTRACK, flute covers of pop songs, and multiple songs where people where just menacingly whispering in the background?????? What the h*ck?
Then the bathroom is through a door marked Exit and it leads you into some institutional building that isn't part of their restaurant. I just don't even get this wacky place.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Pilar A.Baton Rouge, LA468Sep 14, 2019
Great place to grab a cold tea drink and/or get something to eat. I have been here a few times and have tried different milk teas, sushi, poke bowl, and the donburi. All have been excellent.
Today my boyfriend and I ordered drinks and food to go. He got the banana smoothie with boba and the chicken donburi. You can taste the smoothie was made with fresh fruit and it was lightly sweetened, making it the ultimate treat on a hot day. The chicken donburi had perfectly cooked chicken with a light teriyaki sauce that complements the chicken and veggies without overpowering their individual flavors. I ordered the rose milk cheese foam boba and the tuna poke bowl. The rose milk tea is hands down the best rose boba I've ever had. I will definitely be going back for another and will be trying some of the other milk cheese foam boba drinks. The poke bowl was also top notch. It was loaded with veggies and came with a delicious creamy spicy sauce.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
