Great service. From the hostess to waitress...all staff are super friendly. Food was excellent. Fresh sushi and one of the best burgers in town.
      Will be back for sure!

While waiting for a dermatology appointment I ducked into Sushi Shack which is now temporarily closed but set to reopen November 15th. As I have no idea what they are doing, the content of this review may be out dated even as I write it, but such is restaurant life along Las Olas.

I was really impressed with the cleanliness and modern Asian décor of Sushi Shack. It's also really big so great for larger groups.

For my meal I had their "Spicy Calamari" which was served as a delicious cut of squid steak done with cherry and bell pepper, lots of onion, and sided with kimchi and rice.

As I've said, I haven't a clue about this sudden out of the blue temporary closing, but suffice it to say, most temporary restaurant closings turn out to be permanent closings.

My friend lives in Fort Lauderdale and he asked us to try this new place. We went on a Friday night and just missed happy hour :-(
The place was not busy and noisy, so we were able to carry on a conversation.
We all had Kirin Japanese Lager beer and went straight to the main entrees: yellow tail, volcano, black dragon rolls, and Tofu with Bok Choi for our vegetarian friend.
We liked everything, there were no left overs!
The food was tasty and fresh. My friend specially liked that they have good vegetarian options. Service and fast and attentive. We will return for sure!

For all the reviews about great service I was expecting on a Wednesday night (which had only two couples and a few at the bar) to not have to wait a while but alas we did. In truth I had no interest in coming (it's always empty when driving by) but my husband wanted to try someplace new.

When our waitress finally came over she handed us a bunch of menus and told us it was ladies night (50% off drinks). So I took a look and decided to go with the Aperol Spritz, but the kicker is they charge you extra for the Prosecco/sparkling wine. Their standard Spritz includes vodka. Um...by definition an Aperol spritz includes the bubbly otherwise it's not really an Aperol Spritz.

As for the food I ordered a miso soup, and a roll with only raw fish and asparagus (no rice) rolled in rice paper. (Forgot the roll name. My husband and I shared a Philadelphia roll but he also ordered thd Shack Burger with a wagyu patty. The food was OK but nothing really stood out.

The short version, the space seems too big, the service was eh and the food wasn't all that memorable. I'll stick to my usual sushi spots instead.

One of our favorite foods is sushi so we're always on the hunt for good ones and Sushi Shack is clearly one of them. This place is located on the upper side of the Las Olas strip close to Rocco's Tacos. When you walk inside, there are high tops to the left, a huge long bar in middle with TVs and booth seating to the right.

It seems the bar is where everybody likes to sit because of the TVs but we opted to sit on one of the high tops. We started with some drinks. I got the Lady on the Beach and my husband got the Lychee Mule. Both cocktails were superb. I actually knocked over mine and the manager was kind enough to make me a new one for free even though it was my fault. Immediately, I was impressed with the service. A few minutes later, she surprised us with complimentary Spicy Tuna Rolls. There were fresh and delicious and she didn't have to do that so once again, impressive service! After devouring the rolls, we were ready to order. We got Shrimp Wonton Crisp and Ocean Pyramid for appetizers. Both were nicely presented but the Ocean Pyramid really was a standout. It's a mixture of tuna, salmon, yellowtail, spicy tuna, tobiko & masago topped with spicy mayo & unagi sauce and avocado. As for the rolls, we got the Volcano Roll and Scorpion Roll. Both amazing. We could tell they use high-grade sushi and quality ingredients. Flavor explosion on every bite.

We loved our first visit at Sushi Shack. The cocktails were superb, the service was on point and the food was outstanding. Prices were reasonable too. Our specialty sushi rolls were $16 each, the Ocean Pyramid was $13 and Wonton Crisp was only $6. If you don't like sushi they also have Sizzling Korean Hot Plates or dishes like Bibimbap and also Spicy Ramen. And if you don't want to spend a lot of money, they have happy hour 7 days a week featuring $7 select bites or classic rolls, half off beers and even specials on select liquor including Japanese whiskey. We will definitely be back ;)

Recently came here for one of their new sushi making classes that they're offering and had so much fun. It included starting with several dishes that we shared family style (edamame hummus, 2 sushi rolls, bibimbap and japchae) all really good! Afterwards we were shown how to make a roll (our choice between 4 options) and a hand roll. Overall I had such an enjoyable time and truly enjoyed the food. I was impressed with some of the dishes we tried as they told us they were featured on their happy hour menu. For example the yummy roll is only $7 during Happy Hour which I think is a great deal! Definitely plan on returning.

I am always on the good hunt for a good happy hour. And if it's on the weekend, you best believe I'm trying it out.

Where can you get legit $8 rolls at 5 pm on a Saturday in las olas?

The service was fantastic. Our waitress had great recommendations and was really sweet.

We got a ton of food (too much honestly but at the prices they had it was too good to pass up!)

Favorites were the sushi and wings.

Edamame was meh. All in all, great spot. Will be back!

Sushi shack is a new spot that just opened up on the very busy Las Olas Blvd strip. Las Olas Blvd is known for many restaurants opening and closing very often due to the hustle and bustle of the strip. Sushi shack is most definitely a spot that's here to stay.

From the ambience of the restaurant to the delightful team members to the endless list of foods to make your mouth water there truly isn't any reason to dislike SS.

I visited on multiple occasions but what rly sat well with me was during my first visit the service was impeccable. We made a reservation as we've noticed many times that it's been busy as we drove by and we were glad we didn't make the mistake of just deciding to walk in. We were immediately seated upon arrival and then given our menus and waters for the table promptly. We read over the menu for a few minutes and couldn't decide! There were so many delicious options awaiting our choice.

We settled on a few different rolls and miso soups as well as crispy tuna rice for an appetizer. Everything came out really quickly. The cocktails were just as delicious as the foods and all of the ingredients were noticeably fresh unlike most places that use frozen fruits as garnish.

We finished up our dinner and didn't notice a dessert menu so of course we had to ask. We got three different flavors of mochi and were still craving more. After grabbing the bill we knew that we would frequently visit this restaurant in the future.

I have been skeptical of this place because of its high prices and fusion theme, however I was pleasantly surprised.

We came for happy hour, and the service was very prompt and attentive. The place seemed really clean, and we never had to ask for anything.

Their $7 happy hour menu includes full-sized sushi rolls, delicious korean-style ribs, and more. We got a rainbow roll and a Boston roll - both very good for the deal. Our only complaint was that the California roll on the menu said it has blue crab meat and - as Marylanders - we knew it was not only not blue crab, but imitation crab! We were bummed as that was the only reason why we ordered it. I was happy about the happy hour though, because it runs until 8pm which is rare, and it is close to my work!

All in all, I am excited to be back for happy hour again soon!

Came to check out the new sushi spot. Plus the menu has burgers? We came around 6 and it was easy to get a seat with our party of 7. The server was very friendly and gave some nice suggestions we had gyoza (really good) and miso soup (very hearty) for apps.

I had the rainbow roll and I cannot remember the name of the other but it had salmon skin which was super crispy and good. Service was a little slow and it took a bit of time to get my hot sake but otherwise it was a good experience. I think it's a little pricey for what you get. Ill recommend people to come in for a decent sushi experience though.

Tried out this new spot on Las Olas. The name throws you off because it's not all sushi, in fact they have a diverse menu offering. The sushi just looked ok in my opinion and wasn't priced to where I could order enough to fill up at a reasonable price.

We started off with the calamari picatta and tuna with crispy rice. Both were good - I would order the crispy rice again for sure.

For dinner I had the chicken teriyaki sandwich and fries. This was absolutely delicious! The chicken teriyaki has pineapple and goat cheese on it and the teriyaki sauce is great! The fries were thin and crisp with a nice seasoning. Highly recommend this dish. You will definitely leave full.

The restaurant has a happy and bright vibe and the garage doors open gives it an inside/outside feel which was great. I will definitely be back again!
