Is there any entree that is gluten free here? (Especially check soy sauce, fish sauce, seasoned rice vinegar, batter mixes for wheat, barley, rye & triticale.) I have Celiac disease & have to eat gluten free.

Several months since I reviewed this place. While some folks always want to try something new (as I do), there's something about a good restaurant that "fits" .... And you keep going back. Sunflower is that place. It's close, convenient, great food, great service and I get a military discount so why not?
Anyway, had my typical pho tai and the rare roast beef really stood out. Loved the broth and made it better with the chili sauce. The basil was fresh and the leaves were tasty. Bean sprouts crunchy. Tried the veggie egg rolls, got six since they were half rolls...
All in all, just a good simple meal at a great price.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jul 5, 2023Previous reviewI've been here quite a few times, always enjoyed the food, today certainly was no exception ... figured I would just post a few pictures for this one so check them out!
As an aside, I had a discussion with one of the owners regarding the "new" brand of chili sauce they were offering. Turns out that the long standing brand of sriracha sauce (you know the one with the rooster on the bottle and the green cap), is out of business and existing supplies are totally priced through the roof. (I checked one site and a 17 ounce bottle was $56.00).Jun 7, 2023Previous reviewI've reviewed this place a few times but I feel it's always important to write a review if I've had a good or bad meal.
No worries, this was a great meal!
I ordered the Vietnamese iced coffee (served in huge bottle and needed mixing of the milk and coffee which is a plus in my eyes).
Also ordered the rare steak pho. A large portion of rare meat and a decidingly light broth that I doctored up a bit with lime, hoisin sauce and siracha . Very little fat in the broth (from the meat). The noodles were a little less than too well done. The bean sprouts and basil fresh and cold and crunchy (bean sprouts).
I also enjoy speaking with the owners when I come in. it's more than just a place to order food, pay and get out. A very nice small business family ambiance.
Got my military discount, finished the soup and took half of the ice coffee home.Dec 29, 2022Previous reviewFull disclosure, came here about three years ago for pho and a banh mi and was not impressed so I never came back.... Today I was on Craig and it was a perfect day for pho and I thought why not give them another chance? GLAD I did.....pretty good meal except for three minor negatives which I'll get to in a bit.
Ordered the shrimp and pork fresh spring rolls (Goi Cuon) , rare steak pho (Pho Tai) and iced coffee (Cafe su da)....
Reasonable prices but since I haven't been there for a long time, can't say if they have gone up recently or not.
I really liked the coffee as it was pretty authentic even though it was not made tableside the traditional way. Good serving size. The spring rolls (2 per order) were fresh and the rice paper wrappers were still soft. Good amount of pork and shrimp. The dipping sauce was a tad too thin, but tasty. My pho was served with a plentiful supply of bean sprouts , Thai basil, lime and peppers. The broth was clear and tasty and the noodles plentiful.
Now a few minor negatives...
The spring rolls were served whole, most places tend to cut them in half for sharing or dipping. My "rare" steak was not pink/rare but already cooked through rather than being cooked in the broth. The meat was still tender.
I asked if they gave a military discount and I think the server said only with a "tray" meaning a catered dish? Not a huge issue, but I tend to patronize places that do honor military more often than those that don't.
All in all, a good meal, probably won't wait three years before my next visit. - Mar 18, 2024
Sunflower Vietnamese Restaurant is located in North Las Vegas. They offer most of your usual Vietnamese Dishes and they also are a tea house. Soft beverages are served here. Inside is small but cozy.
We started out by sharing the pot stickers. Here they are chicken and are deep fried crispy all over. They are served with an extra salty soy based sauce topped with a jalapeño slice.
I tried the (bun - salad noodle bowl) vermicelli spicy chicken sautéed. It's a very large generous serving. The chicken was tasty but not very spicy. It also was MASTERFULLY tender and melted in the mouth. The pickled vegetables in the dish were very good.
I tried a spoonful of the combination pho (steak, brisket, balls). The broth is beefy tasting but isn't that deeper pho that some places serve. I think it's good and sort of refreshing. It taste like what a good steak sandwich tastes like. I tried a small piece of steak......it had little flavor but my husband said that the brisket was better.
Service was efficient.
Sunflower Vietnamese is a decent Vietnamese Restaurant to try.Helpful 11Thanks 4Love this 12Oh no 0 - Jan 23, 2024
Server are very nice, this place is the only pho that was near our area, during the first time we tried them.
And so far the soup and the egg roll and spring roll is good.
The ambiance is pretty ok, it was clean. Server was really niceHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Nov 28, 2023
Ordered delivery since I wasn't feeling that great and wanted some pho. Ordered the rare steak pho with a pork chop rice plate.
The pho was just sad. There was hardly any flavor, the color was there but it just tasted like flavored water. They were pretty cheap with the noodles and the meat slices were really chewy and rubbery.
So the true test of what makes a pho a pho is the day after. The broth should jiggle after being in the fridge for a couple of hours indicating that the broth was cooked with bones (how a pho is suppose to be made). I mean that's why pho tastes so rich and is actually really nutritious bcs of the bones. But this broth was still watery. I had to add some fish sauce and a bone broth tablet to enrich it a bit.
Then the pork chop... they gave a huge portion of rice which was hard - making me think that it's at least a day or so old. The pork chop was super thin and again the flavors weren't really there. I hardly tasted any lemongrass.
It was a very disappointing dinner to say the least. I think I'm going to stick to Chinatown for pho.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Lia P.Newport Beach, CA3056Apr 15, 2024

This is one of my favorite Vietnamese Restaurant. Their Pho is amazing and the best preparation and perfect portions for garnishments. Soup temperature, tenderness of noodles everything is perfect for me! One of the best customer service!!! So if you live near by Craig and Decatur area or even you live far from here but looking for authentic Vietnamese noodles, this is the place you should check!!!

The Phos we ordered were really great as well as the service. Just not too impressed with the appetizers. But still really good pho broth!

Sunflower Vietnamese had great delivery service with our order well packed and hot upon delivery. We ordered the spicy beef pho, regular beef pho, fried banana egg rolls, dumplings, vermicelli plate. The vermicelli and fried banana rolls were my favorite. I think that the shrimp in my vermicelli plate was definitely a bit overcooked but overall the plate was delicious nonetheless.
I will definitely order from here again and will recommend it to friends and family!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 759128Oct 5, 2023
Whenever I have a Vietnamese food craving, I usually order delivery from this restaurant.
This is my go to Vietnamese food spot for if I want banh mi or the vermicelli egg roll and bbq pork bowl. Even when coming from delivery, the food still is fresh and hot. The vegetables and anything deep fried isnt soggy, whenever I get a banh mi the bread still has a crunch to it. Their milkteas are nothing special, very basic but refreshing.
Once I found this place, I have been ordering from them since then. They do the basics pretty fine which is what I personally like. Overall, they just help fill the craving I have whenever I want delivery.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Laura Q.Las Vegas, NV01211Feb 2, 2024
Such small portion compared to other Vietnamese restaurants. I was looking forward to trying this place out but don't think I'll be returning because of this. Taste is okay as well. Now I know I'll keep it safe and stick to my usual spot near by, which is Pho Aimie. And of course in the Spring Mountain area, which have never left me disappointed and will be worth the drive.
