About the Business
We're just a friendly rural Brew Pub with good local beer, a good simple casual menu and a great view. We're proud of our beer and it suits us nicely: quaffable and clean. Our context: we like to knock the taste of hard work, a good hike, a river swim, some good bbq and/or the ocean salt out of our mouths. We say it pairs with sweat and "cuts the sawdust", but sometimes it does promote the bulldust. We prefer cash and there's an ATM machine inside, but do take credit cards .. sigh. We don't provide table service so just grab a menu, check the specials board and order at the counter and or head over to our full bar and get yourself a drink. We'll thank you if you bus your own table, and thank your Mom for a job well done; walking empty handed is poor energy management. We are "family friendly", but we're not Chucky Cheese. If you bring the kids you will find a great space for them to run around and play on the meadow below. If you choose to join us upstairs, inside or on the deck we ask you to be considerate and we will ask. Want to walk the pooch? We've over an acre of meadow along the river for fido to stretch. We don't allow dogs inside the building or at the outside bar (trained service dogs excepted) but leashed, socialized and well behaved dogs can join you outside. We also have a penned area to the side of the deck for them to dry off or just hang with some new friends before jumping back into the car. We Can't Allow Pullouts from the River.

Very fun atmosphere and the food is really good, especially for a bar/brewery. I had the wheat beer which was good and the pulled pork sandwich was amazing!! The meat was so flavorful and tender and didn't need to hide behind a lot of sauce. The garlic cheese fries were pretty good but the fries were a bit too hard/crunchy. You can't beat the river view while you hang out

Cool little spot to check out after floating the river. Dog friendly with a patio and downstairs green with views of the river. Service was helpful with any questions that we had, much of everything else you fetch on your own. Place was quite busy since it was a nice sunny day in the area.
The beers and mixed drinks are decent, nothing to write home about. I had gotten a veggie sando and a pub salad. We also got the brisket sliders to share. Compatriots got the brisket sandwich and the big bastard. The veggie sando was ok. It needed more veggies overall and something to gel it together like an aioli or hummus. The pub salad was actually pretty good as far as ingredients but needed more dressing. The sandwiches were cooked well. They had sauces to use which bridged the gap in some places. My partner went into food coma after the big bastard though.
Definitely convenient with a good amount of parking on the street. Considering the space crunch for a lot of the area, this was convenient.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Steve D.Northern California, CA049100Feb 26, 2024
If your a local, you already know what it is with Stumptown! Right on the river, great music, trees, beer, good weather, pool, sports, friendly people, food is pretty good. Wish they would bring the chicken sandwich back! Truly a gem during the summer time. If you are in town, support this place.

Carlos at the Armstrong State Park recommended we stop by and it was just right. No big expectations just some good food & drink. We definitely got that. The brisket was moist, flavorful & and tiny touch of ilfat along the edge, just right. Over the top on the cornbread (warm& no butter needed) and the coldslaw was fresh & crunchy. I forgot to ask for well done fries so that's on me, but they offered some yummy fry options. Had a porter & cream ale, both good, with the porter having a yummy chocolate undertone. The decor is bar shed and a great back porch overlooking the rushing Russian River. A beautiful accessible green between the building and shoreline. As for service, this is not a tourist joint. It's a place to come, relax, follow the house rules and enjoy what's offered. If you smile people smile back. I suspect it is the locals that have kept it going 25 years, and tourists need to learn not every place is created only for their pleasure. We were happy with our experience, will return & recommend to those of like mind. Thank you Carlos if you happen to read this review!

Food was OK, but took way too long to arrive and the shorter lady behind the bar with short brown hair was extremely rude

We were looking forward to coming here on our way back home from the coast. Beautiful spot and quirky inside. Usually my jam. The food was normal bar food which is fine. What ruined it was the staff. Super rude and not welcoming. Including who I assume was the owner who scolded our group when our kids yelled when a bee landed on them. Everyone had a scowl. Based on the other reviews and owner responses to them I should've been less surprised. I guess we'll continue to drive on by for the foreseeable future. What a shame for a great spot.

Came here after a day of floating down the river and it was a great place to grab a bite before heading home! Unfortunately, the beer wasn't my favorite but their food is great and I'm sure their other drinks are great. There food and drink is also very reasonably priced! There's plenty of space and a great view of the river, I'll definitely be back!

What a great brewery right off the highway! We biked here from our hotel and needed a place to grab a cold drink and some carbs. Stumptown Brewery did not disappoint. Their large backyard patio overlooks the river, and there's plenty of space to spread out. There were many dogs but they have a sign for no cats (not sure why the cat hatred lol).
I had the bacon bleu burger, which was so rich and huge that I couldn't finish the whole thing. It definitely helped power me back to camp. I really liked the Oktoberfest, and my friends enjoyed their Pilsner. All in all, we'd definitely come back next time we're passing through town.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Aaron D.Dallas, TX037182May 19, 2023
My wife and I stopped by this place for lunch. I chose it because I was looking for a good burger and the pictures I saw looked really good.
The place had the feel of a biker bar to me. It came off kinda rough and kinda crass not because it was but I think that was the vibe it was going for. The restaurant was mostly open with a bar and deck in the back and picnic tables by the river below.
Our service was friendly. We ordered at the bar and when it was ready we came up and got it.
We both ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The burgers were delicious and the fries were great. Both meals were ten dollars a piece, so I thought the price was reasonable for lunch. I would recommend this place.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Lunatik J.San Francisco, CA01Apr 3, 2024
Short lady with brown hair was rude (just pointed at stuff and gave me a stink eye) and a simple order took way too long to arrive.
