Strang Funeral Home

It was some time ago that my mother passed away, so I can not recall the name of the owner at Strang, but he handled the difficult process of making funeral arrangements with the utmost respect and sensitivity. I know that is his job, but he was very genuine and understanding of my family's unique situation. Without going into detail, he went above and beyond to work with our circumstances and make sure that we were able to focus on our own grieving rather than the stress of planning the service. He was so knowledgable and was able to guide us in many areas of dealing with a death. He was serious when needed, but also able to crack a joke now and again, which, at a time like that, was refreshing. He really made the experience the best that it possibly could be. The staff was also very professional and able to adapt to extra guests by setting up an additional seating area without any difficulty. Everything was very well-organized and put together beautifully. I highly recommend Strang Funeral Home in the event that you are looking for a comfortable, honest place to work with.

Seems strange to be writing a yelp review for a funeral home but here we are. Strang in Antioch exceeded all of our expectations during the worst moment of our lives losing my Grandmother and during a pandemic. Funeral director David Moore, his father, Bethany and the rest of the staff were absolutely amazing. My grandmother had indicated Strang in Antioch is where she liked for her eventual service. My grandmother was on hospice and we went to confirm we liked Strang in Antioch and upon seeing the entire place and sitting down with David, we knew this was the right place to have her service. David was compassionate and easy going and understanding and made the entire process as easy as it could be considering the circumstances. The night my grandmother passed, Bethany and another gentleman arrived at our home to gather my grandmother and take her to the funeral home and they were so nice and patient and respectful with us and my grandma. All the planning was easy with David from their beautiful casket selection to the prayer cards and obituary and handling life insurance to the day of planning. The day of the service although limited to immediate family due to covid-19, we felt comfortable and taken care of at Strang. My grandmother did not look very good when she passed and they did an amazing job with ho they prepared her and reversed some of the appearance changes brought on from the dying process. She looked beautiful. Granted, people never look exactly like they did but they definitely did the best job I've ever seen. They were relaxed and understanding and never made us feel rushed with her service and even at the cemetery when things didn't go as planned because of the excessive amount of water from the previous days bad weather and a mock setup for the burial had to happen beyond David's control, was still made to be made the best of the situation. My whole family was so happy with this funeral home and David and his staff and any of our family that ever may pass in the very distant future would use this funeral home. Their pricing was also very reasonable. Highly recommend this funeral home should you ever find needing their services. Thank you to David and staff at Antioch Strang!

I am not one to post bad reviews - this is the 2nd time - but this one is close to my heart. I never used Strang Funeral Home service and I never will. My brother's girlfriend died suddenly. He was under the impression there was going to be a viewing one evening. He called Strang to get more information and the person who answered the phone gave some information to my brother and then called his girlfriend's son. who in turn not only called my brother with an awful phone call but also called his father out who invited my brother. When someone loses someone who is important it is very difficult and then to have of all places the funeral home throw fuel on the fire is even worse. I thought funeral homes had compassion? I thought they cared. this one obviously does not! I wish I could give them a negative star or no star! Really sad!
