Excellent food and service. Great meals for a night you don't want to cook but want good home cooking.

Above everything, the service is wonderful. The staff is pleasant and patient with your questions (especially if you are unfamiliar with polish food or language). I do not hesitate to ask about the various sausages hanging over the counter or the assortment of dishes in the cooler. I have never had anything I didn't like here, though we love the pierogi's, especially the sauerkraut and mushroom, the kielbasa and kolbanosi, and the cabbage rolls (golumbki, halupki, Toltott Kaposzta etc..). We even recently bought sliced ham (like for sandwiches) and it was amazing, think sliced ham from your holiday ham, not the over processed stuff at the grocery store deli counter. Their sign doesn't lie, stop in, polish food is good!

Stas is the only real polish deli in the area. They are clean and the food is fabulous. I just brought some down to my grandparents, who are polish, in Florida and they were so happy. They miss their favorite store. Definitely recommended!!!

This is my favorite Polish food deli.
Stas makes a beautiful kielbasa that he himself smokes, and their Sauerkraut that Stas makes is delicious. I always get a large container of their sauerkraut (kapusta) to take home. Mushroom and sauerkraut pierogi have amazing texture and are delicious. Staff is very sweet, family owned. They will also help you with any questions you have about the food, because they make many different awesome things. They will make you feel comfortable and be polite and explain what each food is.
I love the hot bar, where they have Polish hash browns (sorry I don't know the exact name), pork meatballs with brown gravy (yummmmm), pork chops that Stas breads and fries crispy and so many other delicious things.
Polish food is good! Go to Stas Deli I promise you'll love their food!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Barbara S.Woodbridge Township, NJ702013Feb 4, 2017
Love this polish deli. The pierogi are the best around. Tastes just like mom used to make.

I have been a regular daily customer of Sta's
For the past 10 + years. I can only say that
this is the best Polish food that you can get
anywhere in Union County. Linden has plenty
of fine Polish eateries due to its Polish population.
Sta chose to start his deli in Rahway where
there was less competition and bringing his great fresh homemade kielbasa, cold cuts,
stuffed cabbage,soups,potato pancakes,
pierogis and other great foods. Everyday lunch platters are chicken or pork cutlet or kielbasa
and Fridays is fresh flounder and all are served
with 2 fresh sides of beets, coleslaw, kaputsa with noodles, roasted or mashed potatoes. They also serve beef goulash for lunch. All these great lunches are all priced at $5.25
and are all outstanding meals. They also have
fresh pastries and donuts and a custard pastry
topped with powder sugar that is absolutely
outstanding. So if you are ever traveling southbound on St. George Ave. through Rahway stop at the corner of St. George and
Plainfield Ave. and give Sta's Polish Deli a
try you won't be disappointed.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marina J.Toms River, NJ01Jun 20, 2019

Love this small deli! It's a cozy little place, but packed with a large variety of tea, snacks, etc. Great variety of delicious pierogies - we recently picked up some with meat and some with mushrooms. Both were very good! The employees are very sweet and friendly as well!
smacznego!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - matt r.Union, NJ142486Mar 6, 2018
Hate to be the 1st non-5 star reviewer but honesty is the best policy
Small store--easy to miss if you're not looking for it as I've gone up/down St Georges countless times. Inside even smaller which is fine but if there are ever more than about 6-7 ppl you'll feel like a sardine since the next "aisle" can only fit 1 person & not a very big one either
On 2 separate visits got a total of 4 items---stuffed cabbage. They only use pork as opposed to all beef or pork/beef blend. Decent but had caraway seeds which ive never seen before & threw the taste off. You have a choice of mushroom or red sauce(I chose red)-- was charged $3 for a quart. Very watery & added little to the flavor. Also, a minimal amount of cabbage whereas I'm used to extra leaves in the sauce(since they make them separate from the sauce not doable?) to add extra bite(my aunt was Polish/Slovak & never made it like this). $1.25/ea which is reasonable.
Next item was the potato/cheese/onion pirogues. I asked about the onions & was told they were small pieces so at most a flavoring effect. Well, I couldn't taste cheese nor onion--it was like eating plain mashed potatoes. In fact they were milky white so maybe they forgot to add the cheese?(which I highly doubt). Price was $6 for a dozen--Mrs T's are just as good if not better for 1/2 the price.
3rd item was fine ground kielbasa. The smell was stronger than the taste but it was decent & the skin was edible. Last item cheese babka pretty good decent amount of cheese & fresh. On one of my visits they got a large delivery from Syrena's(old NWO shopping center on corner of St George & Stiles) so many of their baked items are brought in.
