It is now a year since we enrolled our children at St Stanislaus Kostka School. I am glad to report that it continues to challenge, nurture and inspire our children. Our four-year old twins, in second year of pre-K are ecstatic about their school. They love their teachers and friends, enjoying the beautiful art of learning together. It is unbelievable what a four-year old can learn! Our kids have access to evidence-based educational approaches eg. "Everyday Math" , "Brain -Gym", "Second-Step" emotional development, "The Leader in Me" programming and so much more. Who would have thought that our English-speaking children would be able to learn Spanish AND Mandarin. They also love their after-school Karate class! Highly impressed with all the St Stan's teaching staff. Love them!! Our School Principal is hard-working, honest and open to feed-back. Love her too! in a nutshell, we are astounded by the level of development our children have achieved in the past 12 months! Forever grateful to St Stan's School, it's staff, pupils and families.

Extremely impressed with the level of dedication and boundless enthusiasm of everyone at St Stans. Emotionally nurturing, academically challenging, creative and empowering learning environment that our children are excelling within. The pre-K program is more affordable than you may think due to huge amounts of fund-raising. Eclectic group of families. We are not catholic but were still welcomed with open arms. Researched and visited over a dozen pre-K programs. This one shines. A priceless feeling to know that our children are surrounded with loving staff. St Stan's rocks in my humble opinion.

My son is graduating this year from St. Stan's. We just love the school, faculty, the programs they have, etc. it feels like being a big family.I love the fact that the students go to mass every Sunday. The o Lu thin I would love to see is more confession days for students. May be once a month.
Thank you so much to the principal, teachers, and staff that work very hard for our students.
Thank you Father Anthony for inspiring students and for all you do for them.

Not sure if this is an annual thing or if several sundays in a row, but we were invited by our uber driver to attend polish dinner held by the church. Warm atmosphere with great polish food for $10/$4 kid. Delicious and very nice

Every year St. Stan's has been taking big strides to better the curriculum, implementing social emotional standards, and the end of last year we became the fist school in Chicago achieving Light House Status from the Leader In Me process of Steven Covey 7 Habits of Highly Effective People. Having an excellent science program implemented from pre-school through 8th grade and the reading and writing workshops, my children are thriving at St. Stan's. It is not easy for them, but challenging enough that they look forward to going to school every morning. Having a great facility, great staff and the best interest of my children at heart, I highly recommend you to visit our school, take a tour and have your child shadow our school. This is our 3rd year here at St. Stans and we are so happy to call SSKS our children's home away from home. This prek-8th grade school is conveniently located off the 90/94 Division street exit. Our children enjoy every day at school utilizing the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Kids. With before care and after care right on the school premises and a multitude of after school programs to enjoy including edible art, piano lessons, karate, robot making class, and guitar there is always an opportunity for children to grow. With some of the best test scores in the city how can you not send your children here? A best kept secret that needs to be told. http://ststanschicago.org/

St. Stan's is an exception to the school landscape in Chicago. This school truly provides a warm and welcoming experience for all students, with an emphasis on leadership and self-control. The school is fueled by "The Leader in Me", which uses the Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. A teacher myself, there are so many things I've seen schools claim to do - and not ACTUALLY do, but at St. Stan's, this model is truly the core of the school rather than something that's done on occasion.
Attracted by the school's diversity and leadership program, my daughter transferred to St. Stan's as a second grader, and immediately felt like she belonged. There were a number of opportunities for her to get involved in leadership roles even as a second grader. As a third grader, she mentored two pre-schoolers as a big "faith buddy", and she was able to become part of the school's Lighthouse team. As a parent, I always look forward to school activities. The parents are just as caring, understanding, and accepting as the rest of the school. Academically, the school uses the University of Chicago's Everyday Math program and Columbia University's workshop model for reading and writing. Their academic programming is comparable to some of the best public and private schools in the city, and in my opinion is implemented well. I would, however, like to see more structured supports for teachers in working with students who exceed grade-level expectations.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Maria B.Chicago, IL02Mar 22, 2012
A great school with a wonderful staff, devoted principal, and a dedicated & highly competent group of teachers! My child has attended this school since this past fall and has been very happy here. Her preschool teacher and aide provide the students with a stimulating academic environment, but they are also very nurturing, caring and supportive. I have seen a tremendous difference in my child. I would highly recommend this school!

We found this fabulous school while doing a quick Google search when starting to research pre-schools near our home. Ms. Hill, the Principal, was extremely responsive and welcoming. After meeting her, taking a tour of the school, shadowing a preschool class, our search stopped. We quickly enrolled our daughter and couldn't be more pleased. Additionally we learned St. Stans follows the Leader in Me curriculum which is a plus. Our daughter has met so many wonderful friends, all from varied backgrounds, which we love. Despite not being Catholic, the school welcomes us with open arms. I would highly suggest putting St. Stans on your list of pre-schools to check out.
