I detoured into this store on my way to CP. I have a fondness for Sprockets when Mervyn's made them (hey don't laugh, they are very well made kids clothes. For little ones who constantly dirty up their clothes, the Sprockets line holds up well for the price0.
Unfortunately, the clothes are more expensive than when Mervyn's made them. Also pickings were slim. There isn't anything in there that I want.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Joel B.San Jose, CA1328279203Jul 28, 2010First to Review
Sprockets at this mall looks VERY run down, and it just opened this weekend. The fixtures looks like it was taken from a previous run down store.
The prices are pretty competitive though, and the selection is eh... well not that large.
For me I'd walk that couple feet and buy something better at The Children's Place or I'd go a couple stores down and visit the pricey Osh Kosh.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Janis M.Campbell, CA166136160Aug 9, 2014
Ummmm.... It's really just that. A-OK. No more, no less.
I don't usually like the selections here, and the price is a bit high for clothes I do not find appealing.
I have found a shirt, hoodie or two over the years that I have bought for my son, and they were really great. I have to say the they seem really well made. I am just not a regular here because there really just isn't much to see.
P.S. What's up with the fictional going out of business sale sign that has been up for the last 3 years?Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jasmine S.Milpitas, CA35225088Dec 29, 2010
maybe i've been spoiled by going the H&M's kid's section, but i find the clothes here to be a little over priced for the quality.
the girl's section is amped up with cute outfits, but i tend to shop for the cute little boys in my life and the boy's section just can't cut it.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dayna Z.San Jose, CA70125122Jan 9, 2012
You get what you pay for.
I bought my son a few graphic tees here while on my way to Osh Kosh. The tees were pretty cheap. Idk if it's just me, but before I let my son wear new clothes, I wash them, so as soon as I got home I washed the tees. I even looked at the care instructions and washed them inside out. As soon as I took them out of the wash, the print washed off!! Wth!?!? I called the store immediately just wanting to simply exchange them for the SAME ones. The idiotic sales person told me as soon as the customer washes the clothes they cannot take it back bc it's their return policy. I even told the sales person I was just there 3 hrs ago! I was pretty ticked off and asked for their district manager. She told me to go on the Sprockets website and all the info is there. The website was NO HELP!
I work in retail too and if a store cannot stand behind their merchandise, then I am def not shopping there again.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nathan P.San Jose, CA572219177Dec 20, 2011
Not bad of a place to go shopping for the little ones. I was enticed by the Sale signs, like most stores at these times at the mall. The store is spacious and every type of clothing and different style is separated and neatly organized making it easy to shop. There's always a sale and a good amount of clothes at the clearance section so you'll be able to walk away with something.
There were only 2 employees at the time, neither one at the register. I saw a guest waiting at the register for a minute or two looking a bit frustrated that no one was there to ring her up. Luckily when I was done shopping an employee was ready to help me.
Sprockets has some cool designs for the babies to look their best, though I'll only shop here if they have really good deals.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Shannon T.San Jose, CA3723815Aug 31, 2010
This store just opened next to the Children's Place. I was actually on my way to Children's Place but then took a detour to check out the new store. My son totally loved some of the shirts here - airplane themed, very boyish. We ended up getting his new clothes for school here.
The store is clean (well it's brand spankin new!) and the girl stuff is so cute so when my baby gets bigger, I'm going to try to get matching themed outfits for her and her bro here.
I heard that this is a mervyn's brand? Never shopped mervyn's so I wouldn't know, but if so, they definitely have a good merchandiser selecting the collection for this store. It's kinda hip for grade school.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Liezel E.San Leandro, CA868277Nov 1, 2011
Sprockets is the place to go to buy infants clothes at a good price. I would always buy my nephew clothes at this location because they also have great deals there. This place is great they have the cutest clothes for boys and girls and won't feel guilty about buying them. Especially for toddlers being that they grow out of the clothes so fast. The staff at this location are the greatest they greet when you come in and always willing to help you when you have any concerns. They have quick service too.

So, I ended up contacting corporate through Facebook, which took a couple of posts. Eventually I got connected with a lady who was very nice and she ended up exchanging the jeans for me - actually, she dropped them off at my house (hence an extra star.) She also gave me a couple of 10% off coupons. Unfortunately, the damage by the poor customer service in store and the inflexible return policy has been already done and I am unlikely to return.
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Sep 4, 2013Previous reviewHad an awful experience at Sprockets this evening!!! I bought a pair of jeans for my son about a month ago and washed them, the button came off after this wash. Of course, I already threw away the receipt not intending to return the jeans prior to the wash. No problem, of course, they will not have a problem exchange a defective item.
Yesenia, a store manager, at the Milpitas Great Mall refused to help me out. She said that their store policy is not to return the items that have been washed nor have a receipt. When I pointed out that we could just exchange it for the same pair of jeans, which were still priced the same, she insisted that the company makes great stuff and I am welcome to call corporate at 510.397.2587. ( When I called it turned out to be a wrong number. In addition, I did further investigation on the company and it's run by Preferred Secured Agents, which is basically just an importing company and according to one site it no longer exists.)
So, I argued a little more, since I thought it was absolutely ridiculous not to replace a defective item. Yesenia reiterated that it's my problem that I bought the defective item and asked me what I wanted to do with the jeans. Since the metallic button requires special equipment to get attached and the jeans became unusable I told her to trash the jeans to which she replied "no problem, would be glad to do it for you"!!!!
I changed my mind re keeping the jeans, since I wanted to post a picture of it on fcbk and other review sites. When I returned Yesenia was bad mouthing me to another employee and a customer, all the time repeating that the Sprokets makes quality clothes.
In short, horrible quality, horrible customer service! - Allyssa R.Sunnyvale, CA36726Aug 17, 2011
I always have a pleasant experience going into Sprockets. Its cute, affordable, and right next to Childrens place so location wise, its pretty accommodating. Its always a little challenging to find any 5T sizes so I end up going into the boys sizes. Usually have friendly staff. . .until yesterday. I walked in & noticed I was the only one in the store. Usually they have someone up in the front fixing the clothes and to greet customers. This time, no. I noticed two employees towards the middle of the store. I dont know if they noticed me or not so I just continued on with my shopping. I started heading towards the back and I looked at the employees (cuz you really cant miss them) and they didnt even smile or greet me or anything. I even cracked a smile and they looked at me like I was bothering them. Whyyyy are you on facebooking on the computer or something??!? I felt like I was "bothering" them when Im simply a customer in their store. I was ticked but came for my sons clothes so whateverr. Even when one of the employees decide to walk around, they didnt say a word to me. I was surprised cuz usually im asked if I need help with sizes. Nope not this time! Even when other customers decide to come in, they dont say a peep to them. When we go up to pay, thats when they start saying "Ohh did you find everything okay?!?" UGH! Well no duh Im already done soo NO I dont need any more help that YOU didnt offer!
Ugh whatever. Maybe I came on an off day. . .Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
