It was not worth the drive. The food was not good. We ordered the Taco plate, soft shells, beef. The shells on the tacos were just soaked in grease not fried, they feel apart making eating them impossible. The beef was a mystery meat our taste buds could not determine what it was, it had no flavor at all. The rice was cooked well but once again no flavor could be determined. The beans were same not flavorful at all. The other dish we ordered was the Navajo Taco. It was presented and looked good. Just mediocre nothing to talk about. If you are hungry and need food, this will do. The sopapillas were horrible, all heavy and doughy. The honey they serve is watered down. Meal was not enjoyable. The service was adequate for the end of the day. They were closing up so they getting things all wrapped up to go home.

I don't t usually take the time to write reviews, instead I advertise by word of mouth recommendations. That being said, I had to take the time to write a review for Sopa's. Their food and service is outstanding! We were picking up a large order for a funeral service and they had the food ready on time, loaded it up for me, and it was delicious. Thank you Sopa's, we will definitely be regulars.

Amazing service and the food was really good! I had the chicken tacos and hubby had the steak and carne adovada enchiladas. Everyone was so friendly and we were regularly checked on.

Another hole in the wall in a small village away from Albuquerque. Even though we had a big group we were seated quickly. Waiting at the table were baskets of homemade tortilla chips. Quick look at the menu saw one of my favorite - Hand breaded chicken fried steak. So that was ordered and along with a grilled ham and cheese. Considering how busy they were food came out quickly. The grilled ham and cheese was delicious & the fries were awesome - crispy. Then there was the chicken fried steak. It was huge covering most of the plate. The gravy was ok - needed a little pepper to season it. Unfortunately the steak itself left a lot to be desired. The batter was extremely rubbery - predominately on the under side. Very disappointing to say the least. But our service was excellent.

Unfortunately even though the food is always good at Sopas the service has been horrible lately. We use to go all the time but the last 3 times we have gone we have sat 15 mins without being asked drinks then wait another 10 for drinks and then another 10 to order and then once we get our food we never see the waiter/waitress again.
Use to I didn't have to find someone to get a refill or something but the last 3 visits (Dinner & lunch time) i've had to ask the bus boy or someone walking by. I hate this because I do love their food, but I refuse to go somewhere where I have to do the same effort as I would at home. Hopefully things change but it will be a while before I go back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Diane M.Denver, CO23172Oct 8, 2023
Good basic menu. Food is homestyle. Traditional New Mexican menu. Great chili. Not fancy. Just tastes good and filling. I often request changes to what i ordered off the menu. They always are happy to accommodate my wishes. They serve breakfast all day. Staff is friendly & attentive. Prices are fair.

Love it here. It's local, it's simple, it's good good. Not fancy but delicious. It's not open on Mondays...nothing is here.

Great service, everything I've gone!! Busy place, cause all the locals go there. Enchiladas are good!! Best sopapillas I've ever had!! Try them, you won't be disappointed!!

8/6/2023-Food is good however service is questionable. We ordered food at 12:58 and food arrived at 2:02pm. I spoke to the owner who stated "I am not going to compare tables and it's probably what you ordered, okay." A simple apology and acknowledgment versus excuses would have been so much sweeter. We drove here from West Albuquerque arriving after church, had a great server but an early dinner versus brunch.
