Several months ago, the fan blade in my Vornado vintage model V Fan began contacting the fan's metal housing. The noise was awful. We removed the grill and tried to adjust the blade but had no luck. We talked about chucking the fan, but the motor was still strong. This is where Bruce came to the rescue. We took the fan to his shop, Solomon's Appliance Center, on 86th Street in Brooklyn and in 10 minutes his team fixed the problem. Truly amazing. Thank you, Bruce and staff!

Why replace when you can fix. Bruce has seen it all and we had our kitchenaid mixer fixed before the holidays. Bruce also did forensics and proceeded to launch into a long lesson of how we were using the device incorrectly. The 20 minute lesson was totally worth the trip and I am a better baker for it. Also amazing selection of timeless appliances.

KitchenAid said this was the closest authorized repair center for my 20-year-old mixer, so I brought it in. Do not expect Genius Bar: The space is old school and so is Bruce, who answers the phone and runs the counter. His ornery shtick is all in the interest of avoiding misunderstandings and preventing dissatisfied customers. It took a couple of weeks for parts to arrive and the repair cost more than I had hoped, but the mixer runs like a dream and a new one would've cost more, worked less well, and created unnecessary waste.
I brought my daughter, who is a little more than half as old as the mixer and the person who uses it the most, and she learned a lot and keeps quoting Bruce.

I'm stunned to see the good reviews referring to this as an "old school hidden gem" and I'm relieved to see that KitchenAid is listing other authorized repair facilities. My skin is still crawling from handing over my KitchenAid blender and then not being able to get it back when I couldn't draw cash for the repair in the neighborhood so I just left it there - I'd rather buy a new one than deal with a person this unhinged. The store is a complete mess, should be reported to the IRS and there's a sign up saying if you don't keep your receipt forget about your item (WTF?!). Don't go here - it's in the middle of nowhere anyway and takes all day to get there.

I was baking cookies and my Kitchen Aid started to shake. I knew it was broken. Where to get it fix? My sister called Kitchen Aid. They recommended Solomon's Appliance in Brooklyn. I live on Long Island. "An adventure" I told my other sister. She agreed and off we went. Miracles do happen. We found a parking space right in front of the store! We met Bruce who told us Phil would check it out and give me a price. Phil said it could be repaired in an hour and a half. Bruce told us where we could go to pass the time. True to his word, my Kitchen Aid was fixed in the allotted time. I paid my bill--they only take cash--and off we went. Great people, wonderful experience! Thanks to Bruce and Phil, I look forward to many years of cooking with my Kitchen Aid!

Had a great experience with Solomon's when my kitchenaid mixer needed to be looked at. Bruce was honest with me and determined that a full "take apart repair" was unnecessary and worked with me to determine other ways to troubleshoot. Needless to say, his advice worked and my kitchenaid is back to being its fantastic self.

I brought my daughter's Kitchenaid stand mixer there when it started leaking oil/grease. The gentleman who helped us was Bruce and he is a character but a lot of fun to interact with, he really knows his stuff. Gave us a Quote after a few days and the work was completed within a week. It works better now and we have a 90 day guarantee. Would definitely use them again. Love the old time vibe of the place.

We've had a KitchenAid stand mixer for 11 years or so. But lately it sometimes doesn't turn on, sometimes doesn't change speed, and then (the most concerning) sometimes doesn't turn off. So it was repair time! Well, kitchenaid will tell you where the authorized repair shops are, and the one near us was Solomon's. I called ahead, and they were like "yeah, we're here every weekday, just come on over". It's $50 for a diagnostic and the whole repair was ~$200 (diagnostic fee gets rolled in if you do it). Cash only. I don't remember the names of all the electronics they said had to get swapped out, but they were like "it'll be like a brand new mixer" and yeah, that's exactly how it went!

Great old school service. It's nice to know some things haven't changed. My grandmother sent me to have her pressure cooker lid fixed and after $14 and 10 mins, she was a very happy lady.
