Honest review: I went here a couple weeks ago and met a friend for dinner, We ordered about 4 different tapas dishes and drinks. The service was not good and disappointing. We ordered a second round of tapas and we were waiting about 20 minutes. After waiting 20 minutes for our second order, the server came over and told us that he forgot what we ordered. After waiting and when we got our second order with the tostadas, it was cold and were weren't a fan of it. The hostess/ manager came over to ask us how we like it. We were honest and told her that we didn't like the tostadas and she said that she can have the server take it off our bill. We unfortunately had a disappointing experience. About a week later I decided to call the resturant to talk to the manager to give them feedback. The manager did listen to my feedback and was open to it. I was told again by the manager that I could be reimbursed for the dish and I gave them my name and card info. I was hopeful and patient for the reimbursement to show up on my card. I waited for the reimbursement to show up on my card and I never got the reimbursement. I will not be coming back to this resturant and there are other tapas restaurants I rather go to. I would not recommend based on the service. Thumbs down.

Thank you Annette for your honest reply. Also, I would like to thank you for posting the review on Yelp, Google, and Trip Advisor.
We do not provide compensation for food that has been eaten more than 50%. Usually when a dish isn't liked we can provide a refund, but not when you eat it and then ask for a refund. The manager had came and apologized, but the Tostadas de Alcachofas is a "cold tapa" and is not served warm. So again I apologize for your experience and comments. - Mar 14, 2024
Really nice service last night. A good quiet place to hang out, grab some food and watch Champions League on my iPad early on a Wednesday night.
I got tapas and enjoyed the patates braves the spicy cauliflower and beans and rice.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 11, 2023
Inviting, spacious dining rooms.
Great menu with a variety of veggie, seafood, and meat choices. Quality ingredients.
Friendly and efficient service.
But... all the food that should've been served hot was lukewarm at best.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 11, 2023Updated review
Great service and very good food. The lamb meatballs were a highlight for me, but everything was delicious from sangria (I'm picky) to chocolate lava cake. Standout: mussels. Very much recommend

A favorite restaurant to celebrate a birthday in our family. The atmosphere is festive. Tables spread out just enough that you can easily talk. Half circle booths are always fun and the decorations are casual and pretty. Our meal is always centered around a large platter of paella full of sausage, shrimp, mussels and of course saffron rice. It's delicious. I almost wish there was a greater rice to other ingredient ratio (I love rice). Along with the paella we usually get about 5 tapas plates for 4 people. My absolute favorite item is their Camarones a la plancha- sizzling shrimp in garlic oil. We often order two. The albondigas de Cordero, lamb meat balls, is in a creamy sauce with a strong (but great) lamb flavor. Since you have to eat some veggies we got the Brussels sprouts- a very easy way to get some green in as they were quite tasty. For dessert the flan was good, nothing special, just good creamy flan but the churros were especially good with crunch outsides and a soft inside, accompanied by a dish of dark chocolate sauce for dipping. Solea has been consistently good over the many years we've eaten there.

Solid 3.5 restaurant had just opened an hour before we got there for lunch so there was plenty of seats to choose from. Our waitress was sweet and although she was the only server on the floor, she got to every table without missing a beat.
Everything was seasoned nicely and portions were perfect for the price and to share. The only thing I had to send back was the shrimp in garlic sauce... I'm fairly familiar with traditional tapas and shrimp in garlic sauce is usually flavorful and packed with garlicky goodness. Their version wasn't even sauteed, just swimming in oil and the garlic didn't even look like they tried to date it one bit. Took a flan to go and that was delicious as well. Definitely a solid spot to stop in for a good meal.Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 9Oh no 0 - 13793303Sep 4, 2022Updated review
Came back here recently to give the place a second chance, and the service and food have just gone downhill. Don't come here if you want to eat warm food and have decent customer service.
We came on a Friday night and got seated pretty quickly! The host outside was very friendly and sat us at a nice table facing the windows. This is the only reason I am giving them two stars instead of one.
Within 5 minutes of sitting down, the busser dropped a glass where my friend was seated. Only the busser gave a mumbled apology and neither the server, busser, nor the manager, came to ask if my friend was okay. This should've been our first sign to leave.
The customer service was then horrible. Our waitress, Veronica (actually, the same waitress I had last time I was here), judged us for not ordering 3-4 tapas PER A PERSON and rolled her eyes when doing so. I've been here before and I know that for our party of 2-3 people, 3-4 tapas for the WHOLE TABLE is more than enough. She just stood there when we were done ordering our tapas without saying a word. The restaurant ambiance wasn't too loud, but unsurprisingly, our entire party couldn't hear a single word she was saying (this is the second time this has happened with this specific waitress). She looked as if she did not want to be there and didn't want to serve us. The two tables next to us also had a similar experience, where they were sat down and neglected for 20 minutes before the waitress tended to them. This horrible customer service and attitude should've been our second sign to leave.
Once we got our food, (about 20 minutes after we ordered), our food was all cold to lukewarm at its best. We got the Patatas Bravas, Tortilla Espanola, and Queso de Cabra Montañes (Baked Goat Cheese in Tomato Basil Sauce).
The Patatas Bravas were not crispy at all and were drenched in hot sauce. The only thing hot about this dish was the fact that the sauce was a little bit spicy. The potatoes were cold and there was minimal garlic aioli.
The Tortilla Espanola is supposed to be at room temperature, but we should have sent this dish back. It was so bland, dense, and dry. We didn't finish this dish as it killed my party's appetite.
The only okay thing we had was the Queso de Cabra Montañes. The flavor was okay, but for the amount of sauce you get, 4 small pieces of bread were not enough. Considering this is "baked" goat cheese, my impression was that they microwaved a slab of goat cheese that sat drenched in tomato sauce.
We wanted to get more bread, but I remembered that this place charges you extra for bread. I have never been to a tapas place that charges $2.00 extra for 4 slices of small, stale bread. What a joke.
When we were done with our meal, we waited over 30 minutes for our waitress to come to our table so we could pay for our food. We spent more time waiting for our waitress to come to us than eating. She wasn't even in the dining room area, so it's not like we could've flagged her down. At this point, we were debating on walking out to see the host and paying with them instead of the waitress. I understand that it was a busy night, but it shouldn't have been so busy that we waited over half an hour to pay for the food.
Overall, the customer service (minus the host) and the food was horrible. My party and I were incredibly annoyed the entire time we were here. I won't be coming back here any time soon, and recommend that you don't either.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Apr 24, 2022Previous reviewWe went here for some small eats at around 6 pm on a Sunday!
It's a pretty cute place for a date with a large selection of tapas. We got two things to share; the Patatas Bravas ($8) and the Albóndigas de Cordero ($12). Both dishes were delicious!
For the Patatas Bravas, the garlic aioli and piquant tomato sauces were amazing. The crispy potatoes paired so well with the two sauces and were seasoned well. I loved how the garlic sauce wasn't overpowering either and meshed well with the tomato sauce.
The Albóndigas de Cordero (lamb meatballs) were incredibly tasty as well. The meatballs weren't too gamey and I really liked the truffle cream sauce the meatballs were drowned in. This dish also comes with peas, which was a pleasant surprise! They also provided bread which was delicious when dipped into the truffle cream sauce. We really enjoyed this dish!
For drinks, I got the Sparkling White Sangria which did not disappoint. It was pretty refreshing and great overall.
Unfortunately, the customer service was a bit disappointing. When we went, it wasn't that busy or loud (perhaps only two or three other tables) but we could barely hear our waitress when she spoke to us. When she did talk to us, she sounded incredibly down as well; seemed as if she didn't want to be there.
Overall, besides the customer service, I really liked the place! There's a bunch of parking nearby and it's super easy to split the bill, they use a tablet which you can split the bill accordingly with different cards. I'm excited to go back here to try more of their Sangrias and plates with the hope that the service will be a bit better. - Christine C.Hyde Park, Boston, MA06Feb 19, 2024
Have frequented this place many years. Service is always excellent. Many of the favorite food items are the same, but there has definitely been a slip in quality. We went for lunch and it wasn't crowded. Most dishes were Luke warm. It's expensive so we fairly expect more. I would rather wait for warm - to order food and take our time then have something slightly more than a fast food experience. Some of the diarrhea skimpy on sauces that make them special-- just seems like quality of food and prep has gone way down - too bad

This is always the best place to kick back and share sangria and eat tasty tapas. I have my favorite like shrimp in evoo with garlic, the duck leg in berries, and anything you like to see.
Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Jul 26, 2021Previous reviewSolea is a standard haunt of ours on a weekend afternoon. Their kitchen post COVID has actually gotten better and more adventurous. The sangria is always good and the bartender is a pro.
I had the gazpacho which was farm to table made with tomatillos, herbs, and a few other summer fresh vegetables. I have never had a bad item, meal, or experience here in over 10 years. Now with outdoor seating added to the dinning rooms it's even better.
The ambiance is chic Euro-Spanish with lots of dark wood and an emphasis on splashes of color and funky lighting. Great for a nice date.
I'm kinda at 4 1/2 stars on the middle-class American scale. Since COVID hit I'm just happy many of my olde haunts are still open.
