Great food here! I enjoyed my pulled pork entree. All was delicious and they were great with accommodating a large group.

I stopped here for a quick bite after reading the positive reviews. This was my first time here and last. The service was slow, which I can deal with if it's busy but it wasn't. There was one other table of 2 when we walked in.
I ordered the Philly cheesesteak that was recommended by the server. I received a hoagie with barely any meat. I even hollowed out the bread to try to make the scale of meat and bread even, didn't help as you can see in the photo.
Very disappointing $17 meal. Do not recommended.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 28, 2023Updated review
Decline.
Recently came back to town and had lunch with a friend.
We both ordered sandwiches.
Philly.
Bland experience. Fries and tots were generic.
I'd say more, but it was such a beige experience I began to day dream of a few things while eating.
......Maybe this is a big bar, after work scene. Maybe I should attempt the BBQ next time....
All I can say is it will take a lot of effort for my friend to get me to go back.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0May 25, 2022Previous reviewWish I had tried them sooner, downtown eatery with just enough variety and a whole lot of personality.
Being right behind a downtown courthouse means this restaurant could have phoned it in when it came to its food. Instead they stepped up to the plate and offer a decent amount of options on the menu.
Now that being said, not everything was five stars.
The pulled pork fried dumplings appetizer was delicious. Highly recommend ordering that for the table. They will disappear in seconds.
I ordered the shrimp and grits. Often I will order this to truly gauge if the kitchen can balance flavors and textures and ratios on a plate.
This dish comes in a four out of five for me. They were a bit heavy-handed with the sauce. The sauce was spicy and a wonderful part of the dish, but the shrimp and grits were drowning in the sauce. So much so, I was able to use it as a condiment for my tater tots.
The shrimp were delicious.
Honorable mention to the side macaroni and cheese and side coleslaw. The mac & cheese could use a little white pepper and a little more salt, but was a nice smooth non-overpowering mac & cheese as a side. The coleslaw had too much radicchio, and the knife cuts were a little all over the place, but much like the macaroni and cheese was a nice pallet cleanser to meal.
The tater tots. Order them. I ate too many.
My friends barbecue was a three out of five, the french fries were nothing to write home about. I try not to judge someone's barbecue on only one tasting, so maybe this was an off day.
The service is super friendly and there is a full bar.
I hope they're still around the next time that I visit this area. - Jan 31, 2024
Cold with the back door opening constantly. Nice decor. Decent food and service. The chili was good and the burger I had did not disappoint. Located in a lovely historic downtown area. A good stop when you're out shopping. Full service bar.

The food is okay. Nothing really stood out but the service always makes up for it and the decor and vibe are always very comforting.

Dinner out with my hubs Dan Bishop!
Trying a place by chance and it rocks! Brie burger with a side of slammin' collards for me and a Cuban sandwich with a side of Mac n QUESO cheese for hubs!
All things delicious!!!
Jessica, your Malchi and chorkie were the best stories!!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Sherry B.Garner, NC372Mar 23, 2024
The restaurant has any historic feel. Very cute. Our food was really good and the waitresses were very nice and accommodating even though they were understaffed. We'll definitely go back!

Ordered a plate to go and it looked very good. Potatoecake was good. The Mac and cheese was ok very creamy but didn't taste cheesy and needed a little flavor. The chicken was cooked prefect but it lack seasoning all together meat and crust. Sauce to put on was very good I put it on everything

Good food, friendly staff, pleasant atmosphere!
Convenient location off I 95. Pastrami sandwich was full of flavor with just enough mustard and sauerkraut. We enjoyed the fried pickles, house salad was fresh!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Holly P.Port Orange, FL04Dec 3, 2023
This restaurant has declined in food quality and menu offerings. I had the southern fried Rangoons and there was no pulled pork to the taste, they were dry and seemed that they had been frozen for too long. As they were fried but hard. NOT GOOD! Also no brisket on the menu. Very disappointing. While the collards were great, the rest of our meal experience left us wanting. Sorry to see this happening to a previously good restaurant. The fired pickles were sliced too thin and therefore too greasy from the frying. NOT GOOD!
