Getting a MRI isn't fun, but this place was great. I had two MRIs, which were very reasonably priced. The lady at the front desk who took all my information was very friendly. The environment was really calming. You could tell it was set up to relax patients as much as possible. The technologist was super friendly and efficient. The MRIs did not take long at all. I would definitely recommend this place if you need an MRI!

Had two separate MRIs here. My scans have always been clear and read within 24 hours. Staff are friendly and patient. Cost is reasonable. Both times smart choice verified coverage with my insurance. The numbers they gave me were correct. It is the individual patients responsibility to verify with their insurance that providers are in network and how much they will have to pay out-of-pocket.

My overall experience with Smart Choice is that they truly care about me as their patient. I had to have my new neurologist look over old scans and Ashley from the records dept went above and beyond to get my scans loaded into the system before my appointment.
When I went in for new scans, my MRI tech was super nice and made sure I was always comfortable (important when all my scans take over 3 hours!)
And then when I had a billing mishap, Sarah contacted me to straighten everything out. If and when there's a glitch, I feel like they do everything possible to make things right. I don't feel like just a number or a dollar sign. Which is tough to say about the standard hospital healthcare experience.
When you're dealing with the challenges of Multiple Sclerosis, it's nice when you have at least ONE less thing to stress out over, especially when it comes to the MRI component. Smart Choice, please keep up the great work and top-notch patient service! Thank you for helping me!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 899882Nov 11, 2017
DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES HAVE ANY SERVICES PERFORMED HERE!!! I CANCELLED MY APPOINTMENT AND NEVER HAD ANY SERVICE PERFORMED AND THEY BILLED ME $300!!! FOR WHAT???!!! They did NOTHING for me. NOTHING!!! And you charge me. I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and I will be disputing this!!!
Lora was amazing. Very friendly and hospitable. So apparently they only have 1 scanner. But they do not schedule patients appointments accordingly. There is no reason that my appointment is at 11am but you don't get me in the machine until 12pm. That is insane. I should've left then. Come to find out they were already scanning another patient. Well my appointment shouldn't have started until after that patient was done. Then I get to the back and Elizabeth is one of the rudest people I've ever dealt with. She looks at me and proceeds to tell me that I may not fit in the machine. WHAT!!! Lady I've had 5 MRIs before and it's never been a problem. Then she asks me ALL of the questions I already answered when I was on the phone for 40 minutes making my appointment. That is so dysfunctional. Why didn't that information get cascaded down. Then I explain that I have a piercing that can't come out and other facilities usually tape it down. She tells me that it's my responsibility if the machine heats the piercing and I get burned. WHAT!!! And let's not forget the whole time Elizabeth is coming in and out of my room to talk to me in between eating food. With crumbs all over her mouth and all. I felt like I was being pranked. So basically I left without being scanned. I'll just pay the high prices at my doctor's hospital. I guess you do get what you pay for.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Hi Tilaina - I am so sorry to hear about your experience. What you have described is not reflective of exceptional experience we strive for with every patient. I would like to discuss your visit with you so we can address any issues. Can you please direct message with a good number and time to reach you?

I heard that Smart Choice MRI offers MRIs for a few hundred dollars while hospitals can charge a few thousand. How do they do this? I imagine because it's a small office with low overhead and just the MRI equipment.
A bonus to this is that I parked right out front of the office, walked in for my appointment (on a Saturday, no less), filled out my paperwork in 10 minutes and was in the machine 10 minutes later.
Another plus is that my 10% payment responsibility due to the terms of my insurance was much less painful than 10% of a much more expensive screening.
The office was nicely decorated, they even had coffee and cookies available and the staff was friendly and professional.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Amy O.Hales Corners, WI1205828Oct 23, 2018
Beth, the Technologist at Waukesha, took great care of us. The advocate was able to find a same-day appointment for our daughter (this is not the norm nor should it be the expectation, we were extremely lucky) to have her MRI. The office was clean and decorated nicely. We were treated well. Very pleased with our visit.

I needed an MRI on my knee. I made the appointment where I was originally referred and just before hanging up, asked the cost. I was transferred twice but was finally told the cost would be just over $5,400, but that my "out of pocket" cost would be $850. I was appalled!! I had heard about Smart Choice so did some digging. Their machine is exactly the same as where I was originally referred (1.5 Tesla), they accepted my insurance, would submit the necessary paperwork for pre-approval/payment, and best of all, no MRI is over $600 - less than what I would have paid for my "out of pocket" cost. The staff was friendly, caring, treated me with respect, and answered my questions. The facility was clean. I did not have to wait. They sent the MRI to my PCP and gave me a hard copy immediately. Total cost - $431(!!!) of which I had to pay $350 to meet my deductible and copay. I STRONGLY recommend Smart Choice MRI in West Milwaukee.

I couldn't have been happier with my experience with Smart Choice. I had an MRI of my brain done here in January. I really appreciated the convenience of getting in the day after I called and the fact that there was no waiting once I checked in for my appointment. The MRI machine seems rather new, the facility is very clean, and as others has said well decorated. They give you sound cancelling headphones and let you choose the music you listen to during the scan. The staff is very professional, informative and helpful. (Cost: $600.00)
I had another MRI done in February and just went to where my Neurologist referred me. I was not impressed. The staff seemed unhappy and disorganized. I had to wait for over an hour to be seen and the equipment was dingy and dirty. (Cost: $2846.32)
Tuesday it was time for my follow up MRI. And guess where I went, that's right Smart Choice. :) It was just as pleasant as the first time. I definitely recommend Smart Choice to anyone who needs to have an MRI done. For me it's like choosing the Hyatt or Motel 6 when the Hyatt cost less.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Tinamaria A.Oak Creek, WI03Oct 22, 2016
I have been to Smart Choice before, this indeed was a different experience. The Technician gave me the dye in a different way which didn't make me so nausea. It did still drop my energy levels down some and made me a little dizzy but over all a good experience. The Technician was a little "rushed" but still interacted w/me enough to know what was going on. Will return again in the future.

I've never had an MRI done before, but I must say this was a great place to go. I was in and out within 30 minutes time. (on a saturday too.) I didn't have to deal with a long wait, tons of paperwork, or lots of doctors. They had a TV with a comfortable area to wait, and the staff was easygoing and very pleasant. Overall, comfortable atmosphere. Almost like being at home.... Plus any MRI is just $600! Way cheaper than if I had gone to a hospital. so glad I asked my doctor if there was a closer&cheaper place!
