Excellent People who care about your pet and run a no-nonsense business. My dog has a healthy fear of coming here because they actually do stuff check-ups. I also like the thrift shop next door.

Excellent Veterinary Clinic, with a friendly and professional service. They care about the welfare of your pets and are honest in their assessments. I will never forget you guys. I hope they will have appointments available again soon.

Wonderful service!!! Dr. Sexton graduated from a top veterinary school (The Ohio State University), he and Laurain are very caring and really understanding about my dog, Teddy Bear. I love their sense of humor as well! Teddy Bear actually gets out of the car most times when he sees where we park in front of the office. They know how much my companion means to me! Thank you for the love you give Teddy Bear!

I brought my dog here to be neutered & to have a few baby teeth extracted. Dr sexton was very nice & seemed to care about my dog. It had a very family feel to it, which I appreciated because I really don't want my dog to feel unnecessarily stressed. It's bad enough going to the vet!
Everybody who worked there was friendly & seemed to be ready and waiting for my dog to arrive.
The pricing wasn't cheap, but it wasn't the MOST expensive. I was very happy with how my little guy seemed to feel after, and he has snapped back quickly. He didn't even have to wear a cone.
A couple of things they can work on are pretty minor. They do need better signage. It doesn't say Sexton Clinic on the sign, I think it just says Veterinary Clinic. Also, I asked them to email vaccination and neutering records so I could upload to get my dog licensed, and they said they didn't have that capability. That's a little strange, but the #1 most important thing is, and will always be, how they make your pet feel and the quality of medical care, and I was very happy with that!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Stacy S.Lafayette, CA657Jun 24, 2022
I have been coming here for close to 20 years. We have taken everything from hamsters to chickens to rabbits, parakeets and of course dogs and cats. They have been extremely professional, knowledgable, and kind. Very importantly they do not over test. They use common sense and their veterinary knowledge and experience and will run the tests when needed but not unless they are needed And they have always been correct on the diagnosis I have taken my dog , in their absence, to other well known facilities who charged thousands in tests and where they told me she should go to Davis for analysis but would probably have to be put down. Dr Sexton took one look and diagnosed her correctly with a bladder infection. A round of antibiotics and she was fine. I would and do drive an hour to take my animals to them.

I worked with Dr. Sexton many years ago when I was a vet tech. I've since changed professions and relocated back to the East Bay Area. I needed a vet and it was natural for me to choose Jim Sexton and his team. He's knowledgeable, compassionate, genuine, gentle and kind. He has your fur child's best interests at heart always. He's in Alamo so a bit more pricey, however you won't get better care and he won't gouge you for unnecessary tests, procedures etc.
I fully and completely recommend you check out his practice.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Craig B.Danville, CA3724137Jan 16, 2020
I had a similar experience to what Erik had. I took my 2 year old in for an ear infection for the 3rd time.
He wanted to try some "new" ear drops that would correct the problem. When he brought her back in the room he told me he had to muzzle her. Well come on, she was in pain and had some stranger manhandling her. So about a week later her ear starts acting up again and I called there and told the gal what was going on and she said she would talk to the Dr. and call me back. So she calls me and said the Dr. said to wait a couple days and see what happens because she was uncooperative! Are you kidding me?
Not the answer I was looking for after spending $180 on something that didn't even work. She is a medium sized very sweet dog and if he can't handle that he may want to get some lessons on how to handle uncooperative dogs. I'm pretty sure my dog isn't the only one out there that is "uncooperative".
I hate to leave bad reviews but when I read that other review a red flag went up. There are plenty of Vets out there and I always like to help out the small business but this is totally unacceptable! Not the type of follow up I was looking for.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - chrissy w.Lafayette, CA292115Dec 9, 2019
Conscientious, kind and give amazing service without pushing extra vaccinations or lab tests. Very sweet with my spoiled dogs and even called groomer to confirm rabies vaccines for me. I'm very glad they are back in Alamo.

Was taking our Labrador to another vet and was told our dog possibly had Addison Disease. Having heard the news, I was shocked and started to research it. I wanted a second opinion and brought our dog to the Sexton Clinic. Turned out to be the best decision ever. Ended up not being Addison and Dr. Sexton correctly diagnosed it as Hypothyroid. Our dog is now on a pill a day and is back to her normal self with no problems.
Have been coming here for over a year now and Dr. Sexton and staff are top notch. Super friendly and a nice clean practice. I highly recommend taking your pet here.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
