I had such a wonderful experience at this spa! My boyfriend and I did a deep tissues couples massage. And boy oh boy it is definitely a deep tissue massage. The nice lady who was massaging me got so many knots out and tight spots loosened. My boyfriend has never gotten a massage before and after this massage he said he definitely will be going again. Definitely go to them!! They were amazing and we had such a good experience. Just make sure to emphasize what kind of massage you want. But if you want someone who actually massages and works on areas this is such a good spot to hit!! Can't wait for our next couples massage

My experience at Serenity Spa was extremely disappointing. I encountered several issues that made my visit far from relaxing. First and foremost, the language barrier was a significant problem as none of the staff members spoke English. This made it incredibly challenging to communicate my needs and preferences effectively.

Moreover, the cleanliness of the place was unacceptable. The spa appeared to be in a state of neglect, with dirt and grime visible in various areas. It was disheartening to see such a lack of attention to cleanliness, especially in a setting where hygiene should be a top priority.

During my massage, I had the unfortunate experience of receiving most of it under a rough sheet. This greatly diminished the comfort and enjoyment of the treatment. To make matters worse, my husband even encountered a hair in his mouth from the sheet he was on, which was truly off-putting and unhygienic.

What added to my frustration was the absence of any means to address these concerns. There was no way to inform anyone due to the language barrier, the cleanliness issues, or the uncomfortable massage experience. This lack of communication channels only further emphasized the spa's disregard for customer satisfaction.

Overall, I would not recommend Serenity Spa based on my experience. The language barrier, unclean environment, and lack of responsiveness to customer concerns made it far from a serene and enjoyable spa experience. It is crucial for spas to prioritize cleanliness, effective communication, and customer satisfaction, and unfortunately, Serenity Spa fell short in all these areas.

I've been going here for years and have never been disappointed!

The first time I came here was after receiving a Groupon gift for a couple's massage with my husband. It was not the best experience, as they had over-booked and we had to wait 1.5 hours after taking our clothes off in order to receive our massage. But oh boy, what a massage it was. They addressed knots in our backs that we didn't even know we had, and we were sore for 3 days after. While this location is not the most aesthetically pleasing nor relaxing spa I've ever been to, they provide the best deep tissue massages I've ever had in my life. I have since come here several more times on my own to have my stiff upper back/shoulders massaged, since this is a chronic issue I deal with. They don't start out with the lotions/oils, but they rather start out with something more akin to a Shiatsu massage, where they massage for at least 20 minutes while you're still fully covered with the sheet. This warms your body up and helps with the next stage, which is the traditional, lotion massage. They also provide a hot towel for your back after the lotion massage session is completed for your back region. Overall, I don't think that this is the place you want to go to if you want a romantic, relaxing, and glamorous massage. It's in an old medical office building and the rooms are not that pretty. However, if you want the kind of massage that hurts in the best way and treats your chronic back pain while being priced fairly, then I wholeheartedly recommend Serenity. I try to come out at least once a month!

-Massage room and bathroom was clean and well sanitized
-Great price for couples massage with hot stone and slight reflexology
-The amount of pressure and attention to my back was relieving and rejuvenating
-Husband said the masseuse really nailed the spot in his arm and shoulder where he was feel discomfort. He said he felt so much better after the session!

If you are looking for a bougie spa place with robes and slippers. This is not the place for you. This place mainly focuses on a great massage. I would definitely return again!

I have had several different therapist and have always received a great massage. Would definitely recommend Serenity Spa!

I can't say enough about Serenity Spa. I brought my 85 year-old mother who has arthritis in her neck and was suffering from headaches. Not only did they really work on her for 90 minutes they were sincerely concerned about her pain. Also took the time to walk her to my car which was kind. The owner is always accommodating & facility is clean. Best place in Rockville/North Potomac.

My friend bought 90 minutes spa with $20 tip added on top for my birthday last year. I was too busy and forgot the card. But there is a expiry date on card, I missed it for less a month. I know it was my fault not schedule it before the date, but it's only less than a month, the spa already got the money, there is no lose for them. I just called the spa center and explained what happened. They don't have any flexibility to this situation, I feel like I am not welcomed to visit to the spa, and they do not care to gain new customer or potential continuous business. It means my friend paid $120 for nothing. And of course, I don't have any eager to try this spa anymore, so disappointed. Don't recommend this spa's gift card, they didn't send any friendly reminder either. I am very sorry to waste my friend's good heart. VERY Disappointed!!

Nothing Serene about my visit on Thursday, 4/20. I was happy for the convenient time slot, but as a first-timer, the experience wasn't relaxing at all. It felt rushed from the beginning. I specifically asked and pointed to the pain in my lower back, and she proceeded to bore into my shoulders and slapped me all over, her cupped hands, as though she was angry . My partner even said that he heard her hit me several times, and his attendant only did that to his hands and feet. I'm no wimp, but I didn't sign up to be pummeled. I thought that with such great reviews, we'd have a good experience, I did not, and I won't return.

Such a good massage experience! The two partner massage was only $139 for an hour including hot stone treatment.

The masseuse was very skilled. It was a very enjoyable experience. The room was very clean. They have a membership option that is such a good deal!
