As a little girl I envisioned being a princess on my wedding day. I don't think I that could have happened without Sasha! Her keen eye mixes the trendy with the classy to create an ambiance that left everyone in awe. She made it me but with her "Signature Sasha" style (yes I own her book too!) that left my guests jaws on the floor.
I could openly communicate with her about all aspects of my wedding and she knew exactly how to make my day special. Her staff and the vendors that she recommended worked together to give me what I wanted.
My girlfriends who are getting married tell me all the time about how much they loved little parts of my wedding and how they want to incorporate similar styles into their events. I tell them to hire Sasha and her team because she is worth every penny.

Worked with them for my wedding years ago and had a mixed experience - there were many frustrating moments during the planning process itself, where they lacked communicativeness and follow through, as well as a subpar suggestion of vendors (nearly all vendor selections and negotiations including photographer, videographer, venue were chosen and done by ourselves). However, they were excellent on the day-of itself and ensured a smooth procession of events on the day.
Years later, and I discover that my wedding photos have been featured (without my prior approval) on their website. I emailed them and followed up twice for them to be removed, as I prefer to keep my personal life private, and they have unprofessionally not responded in over a month. I find such behavior to be not only rude and unprofessional, but unethical.
By the way, at least one of the five star reviews written on their page seems to be from a family member. I'm concerned about the ethics of their practice and their lack of responsiveness as well as decent courtesy to existing and former clients.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Jan 5, 2016Previous reviewSasha Souza and her team planned our wedding in Malibu, California. Overall, we were pleased with the execution on the day of the wedding. Sasha and her team executed each detail flawlessly and the day's events went without a hitch, especially given strict clear out schedules and rules given by our venue. If we were to rate Sasha purely based on day-of execution, we would give her team a 5/5. However, there were some issues with consistent communication during the planning process that could have been dealt with better. In addition, perhaps because we have different styles or aesthetic preferences, we spent a lot of time looking for vendors we were satisfied with outside of their recommended vendor list - something we believe contributed greatly to the quality of the wedding, but took up a lot of our own time. Nonetheless, the wedding ultimately turned out well and we were happy with the way they executed the wedding day itself - so despite some earlier glitches, Sasha and her team did a fair job.

RUN AWAY. These people refused to refund our fee after two weeks signing the contract. In those two weeks, we realized they did not do a lick of work and never planned on it. It was highway robbery.

Do you want a full-service wedding planner? If so, Sasha Souza Events is not for you. My wife and I hired Sasha Souza Events towards the end 2018 for our October 2019 wedding in Napa, CA. We visited several different venues in January 2019, which was scheduled by her team prior to our arrival. After selecting a venue, we corresponded with their team over the next few months. About 2 months prior to the wedding, we had not received our design packet, pricing information, layout; anything to do with our wedding. We had to schedule calls multiple times with them to ensure they were following THEIR timeline that they gave to us at the beginning of the process. My wife and I constantly had to babysit them and ask what we needed to be working on, what answers they were waiting on (if any), etc.
There was not a moment during the 11 months of planning that I was impressed with their services. They made our lives more stressful and we spent weeks worrying about OUR day, to the extent that we thought about firing them a month prior to the wedding.
I would not recommend Sasha Souza Events to anyone, not even my worst enemy. They overpromised and underdelivered. My wife was crying in my arms at our rehearsal dinner because of how much stress Mel and Sasha were causing her and how much coordinating she was doing, instead of the "planners" we hired. On the day of the wedding, our photographer and videographer were forced to take on the wedding planner role, helping groomsmen with corsages, guiding the wedding party after the ceremony and coordinating the start of the dancing after dinner.

Fun, Fresh, Imaginative, Detailed, Colorful..... The list could go on for days.
There's a reason Modern Bride Magazine named her a Top 25 Trendsetter in the wedding and event industry. She has exquisite taste and completely transforms spaces into sophisticated and magical environments. I've been very fortunately to shoot a lot of Sasha's events and no matter where it is or who her clients are, it's ALWAYS a gorgeous and fun party. Absolute superb service that is priceless. Speaking as a DIY bride we were thankful we had someone to execute the details on the wedding day. Lacey guided us in planning and helped outline our details resulting in a flawless execution. We were so blessed to have Lacey as our coordinator and if we had to do it over again we would choose this events team every time! Thank you for making wedding magic happen!

I had the fortune of hiring Sasha Souza for our wedding and was really excited for the creativity and the wedding as it approached. What I found was that the best way to work with her is to provide her a list of your ideas and let her make them come to life. I think the fact that I just wanted an amazing wedding for about 100 people and a sitdown dinner as my priorities, it gave her a lot of ability to do what I hired her to do.
The wedding was beyond gorgeous, it wasn't cheap, but it wasn't ridiculous, either. What I had heard was that she was so expensive that only the top teir of people could hire her. I called anyway and found that she works in a wide range of budgets starting at a certain number, which I fit into.
She does work with a group of vendors on every wedding which made it really fast and easy for me since I couldn't take a bunch of time off work for the planning. We met about three times over about eight months and did most of the meetings on one day. I gave her a question and answer page that she sent to me that helped her design the colors and the vendors for my wedding.
I do have to comment on her assistant, Mel. She's really friendly and together and organized -- funny, too. The food tasting was so much fun because everybody gets along so well It's more like a group of friends for dinner than a big wedding meeting. I loved that.
What I was looking for was somebody that I could connect with and I had seen Sasha in all the wedding magazines, so that was a little intimidating. I always thought that she was way older than she is at probably about 34 years old.
What I found out is that there is a reason that she's on top of her business. Creativity, fun personality and really detailed coordination.
If there was one drawback it would be that I didn't hire a photographer that she referred to me and their pictures were not very good. Another would be that I did come in a bit over my budget, but I knew that could happen since I have champagne taste on a beer budget :) I upgraded items that I wanted to upgrade even though she told me that I didn't have to have them if I wanted to keep the costs down.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Kimi I.New York, NY549117101Aug 5, 2015
Was looking forward to speaking with Mellysa from Souza Events regarding my wedding and had set up a phone meeting for 9amPST/12pmEST (we live in NYC). We confirmed the appointment the day before and she agreed to call my fiancé and I on his phone, as we had both arranged our work schedules for this call. 25 mins later and we never received a call from Mellysa. Very disappointing and not a good 1st impression. Needless to say, we won't be using this company to plan our wedding.

Hi Kimi. I wanted to speak to your issue re: the phone call with Mel. I thought that I had posted this at the time that it was first reported, but I don't see it reflected so I'll do it now (albeit quite late). When I went back t the file log on the phone calls, we did email asking to setup an appointment after the first one was canceled. We never received the confirmation and Mel tried to reach out by email but we didn't hear back. Sorry that the miscommunication in timing affected your feelings about my company. I really hope you had an awesome wedding.

Sasha Souza events team is absolutely amazing. We hired them for our wedding and I can't imagine a more beautiful, perfect wedding.They went above and beyond to create an imaginative fantastical space that only existed in our dreams, they truly made the most magical day of our lives happen and took care of everything so we could relax and enjoy it. They took time to get to know us, are intuitive, professional, fun and kind. Definitely the type of people that you leave in charge and know everything will be taken care of, just amazing individuals all around. They were not just planners, but wise mentors and friends.

Sasha and Mel were great! They coordinated everything, and they took so much of the stress away from us. They were prepared for anything and kept the wedding running smoothly. We did go over budget, but every moment was so magical, and the décor was beautiful. I strongly recommend Sasha and Mel to any bride looking to have their wedding in wine country.
